Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: One Last Night with Celeste

"Closure was never the plan. We were always meant to burn."

---

NYRA VORA

I shouldn't have come.

But I did.

The moment I opened the door to her penthouse, the city disappeared behind me.

All that was left... was her.

Celeste.

In a lace robe. Hair wet. Eyes amused.

> "You came," she whispered, leaning against the wall.

> "One night," I warned.

She smiled.

> "That's all it ever takes with us."

---

30 MINUTES LATER – HER BEDROOM

The robe was gone.

She lay across crimson silk, one leg arched, cigarette between her lips.

> "You kissed me back," she said.

I didn't deny it.

> "Why?"

I stepped closer, my dress unzipped halfway.

> "Because I remembered what it felt like… when someone wanted me, not my obedience."

She pulled me down into the bed without a word.

---

The first kiss was soft.

The second—dangerous.

She bit my lower lip.

> "You still taste like war," she growled.

> "You still kiss like sin," I whispered.

Her fingers slipped under my dress.

Trails of fire.

Familiar and foreign all at once.

> "Does he touch you like this?" she asked.

> "He doesn't touch me at all."

> "Good."

---

OUTSIDE – KAI

He stood across the building.

On the rooftop.

Watching.

He should've looked away.

He should've turned back.

But he didn't.

He watched her with Celeste.

Watched her arch.

Watched her gasp.

And his jaw clenched so tight, his teeth bled.

---

INSIDE – NYRA

Celeste pinned my wrists above my head.

> "Say it," she breathed into my ear.

> "Say what?"

> "That no one ever undressed your pain like I did."

I stared into her eyes.

> "No one ever made me love my rage like you."

She kissed me again.

Deeper.

Wilder.

---

AFTER

We lay tangled in the sheets.

No promises. No softness.

Just fire.

> "Do you still hate me?" she asked, tracing my collarbone.

> "Only a little."

> "You'll come back."

> "Maybe," I said. "But only if I don't burn everything else down first."

---

MEANWHILE – KAI

He lit a cigarette he didn't even smoke.

Eyes still locked on the penthouse across the street.

And when he whispered her name, it wasn't gentle.

> "Nyra…"

It was a warning.

A prayer.

A promise.
