Chapter 539 - Chapter 537: The Hall of Serenity

Haseo, how does it feel?

Tsunade gestured for Haseo to move his "arm."

Haseo nodded. Chakra surged from the stump on his right arm, and following the doctor's instructions, he began moving the limb.

"It's a bit strange. The sensations and perceptions seem delayed, like there's always a slight disconnect between me and it... It feels just like touching skin through layers of fabric."

"I guess it's mostly a matter of getting used to it—eventually, it might feel more like touching silk instead of cotton."

The way Haseo described things… was incredibly unique, always sounding slightly suggestive. Fortunately, Tsunade was the one beside him now, so no moral dilemmas or legal violations were involved.

"What about the weight? We'll also need to balance both arms properly..."

As for sensory issues, they could only be adjusted gradually—it really was just a matter of habit. Tsunade herself had no better solution. In fact, once he adapted, extending chakra as tactile sensors would provide faster feedback and greater sensitivity than normal limbs.

Haseo remained surprisingly laid-back about losing an arm. He honestly didn't care much—

Firstly, any battle like that naturally demanded a price, and he'd already mentally prepared himself beforehand. Compared to total defeat, losing an arm was nothing;

Secondly, he personally believed he wouldn't face such heavy combat duties again, so missing an arm wouldn't matter much;

Lastly, in the Ninjutsu World, replacements could always be found—"alternatives" that weren't original equipment, but still functional enough.

Take Haseo's current wooden arm, for instance; even making a movement produced creaky sounds. How delightfully playful.

"The joints still require further adjustment. This 'prototype' needs more refinement—I've never done work exactly like this before.

Once the 'prototype' is fully calibrated and the Uzumakis have processed the materials properly, then we can start manufacturing actual prosthetics… We'll just follow the prototype's specs from there."

Haseo was playing with his prosthetic like a toy, but immediately afterward, Tsunade reached out and pulled his arm off—the scene momentarily startled Haseo quite badly.

D-Domestic... violence?!

Everyone took his condition very seriously, except for Haseo, who clearly didn't care much at all.

"Yeah, I trust you completely with this."

See? She really wasn't worried about handing everything over.

"Although my home was originally quite peaceful—treehouses, open fields, forests, fresh and moist air, a refreshing breeze carrying just a hint of warmth… It perfectly embodied the harmony between humans and nature. Yet now it's turned into a construction site.

This proves people shouldn't gather together—once they do, mob mentality kicks in and things go haywire."

While speaking, Haseo leaned against the wall and struggled somewhat toward the window. Seeing this, Tsunade immediately set down her "wooden toy," hurried over, and supported him.

Outside the window, on the open ground beneath the wooden hut, Uzumaki Shinobi were busily at work.

Tsunade wasn't particularly fond of her peaceful little hut being disturbed either, but… it was understandable.

"After all, the materials aren't easy to handle. The Uzumakis are doing their best."

It was said that the crafting material for the Uchiha War Fan came from the completed form of the "God Tree"—obviously nothing ordinary.

All things considered, even though many years had passed and the material had already been shaped into a weapon, fundamentally speaking, it was still just a piece of wood with special properties. But the God Tree remained the God Tree—it lasted incredibly long and possessed an indescribable combination of hardness and resilience. Pure physical force could barely alter its shape, so naturally, processing it wasn't simple.

"Yeah, considering we're trying to modify it beyond all recognition..."

Haseo understood their difficulties perfectly—Haseo could totally relate—it was like understanding a neighbor who spends a quarter of every year doing renovations.

But in the end, inanimate objects remained inanimate; as long as enough time was given, eventually an appropriate solution would emerge.

Haseo had been recovering in Shikkotsu Forest until he regained basic mobility, and only then did they finally finish manufacturing the "hardware" for his new arm.

What remained was handing it over to Tsunade for assembly and fine-tuning.

However, setting aside the matter of the "arm" for now, along with the arm, several other items had also been completed.

At this moment, Ka-jin arrived beside Haseo and Tsunade carrying the results of their efforts these past days.

"What is this? A walking cane?"

Haseo took the object handed to him by Ka-jin.

Its cross-sectional shape was a flat oval, offering a comfortable grip, standing one-and-a-half meters tall, perfectly straight, and dark black in color—it looked exactly like a rod.

"The two Long Blades Lord Haseo usually used were destroyed in previous battles, so we thought you might need a new weapon," Ka-jin explained.

"Oh, I thought maybe you guys were making fun of me needing help walking now."

Ka-jin: "..."

Is that even something someone should say? We clearly meant well—completely misunderstood our intentions?

With a twist and pull from one hand, Haseo felt the spring release mechanism disengage. Then he pulled out a plain, straight-blade longsword with no decorations.

Obviously, it was incredibly sharp.

"This is quite a big sword... it's a bit too long." Haseo swung the weapon casually, discovering immediately how significantly heavy it felt. And unlike the weapons he'd used previously, the blade measured about 1.10 meters—110 centimeters of blade combined with 40 centimeters of hilt—so indeed, it really was lengthy.

A fully metallic sword paired with an entirely metal scabbard, of course it would be heavy.

"It can also function as a walking stick..."

Ka-jin added softly.

"So I wasn't wrong about your intentions... Well, thanks anyway."

Haseo thought to himself: Seriously, I probably won't even need weapons anymore. Why randomly give me a sword now? Doesn't that count as a jinx? At the very least, it's a flag, right? Plus, it's clearly an upgrade from what I used before.

This was clearly modified from Madara's large sickle.

Judging solely from the previous owner, Haseo's original Twin Blades had been modified from Kinkaku and Ginkaku's weapons in Kumo. Now he switched to Madara Uchiha's weaponry… you could call it a sort of upgrade, at best.

Considering the origin of the Uchiha war fan, that giant sickle might also be a weapon of comparable rank.

At this point, both Ka-jin and Tsunade felt a little worried—because by their usual routine, Haseo was about to give this longsword some outrageously abstract name.

But he didn't. He simply sheathed the sword and placed it on the nearby table… surprisingly, everyone felt strangely disappointed.

"Ahem… as for that big war fan, we originally wanted to use the remaining materials to make an umbrella, since the ability to reflect ninjutsu was quite valuable. However, after thinking about it, we decided to keep it as backup material for prosthetics… although the durability of the materials is definitely trustworthy."

Haseo gave Ka-jin a sideways glance, mulling over his words. Something just didn't sit right—he wasn't implying that no matter how sturdy the prosthetic was, *he* might still end up breaking it, was he?

Hadn't the Uchiha war fan lasted thousands of years without breaking?

Absolutely underestimating him.

However… the Uzumakis' idea wasn't bad either. Just in case, they'd keep it as spare material.

"And those short swords…"

"Modified from Lord Haseo's two broken blades…"

Haseo waved his hand dismissively, "Keep them."

He already had his "crutch"—short swords weren't needed anymore… turning "preferring the new over the old" into "a horse doesn't return to old feed once it's found better grass" was a talent too.

But these were just extras. The most important thing remained—the creation of the prosthetic limb.

...

Late at night, inside the ward, Tsunade was adjusting the arm made from components of the war fan. The possessions of the Uchiha had ultimately become Haseo's possessions, just like how Haseo's possessions would inevitably become the casino's—in this there existed a "karmic law."

"It's practically done already, Tsunade. Are you going to become a puppeteer?

There's no need to make it that realistic. Practicality should come first. As for decorations… I think even if the Hokage is disabled, nobody in Konoha would dare discriminate against me, right?"

Haseo noticed Tsunade installing something resembling "synthetic skin" onto the prosthetic, matching her master's skin tone exactly, so he couldn't help speaking out… what use was there making decorations so lifelike? It wasn't a real arm anyway.

Tsunade lifted her head slightly but ignored Haseo's comment, continuing with her work.

"Didn't you entrust me with handling this? Didn't you previously say, 'Hmm, well, I trust your judgment'?"

She even mimicked Haseo's tone, leaving him speechless.

So he changed topics.

"Can you engrave some words on the inside?"

"It's possible. What do you want written? Characters like 'zheng'—like tally marks?"

"…"

What kind of childish crap was that? Who taught her to talk like this?

"At least you could have guessed something like 'My Love' or 'Forever Mine'?"

"Seriously, you're the type to say something like that, Haseo?"

"Uh..."

Apparently not.

"So what do you want to write?"

"Hmm..."

What could Haseo possibly have to say?

[Proof That Haseo Has Hands]

Proof that anything Haseo does is within reach for anyone with hands.
