Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: Konata’s Special Training? II

"Hmm…"

Konata turned to glance at Midoriya, who was still sprinting back and forth picking up bottles without a break. She looked pensive.

"It's gonna take him a while to get full control over his power. Took me ages back then… Wait—what was I even here for?"

After racking her brain for a few minutes, Konata came to a rather disappointing realization: she'd completely forgotten why she came here in the first place.

Sure, training Midoriya was part of the reason, but she could swear there was something else—something more specific. But no matter how hard she tried to recall, that one "other reason" refused to return to her memory.

"…Whatever. If I forgot, it probably wasn't that important anyway."

Mumbling to herself, she plopped back down comfortably and started playing on her phone.

Since she had no clue about the original story, she also had no way of knowing whether Midoriya's abilities had improved or regressed as a result of her presence here. Judging by how the USJ incident went, though, things… probably leaned more toward regression.

With danger lurking in the shadows and unpredictability creeping in, Konata figured she should lend Midoriya a hand while she still could.

She'd already asked what his two-week training plan looked like—and the answer had nearly made her facepalm.

The same repetitive cycle of running, weight training, and grip strength drills.

Honestly? Utterly useless in her eyes. They didn't help with controlling his strength at all. Sure, general fitness was important, but this guy—this full-blown All Might otaku—probably just wanted to be a musclehead like his idol.

Her method might seem overly simple, but for Midoriya's current level, it was actually the most efficient.

With that thought, Konata's curiosity got the better of her. She cast Appraisal on Midoriya from a distance while he was still training under the curious eyes of bystanders.

Midoriya Izuku – Current Favorability: 92

"...HUH?!"

She blinked at the display in disbelief.

She clearly remembered using Appraisal on the bus to USJ—his favorability was 36 back then. It hadn't even been that many days, so how the heck did it jump this high? She hadn't done anything special…

Scratching her cheek, she stared suspiciously at Midoriya's back.

Maybe the guilt from her injuries during the USJ attack had all converted into favorability points? The last time someone's favorability jumped like this was Bakugo—who skyrocketed by 125 points in one go, from the deep negatives to +5. Bros really did have similar patterns, huh?

Although… what was the point of high favorability again?

Shaking off the thought, Konata pulled up her system interface—nearly forgotten as always.

[Main Quest: Capture the favor of this world's protagonist (92/100). Become the undeniable female lead. Current Progress: 21%]

[Story Quest: Prevent Midoriya Izuku from sustaining irreversible damage to his arms. Progress: 27%]

[Other Quests: None]

[Unlocked Transformations: Misaka Mikoto, Shana]

[Locked Transformations: Hatsune Miku, …]

When she saw Hatsune Miku's icon, it finally clicked—that's what she had forgotten!

"Ah right, I was supposed to unlock two new transformations… Wait, the main quest is only at 21%? Even with Midoriya nearly maxed out? Or… do I need to raise everyone else's favorability too?"

Her thoughts started drifting in a weird direction again.

Now that she remembered, she had to act on it.

Unlocking Miku was technically the easiest, but also the most time-consuming. A million fans wasn't exactly a weekend project. Sure, she'd uploaded some famous Miku songs to the net café's network, but results had been… underwhelming.

So far, Miku had only garnered about two thousand fans. The songs were undeniably great and stirred up a decent wave of hype online, but the "mysterious identity" of the singer and the complete lack of public appearances made the whole thing feel like vaporware.

Clearly, just a few songs wouldn't be enough to hit a million.

Still, Konata had a pretty solid plan in mind. If things went well, reaching that goal in a short time might not be impossible.

As for the final locked transformation… yeah, she'd just ignore that one for now.

Time passed quietly. Onlookers came and went. Meanwhile, Midoriya's accuracy was climbing at a terrifying speed—almost suspiciously fast.

Konata muttered something about freaks under her breath and went back to work—specifically, picking through the system's library of thousands of Miku tracks in search of the perfect one. Her top candidate? A Miku cover of "Senbonzakura"—a fast-paced, energetic song that could stir hearts and rally fans.

She was so absorbed in her music that she didn't even notice when Midoriya—now soaked head to toe in sweat—walked up to her.

"All done?"

She lifted her head and took off her headphones.

"All done."

Midoriya clenched his fists and nodded with determination.

"I think I'm finally confident eno—"

"Then let's move on to the next stage."

Not even waiting for him to finish, Konata casually handed him a cold bottle of soda from beside her.

"Drink up and rest. The next part's harder, so get ready for a rough time."

"…Okay."

Midoriya opened his mouth, then swallowed his words. With a frustrated sigh, he took the soda from her. The cold bottle surprised him as the chill seeped into his fingers.
