The morning sunlight spilled into the manor's high-ceilinged hallways, catching in dust motes that drifted lazily in the still air. The quiet after the chaos of the night before felt… strange. Too still.
Alex stirred in the bed, the sheets tangled halfway around him. He was warm — not from the sunlight streaming in, but from the way Liam had practically glued himself to him through the night. An arm, heavy and possessive, wrapped around his waist, pulling him close until their bodies were flush.
"Mm," Liam's voice was gravel and silk, pressed against the side of Alex's neck. "Don't move yet. You're warm."
Alex's lips twitched into something between a smirk and a sigh. "You're heavy."
"You love it." Liam's arm tightened, his breath warm against Alex's skin. "And I'm not letting you out of bed yet."
