For enemies in the sky, Bai Mo currently had no particularly effective way to deal with them. Although magnetic field martial arts allowed physical flight once reaching 100,000 horsepower, Bai Mo's current strength was far from that level. Thus, he was somewhat helpless against the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle at the moment.
The rock spears Bai Mo launched were indeed fast, but the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle in the sky could still dodge them slightly. However, blinded by rage, the eagle failed to evade completely and was grazed by a spear, injuring its wing. Though it didn't lose the ability to fly, the pain only further enraged it.
"Marcille, do you have a way to pull that thing down from the sky?" Bai Mo asked.
Marcille immediately replied, "I do have a gravity spell, but I need to get close! We'll have to wait for it to attack first!"
"Tch!" Watching the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle circling above, Bai Mo could only pull out a Survey Corps longbow from his spatial storage—a weapon he'd brought from the hunting world. Drawing the bow, he rapidly fired a barrage of arrows.
Screech!
Faced with the relentless rain of arrows, the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle quickly identified the greatest threat. After dodging the projectiles, it circled briefly before diving straight toward Marcille.
That's right—while Bai Mo posed a threat, the cunning beast knew to target the weaker prey first. Moreover, Marcille was standing right beside the severed wings of its mate. For both reasons, it had to eliminate this female human first!
Seeing the eagle swooping down again, Marcille didn't panic this time. Instead, she began chanting a spell under her breath, choosing once more to trust her teammates.
And Laios and Senshi didn't let her down. The two had already moved behind her, weapons at the ready.
As the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle closed in, Marcille's grip on her staff trembled slightly. The moment it entered an eight-meter radius, she unleashed her magic:
"Gravity Field—Activate!"
With a surge of magical energy, an intense gravitational force enveloped the area within eight meters of Marcille. Caught off guard, the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle was slammed onto the treetops by the sudden pressure.
Screeeech!
As the eagle struggled, Laios immediately moved to finish it off. However, Marcille's gravity spell was indiscriminate—anyone within the eight-meter range was affected. Under the crushing force, Laios and Senshi could barely move a step.
Meanwhile, Marcille had to maintain the spell, leaving her unable to cast an offensive spell to secure the kill herself.
Just as Laios was struggling forward, a figure appeared right in front of the Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle. Staring into its eyes, Bai Mo uttered only one sentence:
"Time to die."
His fist descended like a hammer, smashing the eagle's skull into pulp.
Phew—
Seeing Bai Mo resolve the threat, Marcille released the spell and let out a relieved sigh.
"Bai, you're really strong. To make sure the gravity was enough to suppress it, I set it to ten times normal gravity! And you weren't affected at all?"
"My physical strength is decent," Bai Mo replied casually, his mind still lingering on the gravity spell.
As a fan of Dragon Ball, Bai Mo was deeply familiar with the legendary gravity chamber. Modern technology couldn't yet replicate such extreme conditions—it was a national-level research project, far beyond Bai Mo's means.
But now, it struck him: what science couldn't achieve, magic might.
Intrigued, Bai Mo handed Marcille a bottle of rejuvenating snake venom juice and asked, "Marcille, what's the maximum gravity your spell can create?"
"Huh? It can range from two to twenty times normal gravity. With more magical energy, I can push it to thirty times at most."
Only thirty times gravity?
Bai Mo felt a twinge of disappointment, though it would still be useful for his current training.
"Could you teach me this gravity spell?"
As he spoke, Bai Mo felt a little awkward. After all, he'd just refused her request to learn spatial magic, and now he was asking her to teach him gravity magic. It seemed a bit unfair.
Come to think of it, maybe I should ask Tohru instead?
As an ancient dragon who'd lived for millennia, she probably knew gravity magic too.
Just as Bai Mo was about to retract his request, Marcille agreed without hesitation.
"Of course! Gravity magic isn't particularly advanced—even magic academies teach it. Since you joined our team without any payment, how about I teach you a few spells as compensation?"
"Really?" Bai Mo was pleasantly surprised. "But I don't really need compensation!"
"It's fine, it's fine! What other spells do you want to learn? I'll see if I know them."
Truthfully, Bai Mo wasn't overly interested in magic. For a magnetic field martial artist (or a battle maniac), fists were the ultimate solution.
But when it came to magic...
"Actually, is there a spell that can harm ghosts?"
"There is, but for undead creatures, someone like Falin—a shrine maiden—would be more suitable."
"What about a buffing spell that can also destroy ghosts?"
"Ghosts are weak to lightning, fire, and sunlight. Lightning is the simplest, but purification magic is the most effective!"
Overhearing their conversation, Senshi chimed in, "If you're dealing with ghosts, I know how to make holy water. Want to learn?"
"Holy water? That works too. Might as well learn both. This dungeon was once the Millennium Kingdom, right? There must be plenty of ghosts here."
"Exactly. Since you're interested, I'll teach you Lightning Chain first."
"No need for lightning—my body's bioelectricity should suffice. Please teach me gravity magic first."
"Sure!"
While Marcille instructed Bai Mo, Senshi and Chilchuck worked together to process the freshly killed Blazing Crimson Feather Eagle. They collected all the feathers, planning to craft a cloak or garment, while the meat was prepared for dinner.
Seeing Senshi about to boil the meat, Bai Mo spoke up, "Senshi, can I have half? I've got some cooking skills—let me try making something tasty."
"Of course! You're the one who took them down, after all. Each of these eagles weighs over a hundred pounds. I was worried about carrying all this, but with your spatial magic, it's no problem."
"I'm planning to make Crimson Feather Eagle vegetable stew tonight. I'll gather some wild greens and ferns—want me to bring you some?"
"In that case, I'll make grilled skewers. Roasted bird should be delicious."
"Sounds good. Just remember, these eagles are highly fire-resistant, so watch the heat."
"Don't worry, I've got it covered."
