Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: Sora, Gradually Changing

After dinner, Rindō Kobayashi bid farewell and left.

Now fully embracing her roles as both White Mo's woman and his assistant, Rindō had adapted astonishingly quickly. After all, her man had both power and looks—perhaps a little lacking in ambition, but that was a trait Rindō found herself liking even more.

Men with deep ambition were often heartless and cruel. They rarely gave a woman any true sense of security. But White Mo's trust and warmth toward her, during both their shared question-answering time and intimate moments in the kitchen, made her deeply satisfied.

Since her man wanted to reform the culinary world, as his woman, she naturally intended to do her part as well.

It was just a pity… she didn't get to completely "devour" her meal this time. Perhaps she needed to gather some allies of her own too.

Thinking about White Mo's dinosaur-like physique, Rindō, sitting in the car, instinctively licked her tiger tooth with a flirtatious gleam in her eye.

"I wonder if Momo will break down crying after such a 'shock'—just imagining it is fun! Maybe I should try seducing her next time?"

"And those three girls from Polar Star Dorm… That Tadokoro Megumi and Sakaki Ryoko seem just his type~"

With that thought, Rindō's eyes fell on her slime companion.

"Hmph~ That Tohru is probably even bigger than me. What a giant-boob lover, huh!"

If White Mo knew what Rindō was thinking, he'd be crying out his innocence.

He wasn't some kind of breast-obsessed pervert—he simply liked all cute girls equally!

Back home, after Rindō left, only three people remained: White Mo, Tohru, and Sora.

Tohru's sudden appearance in the home made Sora a bit uncomfortable and slightly displeased.

In her mind, this house belonged to her and her brother. Why was there suddenly another woman?

But once she found out Tohru was here to protect White Mo, Sora forced herself to suppress her jealousy and tried to get along.

After all, compared to her own little feelings of dissatisfaction, her brother's safety was far more important.

If she lost her brother, what meaning would this home even have?

Thus, her feelings toward Tohru kept twisting and turning like a roller coaster ride.

"U-Um… Tohru-oneechan, wanna play a game together?"

"Hmm? A game?" Tohru looked at the two controllers Sora was holding and tilted her head. "Sorry, I've never played before."

After dinner, White Mo usually trained his body out on the balcony. Meanwhile, Sora would watch TV, occasionally sneaking glances at her brother in a tank top.

But deep down, she was beginning to yearn for change too.

Though she was happy her brother always shielded her from everything, she didn't want to become a burden.

Since White Mo refused to tell her about the worlds he traveled through, she didn't want to pry or leak his secrets.

White Mo was well aware of how Sora and Tohru were getting along—even from the balcony.

But for now, he had no plans to involve Sora in his interdimensional missions.

She was still too young, and her health had been frail since childhood. Although she was something of a prodigy, he hoped she could simply enjoy a peaceful childhood.

As for involving her in his world-traveling adventures… that could wait until she was an adult. Then she could choose for herself.

Tohru's presence didn't cause any major disruptions.

Thanks to Sora's intentional kindness, Tohru quickly blended into the household.

The next morning, White Mo walked Sora to school. Dressed in a maid outfit, Tohru waved them off at the door before heading back inside to clean the house with magic.

Once the chores were done, she used a portal granted by White Mo to travel to the Gourmet World and begin her duties there.

"Don't worry, I'll teach you!" Sora had said cheerfully before.

Now, with Tohru around, Sora no longer wanted to simply hide behind her brother.

Knowing what White Mo was doing, she was determined to grow stronger, to change.

Her newfound resolve surprised even Tohru. The dragon gently stroked Sora's white hair.

"You're a good little sister."

"Don't worry, I'll protect White Mo. There's no one in this world who can hurt him while I'm around."

Though Tohru said this with confidence, Sora couldn't help but worry.

After all, they lived in a modern world. If someone used guns—or worse, heavy artillery—how could she be sure even Tohru could stop it?

Her mind flashed with a disturbing image of her brother being ripped apart by water pipes like some doomed president from a dark political drama.

The very idea horrified her.

Tohru, of course, couldn't fully understand a little girl's thoughts.

Compared to the chaotic modern world, this vibrant and energetic new Gourmet World felt far more refreshing.

Tohru, hidden within the Gourmet World, could now be summoned by White Mo at any time—perfect for dealing with future powerful enemies.

But Sora had no idea about any of this.

"Niichan, isn't Tohru-oneechan supposed to go with you? What if there's a sudden attack?"

"Don't worry," White Mo smiled, "Tohru's not just some ordinary bodyguard. She's always close by, only appearing when truly needed. That's what makes it safer."

"R-Really?" Sora recalled those so-called 'elite guards' in dramas who could supposedly kill in 0.2 seconds—yet always died first, completely useless.

Still, if her brother said it was okay, she'd believe him.

After dropping Sora off at school and reassuring her, White Mo left.

He wasn't being careless—last night, he had already asked Tohru to cast a magical protection spell on Sora.

Not to mention assassins or home-made weapons—even if someone fired a DIY gas-tank cannon, it might not scratch her.

But despite all this, Sora's lingering worry was noticed by her close friends: Yui Funami and Akari Akaza.

When asked, Sora didn't reveal anything.

Some things can be said. Some things can't. And Sora understood the difference.

But deep down, she had already made up her mind to train her body—at the very least, to become fast enough to run away.

She refused to be a burden to her brother!

Unbeknownst to White Mo, Sora had mentally directed a 42-episode series of business wars, crime dramas, and gunfights in her head.

If he had known, he probably would've been even happier.

Because what he was doing wasn't some financial thriller…

It was a full-blown fantasy gourmet action adventure!

And Sora's willingness to change—wasn't that a good thing?
