I walked out that door with my back bag and Espurr on my shoulder.
As I was walking through Vaniville Town, I was suddenly ambushed by a little kid, who said, "I challenge you to a battle.!" when we looked at each other.
The kid, who looked like he could be 10 or 11 years old, then threw a pokeball and from it burst out a Bunnelby.
I then looked at Espurr and said, "Are you ready for our first battle?" and Espurr just nodded and levitated and acssu a battle position across from Bunnelby.
"Now the battle between Joseph and... eh, what's your name again?" said the kid.
"Evan."
"Alright! Now, the battle between Evan and Joseph will now comerse."The kid, Joseph, picked up a stone and said,"I will throw this rock, and when it reaches the pavement, the battle starts."
The rock starts spinning in the air before finally it reachs the ground with a thud.
Joseph yells to his pokemon, "Bunnelby, use Tackle."
"Espurr use Fake Tears"
Espurr then dots a tearful look, and Bunnelby's Sp. Defence is lowered by two stages. Also, it is more hesitant to attack Espurr, but due to the momentum of Tackle, it still hit Espurr, doing a little damage and making my pokemon back up a little.
Before Bunnelby can go away from Espurr, I order a quick Confusion, which is sure to hit due to Joseph's pokemon being so close.
"Bunnelby,are you okay?" said a concerned. Joseph and Bunnelby looked at him and nodded defiantly.
"Espurr, let's go for another Fake Tears, then use Disarming Voice."
Joseph then ordered Bunnelby to go for a Leer and follow up with a Mud-slap.
Both pokemon used their status moves at the same time, and both pokemon's stats were lowered: Espurr defence by one stage and Bunnelby Sp. Defence by another two stages.
Bunnelby then used Mud-slap, while Espurr used Disarming Voice, which shattered Bunnelby's move and continued to hit Bunnelby, which was knocked back.
It tried to stand up, but ultimately, it fell to the ground knocked out.
Joseph then picked up his pokemon and moved up to me and extended his hand for a handshake.
After I shaked his hand, Joseph congratulated me for my win and then gave me 50 pokedollars.
"I guess we need a little more training,huh?"
I replied to him, "While you didn't win, I really enjoyed our battle."
We then exchanged goodbyes, and I continued to the Professor's Lab, but not before going to the Pokemon Centre to heal Espurr.
After walking through Route 1 for half an hour, I started to see in the horizon the lab of Professor Sycamore. Within a few minutes, I was in front of the lab and knocked on the door, which was answered by the professor's assistant, Sophie.
"Oh, Evan, how are you? Are you here to see the professor?"
"Hello, Sophie. I am fine, just won my first battle, and yes, I am here to see the professor." I said with a smile.
Sophie then said good job and told me to follow her to see the professor.
Then we went to a room with very high-tech equipment. I saw Sycamore standing near one with his Garchomp by his side, and I said to him, once he noticed me.
"Hello, professor."
"Hi, Evan. How are you and Espurr?"
"We are fine. I just wanted to see you and say goodbye before going on my journey."
"I am glad you came to see me and I also wanted to say goodbye, before your leaving. You know you remind me more off your father everyday...But enough of that, I hoe that you enjoy your journey, win a lot of battles, but most importantly have fun. Don't be so consumed in battles, because the journey is almost as important as the destination."
After that the Professor went with me to the door and we said our final goodbyes. At the end of the road, I turned around and waved my hand at the professor and his assistant, which they replied the same way, before finally entering Route 2.
