"Done," I replied without hesitation.
A startled laugh crackled through the phone. "Well, well. That was easier than I expected."
I tightened my grip on the phone, keeping my voice steady despite the turmoil inside me. "Where and when?"
"Eager, aren't we?" Gideon's voice dripped with smugness. "I need to see the money first."
"And I need to know the information is worth it," I countered. "I'm not handing over five million for gossip."
Leo hovered nearby, concern etched on his face. I turned away slightly, focusing on the negotiation.
"Ten million," Gideon suddenly said.
"Excuse me?"
"I've reconsidered. Ten million. What I know about you and the Dubois family is worth at least that much."
I clenched my jaw. "You're getting greedy, Uncle."
