Chapter 9 - Say it. Just Once.

Late Evening----Dimitri's Offie

Lev walked in, nervous energy buzzing under his skin.

He hadn't wanted to come. But Dimitri had texted him only one line.

We need to talk. Alone.

No threats. no drama. But Lev knew the tone. He had arranged for Matev to stay the night at his mother's. Said it was for fun. In reality, he just wanted him safe---away from Dimitri's sharp instincts.

He stepped into the office. Dimitri was at the desk, back turned, glass in hand.

Silence. The tension was thick ''Close the door,'' Dimitri said without turning.

Lev did. Click.

Dimitri finally turned around. ''I gave you time,'' he said quietly. ''I didn't push. I Waited.''

Lev looked at the floor. Dimitri stepped closer. ''But you're still lying to me.'' Lev clenched his jaw. ''I'm not---''

''You are.''

Dimitri voice was deeper now. Controlled. Dangerous. ''You disappeared for years, Lev. showed up with a kid that looks exactly like me. same age as that night.''

Lev took a shaky breath. ''Please don't do this.''

''Do what?'' Dimitri stepped right up to him. ''Ask questions? Want the truth?''

lev turned to leave. But Dimitri grabbed his wrist. Firm. Not rough. Lev flinched. ''Let go.''

'' No.'' His grip tightened slightly. ''You don't get to run again.'' Lev looked up ---- and his eyes betrayed everything. Guilt. Fear. And a flicker of something else. Longing.

Dimitri saw it. ''You're terrified I'll find out,'' he said, voice soft now. ''Why?'' Lev tried to pull away. ''I said let go.''

Dimitri didn't. Instead, he stepped in---chest to chest. ''Say it,'' he whispered.

Lev froze. ''What?"'

''Say he's mine.''

Lev breath caught. ''I------I can't caught.''

''Say. It.'' Dimitri hand moved to his waist. Tight. Possessive. His scent ---- stronger now. Controlled rut. He was holding back, but only just.

Lev voice cracked. ''If I do....everything changes.''

''It already has.'' ---------------------------

There was silence. Then Dimitri leaned in, mouth near lev's ear. ''You think I 've been sleeping with other Omegas?''  he whispered. Lev didn't aswear. Dimitri murmured, his tone dangerous and seductive. ''I haven't touched anyone.'' He pulled back just enough to look Lev in the eyes. ''Because all I can think about.... is you.''

Lev's knees nearly buckled. ''Don't do this,'' he whispered. ''Don't use that night against me.''

''I'm not,'' Dimitri said. ''But if you lie to me again...I will.''

Lev throat tightened. ''you'd blackmail me?'' Dimitri nodded. ''Only if you make me.''

Lev wanted to scream. Cry. Run. But instead---his hand Dimitri shirt. ''I hate you,'' he breathed.

''No, you don't.''

And then?

The kiss. Hard. Rough. Desperate.

Years of tension. Regret. Lust. Pain. All in one brutal, addictive pull. Lev broke it first----- painting, eyes wild. ''I shouldn't be here.''

''But you are.'' And just like that, Dimitri picked Lev up and dropped onto the couch. No words. No more space.

Clothes? Gone. Touch? Burning. Every kiss? A question. Every gasp? An answer.

Dimitri kissed down Lev's chest, his voice low and full of range and want. ''You tried to erase me,'' he said. ''You thought I'd forget.''

He moved lower.

''But you marked me that night.''

Lev whimpered, torn between fear and pleasure. ''And now?'' Dimitri whispered, looking up from between Lev's legs. ''You're going to pay for that mistake.''

Fade to black. Intimate. Raw.

Later ------ hours later ----- Lev lay there, breath shallow, covered in Dimitri's scent.

His body ached. His heart even more. And as Dimitri pulled Lev close, arm possessive across his waist....

Lev thought just one thing:

It's over.

He knows.

He just hasn't said it yet.
