Chapter 73: A Light-Form Flesh Tissue?
Jiang Zhe ended the video call.
He stepped onto his Mist Shadow Shuttle and flew back to the Jiang family estate. After spending some time with his family, he returned to his small courtyard.
Sitting in his study, he gazed at the gradually brightening night sky, lost in thought, mainly sorting out the timeline in his mind.
It was January 15, 2060.
The events on Earth would be influenced by his actions—this butterfly effect might delay the rampage of the Golden-Horned Beast by a few days. But things happening in the universe would not be affected by him.
By now, a team from the Nolan Mountain family should have already passed through the wormhole or started purchasing ancient star charts of the "Milky Way—Void Region."
Two years and eight months... and the captain already reported back to the family, so the Nolan Mountain family's fleet will arrive in three months.
Let me think, the specific dates should be...
Thanks to advancing to Star-level 9, Jiang Zhe's memory was incredibly sharp, easily recalling details from his previous life.
November 23, 2062, 9 AM!
February 21, 2063!
Roughly these two key points. But I've already set up a planetary defense system across the solar system. It'll keep them out at the edges and stop them from reaching Earth.
In the Nolan Mountain family's Karlo Empire, which is a low-tier civilization, they rank third among Black Dragon Mountain's 500 vassal states. The strongest monarch is only a Domain Lord, and Nolan Mountain is the third family in that nation...
Before his Silver-Clad Clone returned, dealing with their advance fleet would be easy.
Plus, if I just spend 5 mixed yuan units to hire five two-star mercenaries (Domain Lord level) from the Mercenary Alliance, they could completely wipe out the Nolan Mountain family. Their monarch wouldn't dare make a sound.
But timing is key. I'll have to destroy their advance fleet, register Earth's sovereignty in advance, and juggle all three aspects to ensure no one slips through the net and creates future troubles for Earth.
Jiang Zhe scratched his head, visibly annoyed.
Whatever. Once Luo Feng grows stronger, he'll be Earth's true leader. These hassles can be his responsibility.
Power comes with responsibility—nothing wrong with that.
He then glanced at Oriana, who was cultivating by absorbing a Grade C item, and asked:
"Where is the Silver-Clad Clone now? It's been three and a half years since they set out. Are things still going smoothly?"
Oriana answered:
"It's going fairly well. We're lucky most long-distance wormholes still exist. A few short-distance ones disappeared, but they only span hundreds to tens of millions of light-years, so it just adds a few more months of travel."
"However, our travel time has already exceeded the original estimate..."
She hesitated, unsure whether to continue this risky venture.
Jiang Zhe waved dismissively.
"No problem. We still have 11 years. How much longer is the remaining journey expected to take?"
"There are two more wormholes left. If both are intact, we'll reach the destination in eight months. If not, it will take about two years and four months."
Jiang Zhe quickly did the math.
It's taken roughly six years so far... As for their return, whether they fly back or die and come back via special means that recall the divine crystal, it shouldn't take another six years.
So the Silver-Clad Clone should return by at the latest 2068?
He nodded slightly.
"That's acceptable. Proceed. Stay on guard."
After giving the order, Jiang Zhe returned to his inner world—still trying to figure out that mysterious rainbow-like light.
"Is this really just meant to enlighten intelligence?"
He stared at the foot-long illusionary rainbow light on the ground and shared his senses with Oriana and the Silver-Clad Clone, asking them to help analyze it.
With their talents as Masters of Matter and Life, they were perfect for dissecting the essence of things, with top-tier research abilities.
After a while, Jiang Zhe asked:
"So, what do you two think?"
The Silver-Clad Clone's thoughts had long since synced with him, but he was mainly waiting on Oriana's view.
"Master, it doesn't seem like a beam of light at all. It feels more like... more like..."
"Spit it out. Why the pressure? I'll believe you no matter how absurd it sounds!"
"It looks like... a clump of flesh!"
Jiang Zhe slapped his forehead.
"Then that's settled—it really must be a clump of flesh!"
A piece of flesh in light form? Could the Lord of Flesh actually be a giant of light?
Staring at this "flesh of light," a sudden inspiration struck him.
With space-time talent and enhanced comprehension, using this as a vessel to carve out a three-corpse clone could be excellent!
Especially since the Ancient Tree already neutralized any hidden dangers within this flesh...
Jiang Zhe rubbed his chin, looking at the rainbow light on the ground, the Mixed Yuan Umbrella on the table, and the "Minor Three-Corpse Enlightenment Sutra." His thoughts instantly became clear.
Just then Oriana said:
"Master, Luo Feng sent a message—he'd like to visit you."
"Isn't he busy preparing for his wedding? His girlfriend must be pregnant by now."
Outside in the study, Oriana wore a strange expression.
How did Master change the topic to Luo Feng's girlfriend? And how does he even know she's pregnant, never having met her?
She searched online, found traces from Luo Feng's family, and confirmed that Xu Xin really was pregnant.
Her expression grew even stranger, but she still praised through the mind link:
"Master, your foresight is extraordinary."
Just then, two more messages arrived.
"Master, Thunder God and Hong also wish to visit you."
"Forget it. I was planning to let the three of them enjoy themselves for a couple of months, but since they're all rushing here, none of them get a break now."
Jiang Zhe tossed the Minor Three-Corpse Enlightenment Sutra back on the stone table and left his inner world.
"Anna, prepare the ship. Get an Enlightened Beast from the old man. Also message Luo Feng, Hong, and Thunder God—tell them to ascend and wait. I'll take them into space."
A dozen minutes later, the C9 spaceship lifted off from Lanling Base City, first stopping by Jiangnan Base City to pick up Luo Feng.
"A C9-grade alloy ship, with obvious mechanical clan style. Looks brand new, can't be long since it left the factory!"
"That rascal Jiang definitely has already been to space!"
"Luo Feng, don't envy him. This ship is way worse than your teacher's Cloud Contact Vine Ship!"
Luo Feng glanced around the ship's interior, listening to Babata rant in his mind, and gave a helpless smile.
If it has anything to do with Jiang Zhe, Babata always acts like he's lost his mind.
Sure, his teacher's ship was great—but it couldn't move. Jiang Zhe had stellar-level slaves, clearly not just sitting on Earth waiting for a miracle.
As Babata ranted on, Luo Feng walked through the corridor into the cockpit.
The hundred-square-meter cabin only held a graceful young man seated on a leather sofa, with a brass mechanical lady standing respectfully behind him.
Babata fell silent, like a mouse seeing a cat.
The sudden quiet brought Luo Feng relief, though he was awkward about how to greet Jiang Zhe.
Seeing his hesitation, Jiang Zhe smiled and spoke first:
"We're both from the Cloud Contact Vine lineage. I just joined a bit earlier. Mind if I call you 'Junior Brother'?"
"That's exactly how it should be, Senior Brother," Luo Feng readily agreed.
Jiang Zhe's smile deepened. He stood and gestured:
"Come, Junior Brother, have a seat. I still need to pick up Hong and Thunder God. After that, we're heading into space."
"Into space?" Luo Feng was surprised. "How long will that take?"
With Xu Xin pregnant and the wedding plans underway, he couldn't afford a months-long trip.
Jiang Zhe noticed his concern and laughed.
"A day or two, at most three to five. Depends on the situation, but it won't exceed ten days."
Luo Feng relaxed, letting Babata send a message to Xu Xin and his family.
After chatting casually, they stopped by a mountain valley in the Kunlun Mountains to pick up Thunder God. The lively guy immediately made the ship's atmosphere cheerful.
But Jiang Zhe was mildly annoyed that Thunder God kept trying to sell him on marrying his daughter... was her name Lei Lei? Apparently she'd settled in Lanling Base City.
"Thunder God, how many levels have you advanced in your domain? Have you grasped lightning laws yet?"
Instant silence—followed by embarrassment.
Thunder God wilted, forcing a smile.
"Ah... two levels. That's pretty decent, right?"
Jiang Zhe didn't answer, turning to ask:
"What about Hong?"
"Domain level three. I'm sure he's not much beyond me!"
Strangely, that made Thunder God feel better again.
"Domains? On tiny Earth, two people at planetary level already have domains?"
Babata suddenly appeared beside Luo Feng, scanning Thunder God indifferently, then staring intently at Jiang Zhe.
"You wouldn't also be—"
Crack!
Electric serpents danced through the cabin, a terrifying pressure filling the air.
Thunder God and Luo Feng were shocked. The flickering arcs seemed strong enough to vaporize them instantly.
"Is mastering a domain really that hard?"
"This is a ninefold thunder domain, fused with the laws of lightning and time!"
