Chapter 65 - Heartbroken

Aryan looked at her seriously.

"You said you came here to tell me something important. What is it?"

Aanya nodded. "Yeah… actually…"

She suddenly paused, looked around, and asked,

"By the way, Mr. Aryan… where is Max?"

Aryan stared at her seriously.

"Did you come all the way here to ask about Max?"

Aanya quickly shook her head.

"No… no. I didn't mean that," she said nervously. "I came here to—"

Aryan interrupted calmly.

"Max is at my friend's house. He'll stay there for a few days."

"Oh… okay," Aanya said softly.

Aryan kept looking at her, waiting.

Aanya looked back at him. Suddenly she felt very nervous.

She took a deep breath.

"Mr. Aryan… I told you earlier that I came here to tell you something important. And that is…"

She paused again and looked straight into his eyes.

"That is… about us.

Aryan suddenly looked at her carefully.

Aanya gave a nervous smile.

"Mr. Aryan… I usually don't believe in love at first sight. Even though, as you know, I watch a lot of dramas and serials, I always thought things like that don't really happen in real life."

Aryan listened quietly.

"But," she continued softly, "I always wished to have a beautiful love story in my own life… and that wish came true after meeting you."

Aryan froze.

"When I first met you, I felt a strange feeling," Aanya continued,"I never thought I could fall in love with someone so easily…

Aryan kept staring at her.

"I thought it was just attraction. I believed that eventually I would forget you. But… I was wrong."

Aryan's expression slowly changed.

"I don't even know when that attraction turned into love."

Aryan looked shocked.

"Day by day, my love for you kept increasing," she said softly. "I always wanted to meet you again, but I never got the chance. And I also know you wouldn't even remember me… so I was afraid to meet you."

Aryan looked away for a moment.

"And finally," Aanya continued with a small smile, "when I got the chance to meet you again, I was the happiest person in the world."

Aryan looked at her again.

"Because after five years, I was finally meeting you."

"And at first I thought you would never get close to me," she said quietly. "I thought you would never love me, and we would never be together."

Aryan stared at her silently.

Aanya looked down.

"But eventually… we became close. And now I know a lot about you… and even you love—"

Suddenly Aryan raised his hand.

"Wait a minute."

Aanya immediately looked at him.

Aryan frowned and said,

"What are you saying? Are you alright?"

Aanya stopped smiling and looked confused.

"Yes… but why are you asking me like that?"

Aryan replied coldly,

"I asked just to find out whether you are in your conscious state or not."

Aanya was shocked by his tone.

After a short pause, she said quietly,

"I am in my senses."

Aryan nodded slightly.

"Good."

Then he continued coldly,

"Then do you even know what you are talking about?"

Aanya fell silent.

Aryan continued,

"What is this 'we' you are talking about? And what is all this love at first sight, attraction, closeness, and love?"

His voice became sharper.

"What exactly are you saying, Aanya?"

Aanya looked at him helplessly.

"When did all this happen between us?"

"Mr. Aryan…" she tried to speak.

But Aryan cut her off.

"What? Have you lost your mind, Aanya?"

She froze.

"You mean love between us?" Aryan said sarcastically.

"When did that happen?"

He shook his head slightly.

"It looks like you have imagined things in your mind."

He paused and then said firmly,

"But no problem. Let me make things clear."

"I have never loved you."

Aanya stood there in shock.

"And I never will," Aryan continued coldly.

"So it would be better if you clear this nonsense from your mind and stop this foolishness."

Aanya slowly looked up at him.

"Foolishness?" she repeated softly.

Aryan looked at her.

"Up until now, everything I told you… do you think it's foolishness?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Aryan replied bluntly,

"Then what else should I call it?"

Don't tell me you came all the way here just to say this."

Aanya stood there, completely shocked.

After a pause, she spoke in a trembling voice, trying hard to hold back her tears.

"Mr. Aryan… what happened? Why are you talking like this? Did something happen… or did—"

Aryan immediately cut her off.

"Nothing happened."

Aanya fell silent.

After a moment, she spoke softly,

"But Mr. Aryan… I thought even you loved me."

Aryan replied coldly, holding back his own emotions,

"You're wrong."

Aanya's eyes filled with tears.

"But Mr. Aryan… what about all the things that happened between us? Don't tell me you never cared about me."

Aryan turned his head away, avoiding her eyes.

Aanya continued desperately,

"When I was stuck in that room, you came to help me. And that night when I wanted to go outside alone at midnight, you didn't let me go alone, you came for me."

"And when Aravindh uncle was about to hit me… why did you stop him?" she asked, her voice breaking.

Then suddenly she shouted,

"You all did that because of me!"

Aryan replied calmly but firmly,

"Even if someone else had been there

instead of you, I would have done the same."

Aanya suddenly felt as if her whole world had stopped.

She looked at him with watery eyes.

"I didn't feel bad when you said you don't love me," she said slowly. "But when you said you would have done the same even if it were someone else… I never expected that."

Aryan turned his head away, holding back his emotions.

Aanya continued,

"I thought I knew everything about you."

Aryan immediately cut her off.

"Seriously? What do you actually know about me?" he said bitterly.

"Other than what I eat, what I do… what else do you know?"

Aanya looked at him silently.

Aryan continued, "you know nothing about me."

Aanya wiped her tears.

"Fine," she said quietly. "I don't know anything about you. Are you happy now?"

Aryan remained silent.

After a pause, Aanya spoke again.

"Do you know why I came here so urgently?"

Aryan looked at her.

"My family wants me to get married."

Aryan suddenly became shocked.

"What?" he asked slowly.

Aanya nodded, crying.

"Yes. I'm getting married this month. I didn't have much time… so I came here to tell you my feelings."

Aryan didn't know what to say.

Aanya looked at him desperately.

"Tell me… what should I do? Should I marry the person my parents chose?"

Aryan clenched his fists.

Inside, he wanted to say no.

But suddenly memories flashed through his mind—

their age difference,

society,

His trauma.

After a painful pause, he said quietly,

"Then… you should probably marry him."

Aanya was completely stunned.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"It was my mistake to love a person like you," she cried.

"A person who only thinks about himself and doesn't care about anyone else!"

She shouted through her tears,

"You don't deserve my love, Mr. Aryan Mehra!"

Aryan looked at her, silently holding back his emotions.

"Do you even know how much I loved you?" Aanya cried.

Aryan's eyes filled with pain.

"People say the person you love the most hurts you the most," she continued.

"And today you proved that to me, Mr. Aryan Mehra."

Her voice broke.

"I'm ashamed that I ever loved you."

Aryan stood there silently, not showing his emotions.

Aanya cried helplessly.

He couldn't even bear to see her crying.

But he forced himself to stay still.

Finally he said coldly,

"If there's nothing else… you can leave."

Aanya suddenly stopped crying.

She looked at him seriously.

Without saying anything, she turned and went to her room.

Aryan watched her, confused.

A few minutes later, she came back with her bag.

She stood in front of him and said coldly,

"I left my bag here, Mr. Aryan Mehra. And I will not leave anything behind that belongs to me."

Aryan remained silent.

She turned to leave.

But suddenly she stopped.

Without looking at him, she said,

"Remember one thing, Mr. Aryan Mehra… I waited five years to come to your house."

Her voice became firm.

"But from now on… I will never step into your house again."

And with that, she walked out.

Aryan watched her leaving.

This time, he couldn't stop a tear from falling from his eyes.

Outside the house, Aanya looked back at the house once… and burst into tears again.

The cab driver saw her crying and felt bad for her.

He quietly took her bag, placed it in the trunk, and started the car.

Aanya sat in the cab, crying silently while remembering every word Aryan had said.

Meanwhile, inside the house—

Aryan stood there, completely broken.

He whispered softly,

"I'm sorry, Aanya…"

"I never wanted to hurt you."

Tears rolled down his face.

"But if I stay in your life… I will only hurt you again."

He closed his eyes painfully.

"So it's better… that I stay away from you."

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Prerna slowly regained consciousness.

The nurse immediately informed everyone outside.

Devika, Aahil, and the others felt relieved and quickly went inside to see her.

Nandini immediately called Aryan.

At home, Aryan—still heartbroken—saw the call and answered.

"Aryan," Nandini said, "Prerna has regained consciousness."

Aryan stood up immediately.

"What? Really? I'll be there."

He quickly cut the call and drove to the hospital.

At the hospital room, Prerna slowly opened her eyes.

The first person she saw was Devika.

"Prerna…" Devika said softly.

Prerna looked at her weakly.

"Mom…"

Devika's eyes filled with tears."I should be the one who is angry, not you."

Prerna tried to speak.

"Mom… I—"

Devika gently stopped her.

"No need to talk about anything right now."

Then Devika smiled slightly and said,

"Look who is here."

Prerna slowly turned her head.

She saw Aahil and Ahad standing there.

"Aahil…" she said softly.

Aahil stepped closer.

"Prerna, how are you feeling now?"

Prerna gave a faint smile.

"Better."

Nandini then said kindly,

"Prerna beta, when we go home, I will make your favorite food."

Prerna smiled weakly.

After a moment, she looked around the room.

"Mom… where is Bhai?"

Devika suddenly became silent.

Just then, she noticed Aryan standing at the door.

Prerna followed her gaze.

"Bhai…"

Everyone turned and looked at him.
