Ezra's POV
As I did that, his eyes suddenly went dark. I really thought he would kill me too—just like that servant.
But then he only clenched his forehead for a few seconds and took a deep breath, looking at me again like nothing happened. Is he a psycho or something?
"I wanted to come in front of everyone and show that I had won and you are mine... but I couldn't," he said.
I kept looking at him as he spoke nonstop, telling me everything.
He said he really wanted to come, but he couldn't maintain his human form, so he needed to rest.
And that's the reason—even though he had won the competition—he didn't tell anyone. Instead, he offered a deal to those three brothers and told them if they did what he said, he would give them his protection.
And a dragon's protection means no one can mess with them. Still, after getting everything, they treated me like trash.
