Orion stood rooted in one place as his mind was discombobulated, both by Calista's response to the conversation involving his mother and the text message he just received.
"Fuck!" he exclaimed, putting his phone down and heading to Calista's room. But before he could turn around, the phone pined again reading; "This is Ryland, expect my message tomorrow, Wolfe."
His eyes widened at the new message. Ryland.
In his mind, Orion has already concluded that Ryland had believed him about his daughter's pregnancy and it was a thing of past, never in a million years, would Orion have Ryland's thought in mind.
"Shit!" he needed help, and he needed it now, be it advice or anything. But, one thing at a time, Calista needed him now.
Knocking gently on her door, he called out, "Calista?" he waited to hear shuffling in the room to indicate that she was coming to unlock the door, but no sound came. "Calista." He called out again.
