Orion's jaw clenched as he watched his mother hurried after Lilith, her heels clicking on the marble floor. The tension in the room was thick, he turned to his father, searching for some explanation in the older man's face.
"Dad, what just happened?" Orion asked, his voice low and strained, suddenly exhausted fromm everything.
His father sighed, running a hand through is slowly greying hair. "Lilith's outburst was uncalled for, I will have a talk with her, son. Makes sure she starts being civil with you and your wife."
Orion's fists tightened, "It has been from the beginning, you think she'll stop now?"
"It has gone on enough." His father replied, a hint of regret in his tone. "I should have done something sooner, I was only focused on Celeste. I'm sorry son."
Nodding slowly, Orion abruptly turned, "I need to go," grabbing his coat, "I have to get to Calista."
As he strode towards the door, his father called him, "Orion, this will be the last of it, I promise."
