Opening his eyes he found himself in front of a capsule machine. Everything else was pitch black, but somehow the machine and it's surroundings were lit up.
In bold text on a post it note read:
Turn The Knob
Below it was a horizontal twist knob that looked exactly like the ones from the machines at his local pizza shop.
Jack was dead, he knew it, but yet he felt alive. Slapping himself did nothing but cause a stinging pain that couldn't rival the club from the goblin.
Assuming he just had the weirdest final thoughts before death he walked a few steps towards the capsule machine and twisted the knob.
Immediately the surroundings changed from pitch black to the blackness of space, stars scattered sporadically. Multiple shooting stars flew towards Jack and caused him to panic; even in his death he still felt fear.
The invisible ground shook under his feet as all but one of the stars flying towards him drifted to other directions and the singular gray star flying towards him hit the machine to reveal a hand sized capsule.
Multiple rattling noises came from the machine as the background returned to black. The rattling stopped when a the gacha ball hit the flap that stops the prizes from shooting out.
Opening the flap, the gray ball fell out into Jacks other hand. Twisting it open created a resplendent light, blinding him.
In his hands was now a heavy spear, its hilt made of some sort of light metal and its tip sharp enough to cut the surrounding darkness.
With barely enough time to study the weapon in his hands he vanished and the darkness swallowed the machine.
*** Second Life
Water droplets echoed through the cave. Jack hadn't been able to hear them before, but he only survived in the cave for a few minutes.
This time his eyes were sharp and he felt like they pierced through the slightly lit up corridor. He could see the Goblin this time, its small stature made him wonder were it got its strength from.
For whatever reason Jack was alive again or at the very least alive in some sort of hell that makes him live through his final moments.
There was no fear in his body and he charged at the Goblin with his pristine spear; it's weight was too much for him to wield dexterously.
With no reaction from the goblin he pierced through its surprisingly thin hide.
Or maybe it's skin?
The more Jack thought about it the more it made him queasy.
Its green blood stained the spear head causing it to lose its previously clean look.
There was no smell which Jack was thankful for.

Floating words appeared in front of Jack after he let his spear drop to the ground in exhaustion after his quick burst of power.
The thought had always been in the back of his mind since he entered. After being attacked by a goblin would it be any stranger to gain a system?
Jack didn't know that the goblin would be what unlocked the system but it didn't matter.
"I Just Got A System."
Jack danced around happily scanning the interface while doing the conga. Only stopping when he heard a low growl.
He ran to grab his spear then turned towards the direction the sound had came from and found 2 goblins.
Knowing that his previous 'Strike First, Think Later' strategy worked he rushed into the goblins again. His spear was near the closer goblin before it crouched down to dodge the thrust.
Jack had no idea what to do after so he just followed up his first attack with a kick to the goblin, which landed, but had no effect.
The second goblin hit Jack in the calf causing him to collapse. With this being his second time taking an attack from a goblin's club he expected the pain, keeping his head straight and blocking the next attack.
Using the brief moment he had he swung the bottom end of his spear up and hit the goblins chin knocking it down.
While standing up he got hit by the second goblin which shattered his arm he was trying to use to get up with.
The pain was too much to even scream he just used his adrenaline to stab towards the goblin that just hit him, puncturing its heart.
[You have defeated Goblin, Level 1]
He fell down on his back and stared at the new screen while the second goblin's club flew towards his face behind the semi transparent screen.
***
The capsule machine was in front of him again.
As he looked at his hands he spoke his thoughts out loud.
"I can't die."
A smug grin appeared on his face realizing the gravity of the situation.
This story was really similar to a webnovel that he had read when he was younger.
He remembered some of the comments people made about it.
'How could anyone read a novel where the main character can never lose. This author needs a reality check. This is terrible.'
'The MC is crazy overpowered and has plot armor worst novel ever lmaoooooooo'
Sure the idea of never being able to really die was appealing, but when someone felt the pain of getting their head caved in it would change their opinion real quick.
He remembered when he saw his status for the brief time that he had a trait. Opening the status up he looked at the trait and found another screen pop up.
