"Girls, I would like to tell you something." Riley blurted suddenly in the middle of their conversation.
"It's good that you're ready to spill it now." Veda stared directly at her and nodded. Riley widened her eyes when she heard it and glanced between her two friends as they both stare at her.
"You…. knew?" Riley asked in a soft tone. She didn't know her friends have been watching her actions since the time they came.
"Of course, you've been acting strange since the time we came here." Ruby replied.
It's true Riley has really been acting strange since the conversation started. More like she wasn't her usual self. While they ordered their food she zoned out for few minutes before Veda called back her attention. Also, while they were eating, she would pick at her food for a short while before eating at her normal pace.
Her two friends noticed her attitude and decided to distract her with some funny conversations and that made her laugh so hard, but it wasn't permanent because she went back to her moody self after laughing.
"What's wrong? Is everything okay?" Ruby massaged her palm gently.
"I'm getting married." Riley finally spilled the beans while glancing between her friends.
"What! Wait wh…. What do you mean?" Veda raised her eyebrows with her face full of questions.
They both glanced at each other before staring back at Riley.
"I thought your focus is on achieving your dreams of becoming an architect." Veda asked with worry in her voice.
"Yes, it is, and I'm working on it." Riley affirmed strongly with a nod.
Ruby remained silent trying to figure out the whole situation as her back rest on the chair.
"But… why all of a sudden? I know it's not something you want to do now." Veda mumbled.
"It's a request from my mom. And I don't want to refuse it since she is always there for me. There... must be a reason she's deciding this all of a sudden." Riley sighed.
Her two friends glanced at each other before they sighed. They both knew how much her mother means to her. And as her best friends, they always support her decision and try to chime in advice, but this time they can't talk her out of it.
"Is he handsome?" Ruby blurted suddenly out of nowhere. Veda and Riley stared at her in silence before Veda hit her shoulders hard. "What's wrong with you? is that the only thing your brain can process right now?" Veda shaking her head and massaged her forehead.
"Why are you hitting me? I was only asking for a good reason." Ruby whined as she massaged her shoulders.
"What good reason could it be?" Veda scolded. "Is that all you care about? She later rolled her eyes.
"I…." Ruby pouted and folded her arms.
The three of them chatted for a while and tried to cheer up Riley's mood as they started fighting for the position of the chief bridesmaid that was brought up by Ruby, but with Riley's current mood, the conversation didn't go on for long.
Towards the evening time, the three friends went to shop for dresses to wear on a date. Since Riley already told them she'll be going on a date with him. She selected a few of classy dresses and more of unique casual wear. While the shopping went on, Ruby the busybody suggested for them to go to the undergarments section.
In a twinkle of an eye, Riley was dragged towards the lingerie section. Both Veda and Riley didn't know how the shopping got to this part, but they could sense trouble on the way. Because immediately they sighted the row for lingerie arrangements, Ruby started selecting different types of designs for Riley to try on.
"Here, try this wine-colored bodysuit, I think it's going to look sexy on you." Ruby chuckled.
Riley shrieked at once when she saw the design under the suit. It has a wide opened space under that doesn't cover the vaginal area.
"Ruby, are you crazy? Who's going to wear this?" She screamed in her tiny voice throwing the bodysuit back to her friend. Veda also took a look at the suit and saw the opened space under.
"Why are you so naughty? This is not the time to start picking this. Are you telling her to seduce him?" Veda scolded and threw the suit back to Ruby.
Ruby laughed out so loud with her hand on her stomach. "You both really can't a joke. It's a prank." I wouldn't even do this so early even if I wanted to. We have to know if he's a good match first." Ruby cleared her throat and returned the gown to its place. Riley and Veda rolled their eyes at her in disbelief. They both know she's capable of doing something that silly, but they weren't expecting it so soon.
"You should never have done that." Veda continue to scold Ruby with her arms folded.
"I was just…. trying to cheer her up." Ruby pouted before Veda hit her gently on her back.
"Veda, why would you hit me, I'm not a baby." Ruby whined.
"I think we have to leave now, Mason is waiting for me." Riley said to her friends while replying to a text on her phone. While the other two were arguing, Riley wasn't paying attention to them anymore and replied some of the text sent by Mason Brown. He noted to Riley he has something to say and to wait for him at the mall so he could pick her up, but Riley refused the offer at once and insisted for him to wait for her at his studio.
Due to Riley's love for art, she often visited Mason's studio to see his works.
Riley and her friends quickly packed up their orders to the cashier and made an arrangement for everything to be delivered to their houses, respectively. She and her friends said their goodbyes at the entrance of the mall while Riley took a taxi.
