"I just want Juta. Unless you kill me, that won't happen."
Ruto's declaration seems to further aggravate Amendiel, something dangerous flickering behind his eyes. The king lunges again, grasping Ruto's neck, and they both stagger until Ruto's back slams against a wall hard enough to crack the stone.
"Do you think I won't kill you?" Amendiel growls, and Ruto can feel the unnatural heat radiating from the king's grip—hot enough to burn.
Ruto glares back at him, refusing to flinch even as his vision starts to blur. Tension rises between them, boiling furiously like a storm about to break.
It snaps.
"Well now, this is fun." An amused voice cuts through the ominous energy between the enraged males.
Amendiel's head snaps toward Ignavar, gold still bleeding through his irises. "Fun?"
Ignavar smiles lazily, though his eyes remain sharp and calculating. "Your two best soldiers are tearing each other apart over the our most hated prisoner? Isn't it amusing?"
