Chapter 32 - “Rituals, Roses, and Ruin”

"Scene: (Whispers Beneath the Moonlight)__

The pale moonlight spilled across the terrace like liquid silver, shimmering on the marble floor and tracing the outlines of two hearts that seemed to beat in the same rhythm. The night air was cool and scented with jasmine, yet it carried the faint hum of energy—the kind that only existed when supernatural hearts collided.

Their lips had just parted after a kiss that lasted longer than time itself. For more than a minute, the world around them had ceased to exist. It was only them—two souls, bound by fate, trembling in the afterglow of something too sacred to name.

Luna, perched nearby on the table, flicked her tail in annoyance.

"Just stop it, you two," she huffed dramatically, her sapphire eyes widening. "You're making me feel single! Enough of this already!"

Prizey pulled away, her cheeks tinted pink as she tried to stifle a laugh. Xavier's low chuckle escaped first, deep and warm, and soon they were both laughing uncontrollably. Prizey turned toward Luna, who was sitting proudly, her fur gleaming like frost in the moonlight.

Prizey ran her fingers gently over Luna's head. "Aww, my cutie pie," she teased sweetly. "You know your grandson's too cute for his own good—how can I stop kissing him? It's not my fault, is it?"

That sent Xavier into fits of laughter so genuine that he fell to the ground, clutching his stomach, his laughter echoing through the night air. Even Luna couldn't hold back a snort of amusement.

Moments later, as the laughter faded into soft giggles, Prizey and Xavier stood by the terrace railing. The view of the distant forest shimmered under the moonlight—mysterious, almost alive. Fireflies glowed faintly below, dancing like fallen stars.

Xavier's expression softened as he turned to her. "Prize? If I may… should we head back? Everyone's probably waiting for us."

Prizey looked at him, the wind gently lifting her hair. "Hmm, okay," she murmured. Then, hesitating, she added, "But Xavier…"

He tilted his head, eyes glimmering with curiosity. "Yes, my dear? What is it?"

Prizey bit her lip, her voice turning small. "Actually… I told Aliyah everything."

Xavier blinked. "What? Seriously?" His tone was a mix of shock and disbelief.

Prizey lowered her gaze. "Yes… I was angry with you, so I… I just told her everything. I'm sorry."

For a moment, silence fell. Then Xavier chuckled lightly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, no worries. I'll just brainwash her."

Prizey's eyes widened. "Wait—what?! You can brainwash people?"

He smirked mischievously. "Well… yes. Why? Surprised?"

Her curiosity sparked instantly. "Tell me, what other powers do you have, huh?"

Xavier gave her a teasing look. "You'll know soon enough, sweetheart. But not now."

Prizey pouted, crossing her arms. "Nope, I want to know now."

He stepped closer, cupping her cheeks tenderly. "Sweetheart, don't be stubborn. I'll tell you everything—but first, we need to go."

After a long pause, she finally sighed. "Fine. Let's go then."

Xavier smiled softly. "Do you trust me?"

Prizey's voice was steady but filled with warmth. "More than my own life."

His eyes glowed faintly under the moonlight. "Good," he whispered. "Then hold me tight—and close your eyes."

Prizey laughed playfully. "Wow, are we about to enter some fantasy world or what?"

Xavier smirked. "If you keep being this cute, I might just eat you alive before we even get there."

Her eyes widened in mock outrage.

She glared at him.

"Oh really? So now you're planning to eat me?"

She pointed a finger at his chest. "Control the wolf inside you, or else—"

Before she could move away, Xavier swiftly pinned her against the wall, their faces only inches apart. His voice dropped low, teasing but husky. "Oh really? And if I don't… what will you do, hmm?"

Prizey's breath hitched. Her heart thumped wildly. "I… I'll—"

But she couldn't finish. Xavier's hand slipped around her waist, pulling her close as his nose brushed hers. Her eyes fluttered shut just as his lips found hers again.

This kiss was deeper—hungrier. The night seemed to shiver with it. The faint rustle of leaves, the hum of magic in the air—all faded until only the sound of their mingled breaths remained.

When he finally pulled back after what felt like seventy seconds, his voice came out rough and low. "My dear," he murmured against her lips, "your little stubborn acts are dangerous. If you keep teasing me like this… I'll end up devouring you for real."

His smirk was wicked, his eyes glowing faintly golden now. Prizey, breathless and flushed, kept her eyes closed, her heart hammering fast.

In that quiet moment, beneath the moon's watchful glow, it wasn't just love—it was a storm made of longing, danger, and the unspoken magic that bound their souls together.

And somewhere behind them, Luna cleared her throat loudly.

"Children," she muttered, "absolutely shameless."

Scene: (The Leap of Trust)___

Prizey still stood frozen, like a living statue carved out of moonlight. Her breath was shallow, her heart still racing from the storm of emotions Xavier had awakened inside her.

Xavier, on the other hand, watched her with open amusement, his gaze lingering on her flushed cheeks and tightly shut eyes. A slow, teasing smile curved his lips.

"So, my queen," he said softly, his voice dripping with mischief, "are you already scared of me? And here I thought I hadn't even done anything yet."

He took a step closer, clearly enjoying every second of her silence.

Prizey suddenly opened her eyes.

Without hesitation, she placed her hand firmly against his chest and pushed him back just enough to reclaim her space. Her eyes sparkled—not with fear, but fire.

"Oh, Mr. Bad Wolf," she scoffed, lifting her chin. "Do you seriously think I'm afraid of you? That's complete rubbish, okay?"

She folded her arms, confidence radiating from her.

"And stop daydreaming, mister."

Xavier crossed his arms too, raising a brow.

"Oh? Attitude?" he teased. "And that too, toward the Wolf King himself?"

Prizey smirked. "Yes—absolutely. And just so we're clear, in front of me, you're no king from any angle. Understood?"

With that, she walked toward the railing, resting her hands on it as she gazed into the night. The wind tugged gently at her hair.

Xavier burst out laughing, clearly impressed. He joined her at the railing, his laughter fading into a grin full of admiration.

"So," he asked, eyes glowing with excitement, "are you ready?"

Prizey didn't hesitate. "Always."

"I like that," he murmured.

He turned toward her and held out his arms. "Now hold me tightly… and close your eyes."

Trusting him completely, Prizey wrapped her arms around him and shut her eyes. Xavier began counting softly.

"One… two… three."

Before she could react, he leaped.

The air rushed past them as they plunged from the villa. Fear surged through Prizey for a split second—but instead of screaming, she clutched Xavier tighter, burying her face against him.

The moment their feet touched the ground, a deep boom echoed.

In a flash of blinding white light, Xavier transformed.

Where the man had been, a magnificent white wolf now stood—powerful, radiant, and otherworldly. Prizey found herself sitting atop his back, her hands gripping his thick fur.

Her fear vanished, replaced by pure amazement.

"Oh my gosh… wow!" she laughed breathlessly. "I like it. I really, really like it! Woohoo!"

She grabbed the wolf gently by the neck as he took off, running like a streak of moonlight through the shadows.

Moments later, with one powerful leap, they reached Max's house, landing effortlessly on the balcony outside Prizey's room.

As soon as they touched down, Xavier transformed back into human form.

Prizey barely had time to react before her eyes widened in shock.

Aliyah was sitting on the bed—completely still.

"Aliyah?" Prizey called, rushing forward. "Aliyah?"

No response.

Panic tightened her chest as she shook her friend gently. "Aliyah, please answer me!"

Before fear could consume her, Xavier stepped in, placing a calming hand on her shoulder.

"Relax, my dear," he said softly. "Everything is fine."

She turned toward him, breathing hard. "What's happening?"

"Time is frozen here," he explained calmly. "Only for a while—so no one suspects anything."

Prizey slapped his chest lightly, frustration mixed with relief.

"What kind of things do you keep doing, Xavier?"

He laughed sheepishly. "I'm sorry—but it was necessary."

He turned toward the door. "I'll go downstairs and sit at the dining table. You come with Aliyah in a bit."

Then he paused. "Oh—wait."

He walked back to Aliyah, placed both his hands gently on her head, and closed his eyes.

Prizey stared in shock. "What are you doing now?"

Xavier smiled faintly. "Brainwashing, dear."

"Oh," Prizey muttered. "I see…"

A bright light filled the room as Xavier whispered a spell. Moments later, Aliyah lay down peacefully on the bed, as if nothing had happened.

"Now what?" Prizey asked quietly.

"Nothing," Xavier replied. "I'm heading downstairs. Bring her with you."

Before leaving, he placed a soft kiss on Prizey's forehead and disappeared.

The moment he was gone, Aliyah stirred.

"Prizey?" she said, confused. "You were telling me something… about someone betraying you. Who was it?"

Prizey quickly took her hand, smiling gently.

"Nothing, Aliyah. Just some past trauma coming back. That's all. Come on—let's go downstairs. I'm hungry."

Aliyah frowned. "But Prizey—"

"Hey," Prizey interrupted playfully. "Nothing happened. Let's eat."

Aliyah sighed. "Okay… fine."

They walked downstairs together, where Xavier was already seated, calmly eating with the others. Prizey caught his eye and smiled—a smile filled with secrets only they shared.

She took her seat.

Aunt Sandra looked at her warmly. "Prizey, my dear—everything alright?"

"Yes, Auntie," Prizey replied softly. "Everything is going perfectly."

Sandra smiled. "Good to hear. Alright everyone, please continue your dinner."

As cutlery clinked and soft chatter filled the room, Prizey glanced once more at Xavier—her heart steady, her trust unbroken.

Because tonight, she hadn't just fallen from a balcony.

She had leaped—straight into destiny

Scene — (Deep within the Jungle Cave.)__

The jungle grew unnaturally silent as the three of them stood inside the ancient cave. Thick vines hung at the entrance like curtains guarding forbidden knowledge, and the air inside was cold, heavy—almost breathing.

At the center of the cave lay a massive stone slab. Upon it rested the body of a deer, unnaturally still, its eyes closed as if trapped between life and death. Strange symbols glowed faintly beneath its body—old magic, older than memory.

Master Shifu broke the silence first. His voice echoed softly against the stone walls, filled with confusion rather than fear.

"I still cannot understand what is truly happening," he said slowly. "Who are we fighting? Witches? Creatures? Or… an entirely unknown generation—one that has remained hidden from us until now?"

Ex-King Xavier stood beside him, his expression grave. The weight of centuries sat heavy on his shoulders.

"Shifu," he replied, "I know how critical this situation is. But to understand it fully, we need deeper research. What we know right now is not enough."

Xavier stepped closer to the stone slab, his sharp eyes fixed on the deer.

"At this moment, Masters, we have no clear evidence," he said firmly. "We don't even know if this phenomenon truly belongs to those creatures."

He paused, then added quietly,

"And we cannot ignore the dream reader either. There is a chance—however small—that both of these are connected."

The three of them stood around the stone, the flickering light of ritual torches dancing across their faces.

Master Shifu nodded thoughtfully.

"Xavier may be right," he said. "What he's suggesting… it is possible."

Ex-King Xavier let out a slow, frustrated breath.

"It's strange," he muttered. "The more we try to untangle the truth, the more complicated everything becomes. What is one supposed to do in such a situation… a human—"

The word had barely left his mouth when both Xavier and Master Shifu snapped their heads toward him in shock.

"A human?" they said together.

Ex-King Xavier froze for a split second before clearing his throat awkwardly.

"Oh— I mean— a wolf," he corrected quickly. "What is a wolf supposed to do, huh?"

He waved his hand dismissively.

"Forget it. Focus on the mission."

Then, as if nothing had happened, he continued,

"So, where was I?"

For a brief moment, the tension broke. All three of them exchanged looks—and unexpectedly, soft laughter filled the cave.

But the moment did not last.

Suddenly, the deer lying on the stone slab moved.

Just slightly.

Xavier's eyes widened.

"Grandpa—look. Your spells… they're working."

Master Shifu straightened instantly, his expression turning sharp and focused.

"We should continue," he said firmly.

Without another word, the three of them stepped closer to the stone. Ancient words left their lips as one, magic rising through the cave like a living force.

The symbols beneath the deer began to glow brighter.

And whatever truth lay hidden…

was finally starting to awaken.

The ritual continued without pause.

Ancient words flowed from their lips again and again, growing louder, heavier—until the air inside the cave began to tremble. The symbols carved into the stone burned bright silver, pulsing like a living heart.

And then—

BOOM.

A violent shockwave tore through the cave.

Dust exploded into the air as the stone slab cracked, magic collapsing inward with a thunderous roar. The body of the deer convulsed violently, light tearing through its form—

And in the next instant, the illusion shattered.

The deer was gone.

In its place lay Jack.

He gasped sharply, his chest rising and falling in wild, uneven breaths, as if he had just been pulled back from the edge of death itself. Sweat drenched his forehead, his fingers twitching as though still trapped between worlds.

"Jack!"

Xavier rushed forward, dropping to his knees beside him.

"Jack—can you hear me? Are you alright? Tell me—talk to me."

Jack's breathing stuttered.

Slowly… painfully… his eyelids fluttered open.

His gaze met Xavier's.

For a split second, Xavier froze—then relief flooded his face, raw and uncontrollable.

"You're back," he whispered. "You're really back."

He turned sharply toward the others, unable to hide his smile.

"Grandpa… Master… we did it."

For the first time in a long while, hope filled the cave.

Master Shifu allowed himself a small, satisfied nod.

"Well done, Xavier."

Then his expression shifted—calm, knowing.

"Now," he said quietly, "it is time for you to do what you must."

Xavier did not answer with words.

He only gave a subtle glance.

A single look.

And in the next heartbeat, both Ex-King Xavier and Master Shifu vanished—dissolving into thin air as if they had never been there at all.

Silence returned to the cave.

Xavier remained kneeling beside Jack, his expression unreadable.

Then—slowly—a mysterious smile curved upon his lips.

Scene Shift — Prizey's Room

Soft moonlight spilled through the window, bathing the room in silver calm.

Aliyah sat on the bed, watching Prizey carefully.

"Prizey," she said gently, "please tell me the truth. What were you trying to tell me earlier?"

Prizey didn't respond.

She stood near the window, holding her phone, her gaze fixed on Xavier's picture. A faint, almost secret smile rested on her lips—one filled with warmth, trust… and something dangerously deep.

Aliyah cleared her throat.

"Ahem. Everything's fine… right?"

Prizey finally turned slightly, about to speak—

When suddenly—

A piercing scream echoed from Aunt Sandra's room.

Both girls froze.

"Was that—?" Aliyah whispered.

Without another word, they ran.

Toward the scream.

Toward the unknown.

And toward whatever darkness had just awakened again.

Be continue...
