Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 -- Goddess Hidden in Silence

---

BlueMoon Palace – Dylan's Bedroom

The moonlight soaked the room in soft silver as Dylan lay resting against the silk cushions, his eyes half-lidded, a white bandage wrapped around his left shoulder, tinged faintly with pink from his healing wound. A cool breeze drifted through the cracked window, brushing against the tall velvet curtains.

Irin sat at his bedside, her brows furrowed in quiet concern as she wrung out a damp cloth and pressed it gently to his forehead. He winced slightly, but a lazy smile tugged at his lips.

"You're hovering again," Dylan murmured, voice rough but amused.

"You're wounded. I'm making sure you don't melt into your bed," Irin replied, carefully tucking the edge of his bandage.

He smirked. "If melting means you hovering over me like this, maybe I should stay hurt longer."

Irin rolled her eyes. "Do you want me to smack your other shoulder?"

Instead of replying, Dylan pointed at a nearby bowl. "Grapes."

She handed him the bowl. But Dylan didn't take it.

"Feed me."

She narrowed her eyes. "You have hands."

"They're tired."

"And a mouth."

"I'd rather open it for you," he said with a teasing grin.

With a huff and flushed cheeks, Irin plucked a grape and held it near his lips. Dylan leaned in, deliberately slow, and bit into it with a low hum. She fed him another and another, and somewhere between their quiet banter, the air shifted.

Between the fourth and fifth grape, she casually asked, "You're the Demon King, right?"

Dylan's eyebrow arched. "Hmm?"

She tilted her head. "But you don't have any horns… or fangs. Isn't that... demon stuff?"

He smirked, eyes glinting. "Do you want to see?"

Before she could answer, he grabbed her wrist and gently pulled her toward him. Irin gasped, losing her balance, and braced herself—only to find herself leaning over his chest.

"Do you?" he whispered, his breath fanning across her cheek.

"Dylan—" she tried to pull back.

But in one swift motion, he flipped her gently onto the bed, caging her beneath him. His arms rested on either side of her as he looked down, expression unreadable.

"I don't think reality works like your books," he said softly. "Demons don't always have horns or claws. Sometimes, we're just... cursed souls with broken crowns."

Irin blinked up at him, dazed.

He leaned closer. "Go on. Check."

Nervously, she reached up and brushed his hair aside, running her fingers through the tousled strands. No horns. No signs. Just warmth.

She smiled awkwardly. "You tricked me."

"Maybe," Dylan whispered—and pressed a soft kiss to her cheek. "But do you believe me now?"

Her cheeks flushed. "Mm…"

She pushed gently at his chest. "I-I should go prepare your medicine!"

And with a flustered huff, she slipped out from under him and practically ran toward the door. Dylan lay back against the pillow, chuckling under his breath.

"She's too easy to fluster."

BlueMoon Palace – Kitchen

Steam curled from the pot as Irin stirred the thick herbal soup, her thoughts tangled with everything Dylan made her feel. She bit her lower lip, smiling faintly.

Suddenly, a hand tapped her shoulder.

She turned—and froze. "You—!"

Another hand quickly covered her mouth. "Shh!" came a hushed voice.

In the dim glow of the kitchen lantern, Lia stepped into view, her face pale but urgent.

"Lower your voice," Lia whispered.

Tears pricked Irin's eyes. "Lia!" She hugged her fiercely.

"There's no time," Lia whispered. "Come with me."

"Where?"

"No questions. Hurry."

Without explanation, Lia grabbed Irin's hand and led her through the palace's back corridors. Under the cover of night, they slipped into the BlueMoon Magical Forest, the sky above cloaked in stars.

Finally, breathless and confused, Irin yanked her hand free. "Where are you taking me? I'm not going back to Heaven!"

Lia turned sharply. "You can't stay here either. I'm taking you somewhere safe. Away from both Heaven and the Demon Realm."

Irin stared at her. "What are you talking about? I am safe—with Dylan. And I won't leave him."

"You don't understand—" Lia stepped closer.

"No. You don't!" Irin's voice cracked. "Why are you acting like this?"

Lia's eyes filled with frustration and sorrow. "Because your powers haven't awakened yet. And without them, you're vulnerable. I can't protect you this time."

Irin's breath caught. "Powers?"

Lia clenched her fists. "I sealed them. Twenty-five years ago."

"…What?" Irin whispered.

"You've never been weak," Lia said with tears streaming down her face. "You're not just a fairy, Irin. You're the Goddess who was born 25 years ago. The one both realms are hunting."

Irin shook her head. "No. That's not me…"

"It is," Lia said firmly. "Let me explain."

Flashback Begins

Lia's voice softened, taking Irin—and us—into the past.

"I was little fairy. My parents found you, a crying baby near the edge of our village. You had a glow… something divine. On your wrist was a golden lily mark."

Lia looked away, her voice trembling. "We knew you were different. That demons were looking for a divine child. So my parents gave you to Fiona's family,Fiona look like young lady but actually she is a 125 year old Heaven lady...nearly same age as Xander..Fiona and Fiona parents protected you in their orphanage. They raised you like one of their own.But my parents didn't even tell truth to them."

"After years passed, I saw your tattoo glowing. I got scared—so Fiona and I got matching tattoos at the Lantern Festival, to confuse anyone searching for you."

"But later… your tattoo glowed again. Danger was too close. I couldn't risk it. So I used everything—all my magic—to seal your powers."I didn't even tell this secret to Fiona...also...I thought.... she's soo closer to Heaven realm...Xander, Ren...so I afraid.....But Fiona took cares you not just like a elder sister more than like a mother....

Lia's eyes darkened. "Since then, I lost my own abilities. My memories. Until the Magic Truth Pond showed me everything again."

---

Irin stepped back, tears falling. "So all this time… I thought I was weak. I thought I didn't matter. I—"

She broke off, her voice shaking.

Lia reached out. "You mattered to me more than anything. I only wanted to protect you."

"But why did Fiona's tattoo glow too?" Irin asked.

"I… don't know," Lia admitted. "Back then it didn't..."

Unseen by Either of Them…

A few meters away, hidden behind a shadowed tree, a tall figure watched silently.

Ren.

His expression was unreadable, but his eyes held one thought:

> She's the Goddess…

He had followed Lia, thinking she was up to something—but this… this changed everything.
