Like a lost puppy, Kayden wandered the palace corridors, trying to locate Thane's chambers.
He had no idea how he could forget the location so easily. Then again, it wasn't really his fault—the endless array of rooms in this damn palace weren't just hard to follow, they were deliberately confusing. And honestly, if he had to point fingers, he was sure Thane was behind it. The guy must've lured him into blindly following, only to ditch him halfway like a bastard.
"I don't think I'll ever understand that guy in my life. He's always frowning, no trace of happiness—like being happy is a curse word or something."
Still searching, Kayden tried to retrace his steps, hoping to return to his own room and curse his fruitless journey to solve mysteries that only led him nowhere. But once again, he found himself in an empty corridor—silent, dead-ended, and haunting.
