Kael nearly choked. "What?"
Reya didn't flinch. She looked annoyed, like explaining this was beneath her.
"You showed Ether response. That makes you dangerous. And here, dangerous men don't roam free."
Kael sat on the edge of the massive silk bed and rubbed his temples. "So what? I'm a stray dog now?"
"More like a stolen relic. Unclaimed property can be seized. Or destroyed."
"Lovely."
Reya reached forward and pressed two fingers to his chest. Heat bloomed beneath his skin—almost sensual. Almost.
"There. Temporary bond. You're mine, until I decide what to do with you."
