Both Yelena and Charlotte stood there, smiling confidently, fully convinced that Mika would give in and come with them obediently, like their own little prisoner of war.
But to their utter surprise, Mika actually jerked his hand free from Yelena's grip and stepped back with a defiant scowl.
"No way." He said flatly, his tone laced with indignation. "Absolutely not. There's no way I'm going with you two."
The mother and daughter blinked at him, momentarily stunned, while Mika crossed his arms and huffed, glaring at them like a child refusing to eat his vegetables.
"You think I don't know what'll happen if I set foot in your house? It'll be a nightmare. The second I get there, neither of you will leave me alone for even a moment."
"You'll cling to me constantly, pestering me to 'spend quality time,' making me do things, and sticking to my side like glue. I won't get a single second of peace. Not one!"
Charlotte pouted slightly. "That's not true...we wouldn't—"
