“Give me my dad’s ring, will you?”
Tarantula smirked as he stared at Rosica’s joyful face. Without answering, he raised his hand and brushed Rosica’s cheek.
“Did your dad tell you to bring it back?”
“No, he said he doesn’t need it. He said he wanted to abandon everything and go to a quiet place with my mother.” Rosica shook her head while sighing in dissatisfaction. Then, she smiled with her blue eyes shining and added, “But how can I do that? It’s such a waste…”
“It’s just like you to say that.”
“Yup. So give it to me.”
Rosica turned around, then, and walked up to a table positioned in the middle of the room. After nonchalantly pulling up a chair, she looked at the chessboard on top of the table and smiled.
“You still have such an elegant hobby. Do you want to play a round? I probably still won’t be able to beat you, right?”
Tarantula slowly walked up and sat across from Rosica. His eye persistently scanned Rosica’s face as she advanced a white pawn.
