Different thoughts swirled through my mind as I found myself locked in his gaze. I didn't want to believe it, yet the evidence was right before my eyes—there was no doubt the scent was coming from him.
Anger, confusion, and shock crashed into me all at once because the man standing right before me was the last person I would have ever imagined would want to kill me.
