"The dragon you awaken being stronger and more also depends on the tiers," the lady said.
'Tiers?' the people in the hall wondered.
The lady, seeing the confused expressions on their faces, continued:
"Tiers are used to rank the power, rarity, and potential of weapons, skills, abilities, and it can also be used for dragons.
"These are the Tier Levels, lowest to highest:
"Tier F – Trash/basic level. Common, weak, and usually the starting point."
"Tier E – Slightly better, beginner-level. Still common but more usable."
"Tier D – Decent power. Used by low to mid-tier players."
"Tier C – Solid strength. Rare among average players."
"Tier B – Strong. Often used by experienced fighters."
"Tier A – Elite tier. Very rare and highly effective."
"Tier S – Legendary tier. Only the best items or skills reach here."
"Tier SS / SSS – Mythical level. Beyond rare, with near game-breaking power."
"Tier ??? – Unknown or unrankable. Usually locked, unique, or evolving."
She took a breath then continued:
"Ok, lemme give you a quick example. A Tier F sword might chip after one hit, a Tier A sword might cut through steel, while a Tier SSS sword could slice mountains or burn through dimensions."
The hall resounded in echoes of surprise. They were simply fascinated with what they were hearing. From the looks of things, this was the first time they were hearing something like this.
Drahon touched the surface of his dragon egg very delicately. All he wished for was to awaken a higher-ranked dragon and then, perhaps Tier A, something elite and dope. Something that would make his dragon strong.
He didn't want those Demon Dragons though. Some would certainly want it, but he simply didn't, and his reason was simple: he didn't want to be so dark as to become a villain. As the lady had said, anyone that awakened a Demon Dragon was likely to turn villain.
He didn't want to become a villain—he was sure of it. He didn't want to become this dark and brooding figure who would kill for no reason.
Drahon couldn't really decide which to get, but he hoped he got something good.
"When you all enter the game," the lady said, "you'll each be given a system, and that will be one of the main factors of your survival."
Drahon looked around. The hall was very massive, and so were the number of people in the hall. If he tried to count each of them, it would take ages.
But then, these were the people going into the game-like world—the Dragon Game. The world of the Dragon Game was vast and large, and so they would all be teleported to different places, meaning they would be scattered across the game and not kept in one place.
Finally, the beautiful lady who had been talking to them said:
"Be brave and determined. The weak won't last past a day in the game. Spare no monster, kill them all, and use your dragons to their full potential. You will also get to battle rogue Dragons. Kill them too!"
In unison, the crowd nodded in the affirmative.
The lady moved back a bit and said:
"Good. Now close your eyes and place your hands on your dragon eggs."
The crowd, including Drahon, placed their hands on their eggs and closed their eyes.
Drahon didn't know if this was how it might have been for everybody, but the instant he closed his eyes and placed his hands on the egg, he felt a magnetic pull—something magnificent.
Something that made his body vibrate up to his brain, and before he knew what was happening…
…zilch.
---
Brain Freeze!
Drahon found himself facing a world unlike anything he'd ever seen.
Jagged cliffs rose in the distance, tall and towering. He was standing on a parched desert-looking place. He expected to be somewhere more eye-catching, but then that was simply how the game wanted it to be.
Awakening a dragon needed somewhere not filled with things—somewhere you could awaken your dragon with ease—and this was the perfect place.
The wind was warm, and as he squinted his eyes, he could see other players far ahead. He stood on a stone platform, still holding the dragon egg.
The egg had begun to glow softly with a golden light.
Suddenly, a transparent blue screen blinked into existence in front of him:
[Welcome, Player Drahon.]
[You have entered the DRAGON GAME.]
[Awaiting egg hatch… please stand by.]
For a weird reason, his heartbeat raced a bit. He was anxious about what dragon he would awaken.
Drahon laid the dragon egg on the stone platform and waited for it to hatch.
The egg shook a bit and then, it seemed to jump just a little off the ground. And then…
It cracked.
Drahon watched in astonishment. It wasn't that he didn't know what was about to happen, but seeing it happen was just superbly scenic.
The dragon egg kept cracking, and as Drahon watched, he hoped for something really good.
He just couldn't imagine his fate if the egg hatched and it turned out to be a Ploxer or a Bronzer.
If it was to be a Bronzer, he would manage it and train to be really strong—but a Ploxer? He was cooked.
Crack!
The dragon egg cracked open completely.
Drahon moved back a bit, a bit terrified.
And then, a really large dragon flew out of the egg.
Drahon stared in disbelief. How could something like that fit into the egg? It seemed impossible.
The dragon was quite large, with massive wings and eyes that blinked at Drahon. Its scales were red-looking with streaks of gold, shining faintly like metal fresh out of a forge. The surface of its body looked warm, like something that was holding heat inside.
Two black horns curved from its head, sharp and thick— and that made Drahon think they had a resemblance to his.
A row of small spikes ran along its spine, stopping just before its long, heavy-looking tail.
Just then, Drahon saw a message in an almost invisible glass screen in front of him, the words in golden-coloured runes:
[You have just awakened your first dragon: an SSS-Rank Fire Dragon.]
