Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: Smith Turns Against Him, Susanoo!

Puff!

The sound of a spear piercing flesh echoed across the arena.

But Xi Congqing felt no pain.

Because Smith had taken the blow for her.

When no one else could react in time, Smith had used the Flying Thunder God Technique, arriving just in front of Xi Congqing in a flash.

Lin Yun's spear had pierced straight through Smith's chest from behind, nearly striking his heart.

"Sm… Smith?!"

Xi Congqing stood frozen, her eyes wide in shock.

Smith coughed up a mouthful of blood, his face pale. Despite the pain, he forced a weak smile.

"I told you… no matter what, I'd always be the first one by your side."

"You idiot… Why would you do something so reckless?" Xi Congqing's voice trembled as tears streamed down her cheeks.

She reached out to steady him.

Lin Yun, who had just driven his spear through Smith, showed no signs of regret. Instead, he sneered cruelly.

"A hero saving the damsel in distress? Then I'll give you a true test of that heroism."

If he couldn't have her, no one could.

Lin Yun suddenly pushed harder, forcing the spear deeper into Smith's back, the tip inching ever closer to Xi Congqing.

Smith gritted his teeth and, despite the searing pain, reached behind him, snatched the dagger from Xi Congqing's trembling hand, and with one decisive stroke, sliced through the spear shaft, severing the deadly weapon.

Lin Yun stumbled back, shocked by the counter. But then, with madness in his eyes, he charged forward again—this time wielding only the broken end of the weapon.

He had lost all reason.

Seeing the manic glint in Lin Yun's eyes, Smith pulled the broken spearhead from his own body and, with a smooth backhand motion, flung it directly at his attacker.

Whoosh!

The broken spear struck Lin Yun in the gut, the force knocking him to the ground.

Crackle!

Smith's wound was severe, but the Muji Healing Technique began working immediately. Pale light glowed over his chest as the injury slowly closed, layer by layer.

"The competition was supposed to be a friendly exchange," Smith said coldly as he looked down at Lin Yun. "But you... you tried to kill without restraint. That's not just against the rules—it's inhuman."

If he had arrived even a second later, Xi Congqing might have died.

He never expected Lin Yun to be this heartless.

"Haha… cough… so what?" Lin Yun spat blood as he laughed bitterly. "Don't act like you don't know. This whole event is to strengthen ties between the East and South Districts."

"You've violated the agreement between our academies. The alliance hinges on Jinghai College's support!"

His eyes burned with resentment as he added, "How dare you ruin everything for your own school?"

Smith's expression remained unchanged. "That's a matter between colleges. All I know is—right now, you're just a pathetic sore loser."

Smith then turned toward Xi Congqing and extended his hand.

"It's okay now. Get up."

She nodded, wiping her tears, and reached for his hand.

But suddenly, her face changed.

"Smith! Behind you!"

Lin Yun, still drenched in blood and madness, had pulled the broken spear from his own abdomen. With a frenzied scream, he hurled it directly at Smith's back.

"Go to hell!"

His expression was twisted with hatred.

In the stands, Lin Hai, Xi Yan, and several others rose to their feet in panic.

"Yun'er, stop!" Lin Hai roared.

But Lin Yun could no longer hear anyone.

The only thing in his mind was Smith. The only goal—was to kill him.

Smith sighed as he sensed the danger and spun around with practiced calm. With graceful precision, he sidestepped the flying spear and countered with a thrust of the dagger he still held.

"Smith, stop!!" Xi Yan shouted, realizing what was about to happen.

But it was too late.

Before the stunned eyes of the crowd, Smith plunged the dagger into Lin Yun's lower abdomen.

There was no hesitation.

There was no room left for patience. Lin Yun had crossed the line too many times.

"Cough!"

Lin Yun spat out a mouthful of blood.

Every psychic had a spiritual core—a place where their energy was stored.

Once that core was destroyed, they would lose their ability to channel spiritual power forever.

Smith's strike had landed with brutal precision, piercing Lin Yun's core.

His energy dissipated in an instant, and Lin Yun collapsed to the ground, powerless.

"You dare?!"

A furious roar rang out.

Lin Hai, eyes bloodshot, leaped down from the stands and charged at Smith. His figure blurred, and in a flash, he appeared before him.

With a snarl, he punched at Smith's face with explosive force.

Boom!

"So fast!" Smith's eyes widened. He barely had time to react, lifting his arms just in time to block the blow using Sage Mode.

The punch landed like a collapsing mountain. Smith was blasted backward, his arms throbbing with pain as the bones cracked under the impact.

But the Muji Healing Technique activated again, mending his injuries almost immediately.

"Yun'er!"

Lin Hai knelt beside his son, who lay pale and trembling. Rage consumed his expression as he looked up at Smith.

"You're still so young… and yet your heart is this cruel. If left unchecked, what kind of monster will you grow into?!"

"I'll teach you a lesson in place of your elders!"

Lin Hai prepared to strike again.

"Principal Lin, please wait!"

Xi Yan rushed onto the stage, trying to stop him.

"This was a misunderstanding during a match. Let's handle this through proper channels. Don't break the rules."

"Rules?" Lin Hai's voice rose sharply. "Your student interfered in a match without permission and severely injured my son! That's not just a violation—that's a crime!"

"Your Huaihai College must take responsibility for raising such a savage."

Smith, hearing the absurd accusations, couldn't stay silent anymore.

"I admit I broke the rules… but don't pretend you didn't see what Lin Yun did."

"He tried to kill me. More than once."

"I only acted in self-defense. If anything, your son brought this on himself."

Smith's voice grew louder, more furious.

Lin Yun had already attempted to kill him twice, and no one—including Lin Hai—had done anything to stop him.

But now, suddenly, Lin Hai wanted justice?

How convenient.

"You still dare to argue?! Today, I'll teach you a lesson on behalf of your family!"

Lin Hai shouted, his fury boiling over.

In a blink, he appeared in front of Smith once again. This time, he didn't hold back.

Boom!

The punch didn't land.

A wave of fiery red energy exploded around Smith, and a massive armored giant emerged—its body glowing with chakra, wearing ethereal armor, and wielding enormous power.

Mangekyō Sharingan—Susanoo!

Smith's eyes had changed.

His pupils spun with the unmistakable pattern of the Mangekyō Sharingan.

The translucent red giant raised its arm and blocked Lin Hai's punch with ease.

The arena went silent.

"What… is that?!"

"What an unbelievable aura…"

Everyone in the stands stared in awe, stunned by the sudden appearance of the terrifying armored figure.

The chakra construct, towering and majestic, emitted an overwhelming pressure that made even high-level psychics uneasy.

Smith stood at its heart, his eyes calm, sharp, and filled with an unshakable will.
