Bonus Chapter(2/2)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The soft click of the front door signaled the arrival of the photographer.
Aria stood up so quickly from the playmat she nearly tripped over a stuffed elephant. "Leon, he's here! Do we have everything? Outfits? Wipes? Backup outfits? Bottles?"
Leon, already holding Elias and wearing the calm of a man who had signed six contracts this morning before his second cup of coffee, offered a wry smile. "Everything's ready. You checked three times."
"I have three babies to coordinate. That's one check each."
"Then you still have one left over," he teased.
The photographer, a soft-spoken man named Theo, entered with a large bag and kind eyes. "You must be Aria. And this is the famous trio?"
Aria flushed slightly at the attention but smiled. "Yes. This is Elias. That's Amara on the mat. And Lila… well, she's currently trying to eat her headband."
Theo chuckled as he knelt near the babies, letting them get used to his presence. "They're gorgeous. I promise, I'm fast. And I've shot twins before. Never triplets though. First time for everything."
Leon extended a hand. "I appreciate your confidence. But if someone cries, it'll be me."
They'd chosen to do the shoot in the nursery and the living room—both bathed in natural light and full of soft, plush backdrops. Theo moved efficiently, setting up diffusers, adjusting angles. He shot in bursts: close-ups of Elias yawning against Leon's chest, Amara clutching Aria's finger with quiet ferocity, and Lila mid-laugh, feet kicking in her tiny dress.
At one point, Aria sat with all three on the couch while Leon crouched beside them. Theo captured the second Amara leaned into her mother's neck and Lila tried to grab Elias's pacifier. Chaotic, messy, beautiful.
"You two," Theo said gently between clicks, "don't need to pose so much. Just… be in the moment. I'm here to catch the in-betweens."
So Leon pulled Aria close, her head resting on his shoulder. He whispered something that made her laugh through her nose, and Elias blinked up at them with wide, curious eyes.
Click.
Later, they tried one standing pose with Aria holding Lila and Leon balancing Amara and Elias. One baby promptly sneezed. Another tried to suck Leon's collar. Aria started laughing so hard she nearly cried.
Click.
By the end of it, Aria had glitter in her hair (don't ask), and Leon had taken off his button-down entirely after a very suspicious diaper incident.
Theo showed them a few raw previews before leaving, and Aria clutched Leon's arm. "They're… stunning."
"They are," he murmured, voice thick. "You are."
She leaned into him and whispered, "Thank you for today. For… all of this."
"I wouldn't miss it for anything."
As Theo packed up, he paused at the door. "One last thing—I brought something for you two."
He handed over a small envelope. "A little extra, no charge. Just open it after the babies are down."
After a whirlwind of baths, bottles, and lullabies, the apartment finally grew still.
Aria opened the envelope.
Inside were three printed photos.
One of all three babies—eyes wide, caught in the same split-second expression as if they'd coordinated it. It looked like a painting.
The second was of Aria and Leon's hands, interwoven, each cradling a different tiny foot.
And the third…
The third was a candid. Aria, leaning against Leon's shoulder, eyes closed. Leon, resting his cheek against her head. And all three babies snuggled between them, fast asleep. Time, perfectly stilled.
Aria didn't speak for a long moment.
Then quietly: "Let's frame this one."
Leon nodded, throat too tight to answer.
