Chapter 305 - Weakness on Water

High EQ: Not jealous.

Low EQ: Took care of the scoundrel before even having the chance to get jealous.

"There was one time when our academy held a dance party, and everyone could freely choose their dance partners," Rebecca began, her eyes sparkling with the memory.

"I'm quite short, so no one wanted to dance with me. Martin doesn't like socializing either, so he didn't go to dance. The two of us just sat on the side drinking, while also spying on the Captain." She chuckled. "Oh, he wasn't our Captain then, but Leon Cosmodeous's name was already well-known throughout the academy. Many girls invited him to dance at the party, but as expected, he rejected them all."

"But!" Rebecca's voice lifted with excitement. "When that silver-haired older student invited him to dance, he agreed! Even though they only danced one song that night, this incident became the talk of the academy for a while!"

Throughout Rebecca's lively retelling, Rossweise maintained her graceful composure. Had Rebecca been more observant, she might have noticed that Rossweise's tail had subtly lifted off the ground, no longer dragging lazily behind her. Dragons only lift their tails when their emotions fluctuate. Unfortunately, the crazy girl wasn't a dragon scholar and didn't understand dragon body language. She simply wanted to share the Captain's embarrassing youthful memories with her pretty sister-in-law—what was wrong with that?

"And then?" Rossweise asked quietly.

"Then? Well, that silver-haired senior thought she was the chosen one, the only one among many admirers who had broken through Leon Cosmodeous's heart. The fact that the Captain had agreed to dance with her at the party was the best proof." Rebecca had her hands in her pockets as she spoke slowly. "And then she confessed to him; and as expected, she got rejected."

"He danced with her, but then rejected her?" Rossweise inquired.

"Well, Sister-in-law, the reason for the rejection was the dancing itself."

"Oh? What do you mean by that?"

"The Captain told us once when talking about his almost non-existent romantic history. He said that the main reason he rejected the silver-haired senior was her personality. In short, while her appearance matched his taste, her personality didn't match what he expected. During the dance, the Captain could feel that the senior was following his every move and rhythm. Even when he made a mistake, she went along with it. He didn't like that feeling."

Rebecca paused, then smiled helplessly. "He believes that in a normal relationship, both people should be equals. But all the girls, including the senior, treated him like some kind of unreachable 'celebrity,' which made him very uncomfortable. But Sister-in-law, you've lived with him for so long, so you probably understand him too. That guy might act all cool sometimes, but he's excellent in every way, responsible too. So, when pursuing someone like him, how can you not subconsciously lower your status, right?"

"In the end, I think..." Rebecca stretched lazily, deliberately drawing out her words.

Rossweise glanced at her, waiting with interest for her conclusion.

"There's only one woman in the world who can conquer Leon Cosmodeous."

"Who?"

"You." Rebecca squinted and smiled. "Even though I don't know you very well yet, I can faintly sense the strength in your character. In your daily life with the Captain, I bet you don't just let him have his way, do you?"

Rossweise chuckled. "Oh, no. I wouldn't argue with a brat in his twenties—it's too childish."

Is that so, Your Majesty? The various "struggles" between you and your pretend husband could fill an entire notebook.

"But sometimes I do discipline him," Rossweise added.

"Exactly~ The Captain isn't someone who listens to just anyone."

Rossweise smiled faintly and then asked, "Oh, by the way, do you remember what song they danced to at that time?"

"Eh… It was so long ago." Rebecca tried to recall. After a while, she clapped her hands. "I remember! I don't recall the name of the song, but I can hum it for you."

"Alright."

Rebecca hummed a little tune. Rossweise listened carefully. After a short while, she said, "Okay, I know what song it is."

"Hmm? Sister-in-law, you've been with the dragon clan all this time, and you've heard human songs?"

"Yes, recently I've been trying to learn and understand human culture."

That was true. Leon had seen the human books she had collected when he was studying in her library with Little Light.

"Oh, I see."

Rossweise reached out and patted Rebecca's head. "Thank you for telling me all this. Anything else? Like… what he's afraid of, or something he's not good at?"

Rebecca thought for a moment. "Oh, there is! Sister-in-law, did you know he had a nickname in school, 'The Strongest Man on Land'?"

The Queen blinked. "I know he's strong… very strong." She knew that all too well.

"No, no, no, Sister-in-law, the key point isn't 'strong,' but 'on land.'"

Rossweise frowned. "On land? What do you mean?"

"It means—Captain can't swim! He aced all the academy's assessments and tests, but he can't swim!"

"That amazing guy… can't swim?" Rossweise thought for a moment. When their family had gone on vacation to the beach, she hadn't seen Leon swim even once.

"Mm-hmm. That's why everyone called him 'The Strongest on Land.'"

Rossweise nodded thoughtfully, murmuring, "I see..."

Looks like it's time to buy some new swimsuits, my little lion~
