Chapter 252 - Star Flame Dragon King— Star!

Leon squinted slightly and looked at the golden figure in the distance.

"Do you know that guy?"

Rossweise nodded, her expression serious. "He is the Star-Flame Dragon King, Star one of the legendary figures from the last generation of dragons, even older than Constantine."

"Did not expect him to come to challenge us alone," Leon said quietly.

"That is why there is no need to send our people to their deaths," Rossweise said. "In the end, it is always a battle between kings."

Her tone was so heavy and oppressive that Leon glanced at her. "I have never seen you so nervous, Rossweise."

Rossweise paused, then let out a soft laugh.

"Not nervous, more like excited."

"Excited?"

"As a queen who is only reigned for fifty years, to challenge the Star-Flame Dragon King today what an opportunity."

"Opportunity I can not tell if you are being sarcastic or think that."

The Silver Dragons were more peaceful than most other dragons, never actively invading other tribes' territories. But that was merely a result of their environment.

At their core, Silver Dragons were still dragons. Their innate desire for battle and violence could not be concealed.

Just like Rossweise now.

Gone was the gentle mother or the cold queen. The warring instinct in her blood had started to awaken.

Faced with an opponent as formidable as Star, she showed no fear at all in fact, she even admitted to being excited.

Leon suddenly remembered the time shortly after he woke up over a year ago when Rossweise's revenge on him was most frequent.

Every time her torment reached its peak, her emotions would almost spiral out of control.

There were moments when Leon even thought she was so excited that she might kill him

Perhaps that is why her traits gentleness, tsundere, and stubbornness appeared so endearing to her. They were all a result of her contrasts.

This Silver Dragon Queen even had a touch of the "crazy beauty" about her.

Leon raised a hand and knocked on the helmet of his black-and-gold war chariot. Now it has become a silver war chariot. The crisp metallic sound brought him back to reality, clearing away those chaotic thoughts.

He could ponder his wife's hidden traits later. For now, he needed to deal with that golden figure ahead.

Both sides stopped almost simultaneously, about two hundred meters apart, with the boundary of Silver Dragon territory between them.

No rule stated they had to wait for the enemy to cross the line before retaliating. Dragons did not follow such rules.

Though there were no soldiers behind him, Leon could feel the pressure emanating from the Star-Flame Dragon King.

Rossweise was right this guy was indeed stronger than Constantine.

Much stronger.

"How much of your magic has recovered?" Rossweise asked quietly, eyes fixed on the enemy ahead.

It had been almost half a year since Leon defeated Constantine, and his magic had only recovered about halfway.

"Fifty percent," he answered honestly.

"Oh, then it seems our decision to team up was correct."

Leon opened his mouth, tempted to say something like, "Even without you, wife, I could still wipe out the enemy" to boost morale.

But Leon knew Rossweise did not like him playing the hero alone. So, what came out instead was, "I have never fought in sync with a dragon before."

"Do not worry. We have always been very in sync, Leon."

Her words nearly made Leon choke. He coughed twice to cover his embarrassment. "We are in the middle of a war. Be serious."

The queen chuckled softly but said no more.

It seemed she had relaxed. Leon sighed in relief.

Several kilometers away on the command platform, Nacho watched the two sides on the verge of clashing, his mood growing tense.

"Do you think those two are working out a strategy?" Nacho asked.

"Even if they are, we can not hear them," Ravi said plainly.

"But what if they have already come up with a plan against Star? Should not you move closer to support him?"

Ravi ignored his suggestion and simply said, "Just wait quietly. Like you said, I am a hidden trump card. What kind of trump card gets played before the fight even starts?"

Nacho bit his lip nervously, staring at the distant battlefield.

Meanwhile, the Silver Dragon side was also on high alert.

Though they had great faith in their queen and the prince, they still had to prepare for the worst.

After all, war was not child's play, and no one was guaranteed victory.

On the boundary line, Leon clasped his hands together and slowly drew them apart. A long sword began to form in his palms.

The entire blade was enveloped in blue lightning, crackling arcs of electricity dancing along its length.

This was Lightning Sword, a B-class lightning spell.

Leon did not intend to use his killing moves right away.

First, the opponent's strength clearly exceeded Constantine's, with an unknown upper limit. Leon was confident in his abilities, but confidence and arrogance were two different things.

Second, his magic reserves were not as full as they were against Constantine, so he needed to conserve energy for critical moments.

While he was thinking, the Star-Flame Dragon King advanced a little closer.

They were now near enough to hear each other speak.

"Leon Cosmodeous it was you who killed Constantine, was not it?"

A voice came from beneath the golden helmet, old but authoritative.

Most beings would need immense courage just to stand before someone of Star's level, let alone talk to him.

This was known as "Dragon Fear."

But General Leon had never known the meaning of "Dragon Fear." Every time he heard those dragon kings lowering their voices dramatically, he wanted to laugh.

He slung the lightning sword over his shoulder and said boldly, "Yes, it was me. What of it? You want revenge?"

Privately, Leon was not usually this arrogant.

But after years of leading troops, he knew that in battle, one must never lose the psychological edge.

So, there was no need to answer Star's question politely. A bit of swagger was fine.

"Hmph No human has ever dared speak to me like that. You are the first."

Star clearly felt his authority had been challenged. "Do you think that just because you killed Constantine, you are invincible?"

"Invincible? Hardly."

Leon lifted the sword from his shoulder, the blue light cutting a semi-circle through the air before its tip pointed directly at Star. "But taking you down? That will not be a problem."

This time, not only Star but even Rossweise, whose battle instincts had awakened, was a little shocked by her man's audacity.

Leon could ignore the Dragon Fear, but as a fellow dragon king, Rossweise could truly feel its pressure.

To still be able to nonchalantly taunt the enemy under such pressure this queen had to respect him.

Star was growing impatient.

He did not want to waste any more words with this human. The imperial elders had made their instructions clear: They wanted Leon Cosmodeous dead.

With that in mind, things became much simpler.

Star closed his eyes, adjusted his mindset, then slowly opened them again.

Wind and sand swirled across the battlefield as the sun was gradually obscured by a thick layer of clouds. Shadows stretched from Star's direction, slowly covering the ground beneath their feet.

Leon infused more magic into the sword, causing it to surge with power. Electric arcs leaped energetically, refusing to settle.

"You are not going to wait for the opponent to make the first move?"

Despite saying that, Rossweise was already preparing for battle. She flipped her right hand, palm up, and immediately, a dragon flame ignited in her hand.

"I have always preferred to attack first."

Leon took a crouching stance, sword at the ready. "Let us go."

"Alright."

The couple became two streaks of silver, charging simultaneously toward Star.

In the blink of an eye, they flanked Star on both sides.

Leon swung his sword, while the queen unleashed her dragon flame.

The battle between kings had begun.
