Chapter 182 - Family Ties and a Fallen King

After roughly understanding the information each of them held and sharing their thoughts, Leon brought up a crucial matter.

This was something Rossweise had reminded him of before they parted—even though they were now separated, his stubborn and willful wife was still making her presence felt.

"There's one more thing, Master. Do you know about the Crimson Flame Dragon King, Constantine?"

"Constantine? I do. He's a very ancient Dragon King, one who only exists in the cracks of historical records. I never encountered his true form in my youth," Tiger said.

"Rumors say Constantine is an ancient hero of the dragon race, with immeasurable power. The Dragon Slayer Corps of the past few generations have crossed blades with him a few times but always returned empty-handed. He is a truly formidable opponent."

"Wow, is there really such a powerful Dragon King?" Rebecca interjected.

Tiger nodded. "He is revered as a hero of the dragon race because, in the early stages of the war, he seized countless territories from various foreign races for them. It wasn't just humans; he fought other, more mysterious races too. It's a pity I never got the chance to face such a powerful Dragon King. I hope I get the opportunity to spar with him someday."

Leon scratched his forehead and cleared his throat. "Master, you probably won't get that chance."

"Why not?"

"Because I killed him."

Tiger: ??

Rebecca: ??

"Are we talking about the same Constantine?"

Tiger didn't doubt his disciple's words; he just wanted to confirm.

"Um… I think so?"

Leon explained, "He was planning to invade the Silver Dragon Temple a few days ago. Coincidentally, at that time… the situation was special. The Silver Dragon Clan couldn't resist, so I stepped in slightly…"

Smack—

Suddenly, Rebecca's small hand slapped Leon's shoulder, her lolita face filled with seriousness. "Captain, you actually helped the Silver Dragon Clan. You've really betrayed the revolution, haven't you!"

Leon silently covered his face. "It's not like that… I said the situation was special, didn't you hear? Do you think I wanted to?"

"What does 'special situation' mean?" Tiger pressed.

"It's… uh…"

Leon's gaze shifted uncomfortably, and he squirmed in his seat.

Rebecca grew impatient beside him. "Come on, out with it!"

"It's because… uh… at that time, the Silver Dragon Clan's Third Princess was about to be born…"

"She was about to be born, so what? What's that got to do with you, Captain? Why didn't you just take the chance to escape?" Rebecca said.

Tiger narrowed his eyes slightly, as if he had seen through everything. "Rebecca, it's not that your captain didn't want to escape."

"What do you mean?"

"The Silver Dragon's Third Princess… is his third daughter, right, Leon?"

"Daughter?! You had daughters with the Silver Dragon King?! And three of them?!"

Click—

Rebecca instantly pulled a handgun from her waist and pointed it at Leon's temple.

"Dad, step aside. I'm going to clean up this traitor who colluded with the enemy with one shot!"

Tiger remained calm. He knew Rebecca was joking. The gun in her hand wasn't even loaded, and her index finger was nowhere near the trigger.

As crazy as she could be, the girl still had some sense.

"Before we knock him out, maybe we should hear what he has to say first," Tiger said. "When the Silver Dragon Queen found me a year ago, she didn't go into detail about the relationship between you two."

"Master… can we finish talking about Constantine before we talk about me and Rossweise?"

"Constantine's already dead. What's the point in talking about him? Your situation with the Silver Dragon Queen is the fresh topic. Hurry up and spill it—how did you two get together? Who pursued whom?"

When Tiger first met Rossweise, he had restrained his curiosity to maintain his dignity and aura. But now his disciple was back, and they were all family. There was no need for pretense.

It was time for a direct interrogation!

Leon glanced at his master, then at Rebecca, who was putting on a show of wanting to clean house but was clearly eager for the gossip, and sighed inwardly. It seemed that unless he confessed the details of that "regrettable" incident with Rossweise, these two wouldn't let him off the hook.

"It should be… she pursued me first," Leon said.

"Oh? My disciple has that kind of charm? Tell me, how did she pursue you?"

Leon replied straightforwardly, "By imprisoning me."

Rebecca cheered, "How exciting!"

But Master Tiger, being older, naturally didn't understand what "imprisonment" meant in the context of young people's love lives. He figured it must be… quite romantic?

A Dragon King falls in love with a human, afraid of losing him, so she "imprisons" him.

Hmm… that was probably how to understand it, Tiger thought.

"Earlier, when the Silver Dragon Queen met with me, she left behind a photo."

As Tiger spoke, he took a folded photo from his pocket and unfolded it, revealing a family portrait of Leon's family.

Curious, Rebecca leaned in for a closer look. She also wanted to know how beautiful this Dragon Queen must be to make her dense, straight-laced captain fall for her. Peering at the photo, Rebecca praised, "Wow, she's a real beauty."

Leon raised an eyebrow. "She actually gave you the photo?"

"Yeah. At first, I just thought it was a miracle you were still alive, whether you were missing limbs or had suffered some inhuman torture. As long as you were alive, that was what mattered."

Tiger looked at Leon in the photo, then his gaze fell on the two little dragon girls. Soon, a content smile crept onto his lips.

"But I never expected you to be living so well. Not only did you marry the Silver Dragon Queen, but you also had two such adorable daughters."

Pausing for a moment, Master Tiger muttered under his breath, "Looks like there's really no reproductive isolation between humans and dragons…"

"But Captain, this girl without bangs seems to have a bit of a temper," Rebecca said, pointing at Noah in the photo.

"Oh… Noah had a little misunderstanding with me back then, but it was cleared up later. She still likes me."

"Her name is Noah? What about this one?" Tiger had kept this photo for a year but still didn't know the names of his two adorable granddaughters.

"Muen. It means 'moon.'"

"Oh, okay. Good name."

Leon pursed his lips, rubbed his hands together, and asked, "Master, can I see the photo?"

"Sure, here."

Tiger handed over the photo. Leon took it, holding one corner as he lowered his gaze to look at it earnestly.

In the photo, he and Rossweise were forming a heart shape—he used his hands, and she used her tail. To the photographer, it was a romantic gesture, but at the time, they had both felt awkward and embarrassed.

However, looking back now, it did seem… very romantic. The union of human and dragon, expressing love in their own ways to form a heart, was quite touching indeed.

Back then, Rossweise and Leon's relationship wasn't very harmonious. She had been finding all sorts of ways to make him uncomfortable, while Noah also had misunderstandings about him and often gave him the cold shoulder. Only Muen would sweetly follow him around, calling him "Daddy."

Though it had been a year ago, those scenes were still vivid in his memory. This photo marked the beginning of this "false" family, carrying Leon's most precious memories.

Of course, he didn't want those days to remain just memories. If possible, he wanted them to continue. What could be wrong with that?

Leon's fingertips gently brushed over the faces of his two daughters in the photo, then slowly moved to Rossweise's face. With her silver hair and silver eyes, her exquisite beauty made her look like she had stepped out of a painting.

After gazing at her for a while, Leon smiled.

Seeing the captain's strange expression, Rebecca quietly leaned over to Tiger and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong with him?"

"Don't you understand? He's reminiscing," Tiger replied softly.

Master Tiger was indeed experienced and insightful—just as one would expect.
