c61: Discussion! Luya VS Gotenks
Capsule Corporation, West City.
Bulma's celebration banquet was in full swing.
She had spared no expense after Universe 7's victory over Universe 6 in the Tournament of Destroyers. The courtyard was filled with colorful banners, buffets lined with Earth's best cuisines, and Capsule Corp chefs preparing piping-hot food on demand.
Of course, Luya was present too. He sat near one of the long gourmet tables, casually snacking on dumplings and fried takoyaki. He had to admit Earth food lived up to its reputation, and compared to what he'd known from his own world, the flavors here were far more intricate and delicious.
Still, Luya remained low-key. Besides Bulma giving him a brief, welcoming hello, he didn't draw attention. Most of the people here were old friends Krillin, Android 18, Tien, Master Roshi, Piccolo, Gohan, and more. Compared to their camaraderie, Luya's presence was still a bit new.
He glanced around, eyes narrowing slightly.
"Today's the day Beerus tricks Goku with that fake fight against Monaka… heh."
Luya smirked, remembering how much Beerus was sweating to keep the "Monaka is stronger than you" lie intact.
"Still, even though I know the outcome, I'm curious to see how Goku reacts."
But that wasn't his real concern today.
"More importantly…"
Luya's gaze shifted to two young boys darting around the yard, roughhousing between courses.
Trunks and Goten—the perfect duo.
"If I want to reach Super Saiyan God, I need five Saiyan energies aligned in harmony. I already have Vegeta and Goku available… If I can get Goten and Trunks to contribute…"
With purpose in his stride, Luya stood up and began walking toward the boys.

Meanwhile, Goten and Trunks had already noticed him.
"Hey, Goten! Look! That's Luya!" Trunks whispered.
"Whoa, you're right!" Goten said, blinking. "He's the one who beat that assassin Hit, right?"
"Yup! Even Dad and Vegeta had trouble with him," Trunks added, puffing out his chest.
They exchanged glances. A spark of mischief flared between them.
"Hey, do you think we could beat him if we fused into Gotenks?" Trunks grinned.
"Eh? But… isn't that kind of reckless?" Goten looked uneasy. "Mom says we shouldn't fight during parties."
"Come on! We'll just sneak off. And think about it if we beat Luya, Vegeta will be so impressed!" Trunks' eyes glowed with excitement. "I'll even give you one of my new Super Capsule Hero toys if you come!"
Goten hesitated… then his eyes lit up.
"Deal!"
The two grinned and marched over.

"Brother Luya! Hello!" Trunks said cheerfully as the two boys reached him.
Luya smiled back, sensing their ki flare with eagerness. "Hey, what's up? You two need something?"
Trunks nodded enthusiastically. "We saw you during the Universe 6 Tournament! That move you used to counter Hit's Time-Skip was awesome! Right, Goten?"
"Y-Yeah! Super cool!" Goten added, eyes gleaming.
Luya tilted his head. "So you came here to compliment me?"
Trunks shook his head. "Nope! We want to fight you!"
"A fight, huh?" Luya's eyes narrowed for a moment, then his smile widened. "Interesting."
A chance to test Gotenks' power firsthand and maybe spark the Super Saiyan God ritual? Perfect.
"Alright. Let's do it," Luya said, his tone calm but firm.
"YES!" both boys cheered.
"Let's go somewhere secluded," Trunks added, looking around. "Don't want Mom or Dad to yell at us!"
Luya glanced toward Bulma and Vegeta, who were distracted chatting with Whis and Beerus at the buffet.
He nodded. "Lead the way."
And just like that, the three slipped away from the banquet, heading toward the open plains behind Capsule Corp where a clash between prodigies was about to unfold.
Vegeta, who noticed the movement, narrowed his eyes as he watched the three figures quietly slip away from the banquet. He scoffed but made no move to stop them.
"Hmph. Those brats are up to something again. Let them learn the hard way."

Arriving at a small island near the edge of Capsule Corp's private lake, Luya and the two young Saiyans halted.
"This place is perfect!" Trunks said excitedly. "We won't mess up the banquet from here!"
"We're going all out!" he added, turning to Luya with fire in his eyes.
Luya gave a small, confident nod. "Go ahead."
Though still young, the power of these two children post-fusion wasn't a joke, especially if they reached Super Saiyan 3 like in the manga during their fight against Majin Buu.
"Goten!" Trunks called.
"Right!" Goten responded.
The two quickly stood side-by-side, lifted their arms, and began the Fusion Dance, a perfectly synchronized routine learned from Goku himself.
"Fu...sion...HA!!"
Their index fingers touched, and instantly, a blinding flash enveloped them.
Luya narrowed his eyes. He could feel it—a rapid spike in ki. These weren't just two kids anymore.
As the light cleared, standing before him was the fusion warrior: Gotenks.
He wore the iconic black and yellow fusion vest. His hair was upturned in a hybrid of Trunks and Goten's styles, and his aura crackled with untapped potential.
Gotenks, Base Form—Now Present.
"Heh! Surprised?!" Gotenks puffed out his chest. "Betcha didn't know we could do this!"
Luya smiled. "It's a solid fusion."
[Ding! Side Quest Activated! Task: Battle with Gotenks]
The system's voice rang in Luya's head.
He grinned. Perfect.
"Come on, then," Luya invited, slipping into a loose, ready stance.
"You asked for it!" Gotenks said, cracking his neck and dashing forward, leaving a shockwave in his wake.
He threw a punch fast and sharp but Luya caught it with ease.
"Huh?!" Gotenks blinked in disbelief. "You caught it?!"
"Fusion improves power," Luya said calmly, "but I can still read your movements."
"Tch—Then I'll stop holding back!"
Gotenks roared, and in an instant, his hair flashed gold. Super Saiyan Gotenks now stood before Luya, and his aura flared wildly.
> Boom!
The sheer pressure forced Luya to release the punch. Gotenks used the momentum to unleash a rapid flurry of kicks and punches, mimicking the attack pace seen during his fight against Majin Buu.
"Take this! And that! Ultra Rocket Fist Barrage!" Gotenks shouted, adding self-made names mid-fight, just as he always did.
Despite the speed, Luya dodged with precise movements, reading the trajectory of each blow. He knew that while Gotenks had power, he lacked experience—a weakness Luya could exploit.
"Too slow," Luya muttered as he tilted his head to evade a kick, then countered with a light jab to Gotenks' chest.
"Argh!" Gotenks stumbled back.
But the fusion warrior wasn't done yet.
"I'll show you my real strength!" he shouted, his power exploding again as he transitioned into Super Saiyan 3, hair growing down to his waist, aura tearing the sky apart.
Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks an unstable but incredibly powerful form—had entered the battlefield.
"Now this is more like it," Luya muttered, stepping forward.
The air rippled as the two clashed again punches collided, elbows flew, and shockwaves erupted with every blow. Gotenks' speed in SSJ3 was immense, forcing Luya to go on the defensive briefly.
"Got you!" Gotenks yelled, wrapping around Luya with both arms and flipping backward, trying to suplex him.
But Luya vanished—instant step, reappearing behind the boy with a spinning kick.
Gotenks barely blocked, but the force sent him skidding across the lake, water blasting into the sky like missiles.

The battle was heating up.
The water around the island rippled violently from the force of their fight.
And high above them, a certain Saiyan prince was watching from the banquet roof, arms crossed.
"Hmph… That kid might actually push those two to improve," Vegeta muttered. "Let's see how far they all go."
