Hearing Anna's words, Marcus's expression turned serious. "It isn't her fault, Anna."
Anna looked down. "I know. I just wish she'd think a little more before putting herself in danger. It hurts to see her get everyone so worried — especially you."
Marcus's gaze shifted toward the window. His voice lowered. "I don't think she meant for anyone to get hurt. I'd rather not talk about it."
Anna froze. His tone wasn't sharp, but it was distant — it drew a line she wasn't expecting. He wasn't angry, but his calmness made her feel she had said too much.
She tried to recover with a small laugh. "I understand. You should rest more, then. Talking too much will tire you."
Marcus nodded politely. "I'll rest after I eat. Thank you again for bringing this."
