Sous stood in front on stage with her co-workers at an event that was highlighting achievements of the semester at the Faelock University. She stood next to an officer of hers who handed her a plaque.
"We'd like to congratulate Sous on Sous' Bullets, a bullet made for wolves who are under a sheild and transportation spell. Sous!"
Sous stepped forward and took the plaque. There in attendance was Kara as well as her three Alphas, along with press and other individuals from her job and even others entities.
"Sous' Bullets was an invention I had assistance with when I was eleven years old. I was helping out a vampire clan west of Thornside Village. The patriarch of the clan was Clarence," she said. "I was able to sell the bullets as an independent but now, I'm happy to see the product has an official distribution and product manufacturing deal. Alchemy was a subject I was really good at back then and I look forward to creating even more products!"
The crowd erupted into applause as Sous stepped down to have pictures taken with her mate and kids. She shook hands with professors and academics who also focused on alchemy at their place of work.
The five of them sat at a table with Sous drinking warm blood while Kara had white wine, and the children little juices. Sous held Kara's hand in her own and whispered into her ear.
"I'll be heading out to the Valley of Trey to talk with those elves," she said.
Kara looked at her but didn't say anything, opting to just nod her head. The Omega kept her focus on the evening. She thought it was better had she gone along but if Sous wanted to go alone then so be it.
She turned to the Alpha and whispered back in her ear. "You won't be able to defeat Tania," the Omega mate said.
Sous didn't disagree. "Everyone thinks witches are so poweful-" she whispered.
"They are."
Sous shook her head. "Not against humans," Sous quietly argued.
"Humans only burned witches whom they could catch, the young ones, the weak ones, the sick ones," Kara explained. "You never defeated a witch. You defeated demons conjured by a witch but not a witch herself."
"Well," Sous said with a smirk. "I'mma have to change that."
Behind the house there was a shack where the extra fire wood was kept. Kara and Sous had gone out to bring some back to the house to start a fire. They got distracted and began to kiss, and soon Kara was bent over with Sous taking her from behind.
Kara closed her eyes, feeling her whole body move with each thrust Sous gave her. The Alpha had her pants down to her boots and held Kara by the arms.
The Omega bite her lip and kept her moans soft, so that the children wouldn't hear her from the house and investigate.
Sous pulled out with her seed spilling onto the floor while Kara adjusted her clothes. She turned to face Sous and watched the Alpha pull her pants up.
"Fednora is pregnant," Sous said while zipping up her pants.
"I don't recall an invite to a wedding or a mating ritual," Kara said, picking up the wood and handing back to the house.
"They didn't have one," Sous said.
Crunch, crunch, crunch!
Their boots stepping into the snow on their trek back home. "I'd like to taste you tonight," Sous said.
"You like to taste me most nights."
"You like it."
Kara nodded her head with the two of them stepping into the house. The Alphas came running to them and took the wood from their arms, running back to the fire place.
It would soothe Sous to have Kara's scent on her lips while she was in Trey.
"How long do you plan to be gone?"
"I shouldn't be gone for too long. I just plan to inquire about the artifact. If they can tell me where it is so I can keep it hidden, and they can use that it was stolen to potentially stop the conflict."
"I doubt a witch as powerful as Tania will fall for that, Sous," Kara was skeptical from this plan alone. She tapped Sous on the forehead, a light illuminating from her antennas. "If you are in trouble, I shall teleport where you are."
Kara was nice enough to teleport Sous to the council of the elves in the underground city. She walked up the steps to the golden building and was welcomed with open arms. She even saw the elf who came to her office; however, it was another elf who appoarched her. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"Sous, congratulations on your deal for your Sous bullets," he said. "Its all over the news in Nadia."
Sous gave a small smile and nodded her head. The man led her to the council room where she stood before the elves.
"Sous, we were afraid you wouldn't help us due to Tania of Vania being your friend," an elf yelled down from where he sat.
"I have tried contacting her numerous times. I will do what I can but in the meantime, tell me where the artifact is. She's looking for it."
"We know she is," interjected another elf. "The artifact is off the coast of jungle of the southern hemisphere to the east of the Island of Dimona."
"East of the Island of Dimona," Sous whispered. "What does this artifact do?"
"It once belonged to Hacate. It contains her magae. Hacate is said to have live out in the jungles. If it is true she is still alive then...then that would be quite scary."
Sous remembered reading about Hacate when she got suspended. She left off where Hacate became the leader of Apex after killing the Alpha. And that was it.
"Is it on Dimona?"
"No," answered another elf. "A completely different country called Hiro."
"Hi-ro," Sous whispered.
The council chamber's silence pressed against her eardrums like deep ocean pressure. Golden light filtered through crystalline windows, fracturing into geometric patterns across the polished stone floor. Sous traced the nearest beam with her boot, grounding herself. Hiro.
A name she hadn't heard since...well, never. Maps flickered behind her eyes, vast, untamed jungles swallowing coastlines, volcanic peaks shrouded in perpetual mist.
Heat seemed to radiate from the word itself, prickling her skin despite the elves' cool underground city. She tried to think but she didn't recall ever reading or studying this country. She wondered what language they spoke.
A tremor ran through her fingers. This wasn't just hiding an artifact; this was walking into the crucible where gods might have forged nightmares. The council elves watched her, their stillness unnerving, waiting for her reaction to the impossible weight they'd just placed upon her shoulders.
Sous nodded her head. She was ready. She was giving herself two weeks to find this artifact within the jungles of Hiro.
