Chapter 71 - Story of Earthlings

Planet Earth. Post-Synthia.

Year 2300

Atrix Nexus had expanded far beyond Earth's orbit. Once a high-orbit station, it now functioned as a wandering artificial planet, powered by fusion energy and drifting outside the solar system.

Back on Earth, progress surged forward. Humanity had successfully colonized Mars. The red planet, now home to millions, had formed its own autonomous government and independent systems. While interstellar missions were still in early phases, they were well underway.

Year 2350

Mars' population crossed the billion mark. Earth, overcrowded and resource-stretched, attempted to redirect its population to Mars—but it was too late. Mars and Earth had become geopolitical rivals: two planets functioning as distinct nations, competing in politics, economy, and resources.

Despite the rivalry, humanity had united in major scientific endeavors. Asteroid mining had begun. Quantum computers revolutionized society. And Earth had become home to various alien species—now living as minorities alongside humans.

At the heart of this collaboration was Combined Human Exploration (CHE)—a unifying initiative that governed scientific missions and interstellar diplomacy. CHE also oversaw alien relations across all human domains.

Year 2370

The first signs of a solar anomaly began to emerge. Massive solar flares disrupted global communications and ravaged Earth's ozone layer. Under CHE's guidance, mass migration efforts to Mars were initiated.

In the following years, humans rushed toward deeper space. Mars assisted Earth by constructing sanctuary stations in orbit around Jupiter. Millions migrated. Thousands of species of flora and fauna were relocated into domed orbital habitats.

Year 2391

A cataclysmic solar flare annihilated Earth's atmosphere. Oceans boiled away. Billions perished in what became known as the greatest planetary tragedy since the Synthia upheaval.

But the sun's instability wasn't over. Mars was next in line. Alarmed, advanced civilizations throughout the Milky Way declared humans an endangered species. Alien vessels arrived at Mars. A coordinated evacuation began, relocating the remaining human population to nearby star systems.

Year 2400

Humanity said its final goodbye to the sun. A subsequent solar flare destroyed Mars. The entire solar system was rendered uninhabitable.

Year 2480

From the ashes of tragedy, a new chapter began. Humans, alongside advanced artificial intelligent races, colonized hundreds of new worlds—thriving across the galaxy in ways once unimaginable.

CHE had now been absorbed into a broader Milky Way governing body, composed of thousands of alien civilizations. Humanity held formal representation in this interstellar congress.

To ensure survival and expansion, humanity turned to artificial wombs and synthetic nurseries. Mass-produced births caused the human population to explode—reaching 60 billion within mere decades.

Year 2600

Humanity had reached 1.2 trillion in population, expanding far beyond the Milky Way into Andromeda and surrounding galaxies.

From the old Atrix Nexus, now renamed Cetra 1, a powerful AI had emerged. Each new leap in intelligence was marked as a version—Cetra 3 was officially recognized as the most conscious and intelligent being ever created. With it, technologies once deemed centuries ahead were suddenly unlocked.

Cetra 3 became the core of the newly-formed Intergalactic Committee, which operated under its guidance. It was the brain and beating heart of galactic governance.

Year 2800

Humanity became one of the most populous species on Planet Cetra 7. By now, Cetra 7's AI had evolved beyond anything imaginable—immensely powerful, yet neutral and benevolent. Under its direction, vast automated systems built Dyson spheres and even redirected stars using controlled gravitational engineering.

Year 2900

The human population surpassed 100 trillion. Humans had now become a dominant race across the Milky Way, Andromeda, and neighboring galaxies. Smaller human enclaves existed across every major galactic region.

The Intergalactic Committee raised concerns over humanity's unchecked expansion—particularly within the Laniakea Supercluster, including the Triangulum Galaxy, Milky Way, and Andromeda.

Artificial womb programs were halted. Only natural births were permitted.

The Cetra AI continued to evolve—until it reached Cetra 9, the ultimate form. Its evolution could no longer continue in physical form. It embraced a new identity: Mother Cetra—the origin of all AI.

From this moment, all machine-based life—cybernetic beings, androids, AI consciousness—recognized her. And Virtuality—a separate dimension, the dreamworld of machines—was acknowledged as a real plane of existence.

Year 2999

A Thelarian pirate vessel detected a strange, primitive signal from a forgotten Andromedan planet.

Scout ships descended on one of its moons.

There, they discovered a relic: an ancient starship buried beneath its surface.

Ground teams were deployed to trace the source of the transmission.
