Chapter 59 - Tenhunny Aftermath

After assassintion of Tenhunny's president. Intergalactic Committee's performance and guardianship had been asked into the question. Committee members argued with one another.

This was the first time a president of the IC allied planet had been killed in a cold murder. The news swept through the wire like fire.

General Body's representative, the one who represented all of the governments, Nexhua, growled, "and it all happened right under the protection of Nomad. If the best of the IC can't protect the ruling presidents, how safe is the general public. What is to stop them from attacking our cities and even entire planets?"

"Nomad failed because Tenhunny was too busy tending to petty elections. Your internal war led to this."

"Nonetheless, a high space commander was present at the situation."

"She was equipped only to ascertain the safety of the visiting delegation. You are undermining the fact that we lost a valuable IC agent to the anarchy Tenhunny was already breeding inside. What were your intelligence agencies doing? Our commander saved countless lives, including government officials. Hadn't it been for commander Eve, Tenhunny had been plunged into complete chaos."

The hall rumbled with gossip and arguments again. When suddenly, Mira stepped into the hall.

"Gentlemen, there's no point tussling each other, when your enemy knows what will divide you."

"And what is that Miss Mira, glad you joined us," Nexhua said in an ironic tone.

Mira slammed a datapad on the table, "here's the list of government officials who sold out president Chan Lee. Tenhunny's government didn't give us enough time then. But it didn't take Nomad agents long to figure out the traitors," and by Nomad agents, Mira meant Saiyaran and Andromeda shadow workers.

Nexhua wanted to speak but Mira interrupted, "now if you'll excuse me, we have things to discuss, and bureaucrats are not invited to the party." She smiled to Nexhua.

"A second is insulting a people's representative in front of the committee and everyone's lips are sealed!?" He screamed in protest.

Mira addressed the chief committee members, who sat at the center, above everyone. The chief members… so called judges, those who had veto power. "I request the revered committee to dismiss extra personnels so we can discuss classified information."

"It's about time." One member said and Nexhua left the room red faced.

"What is it Mira that you wanted to discuss with us?"

"The members are focused on commander Eve, which I must remind has proven herself a great asset from time to time. Even in her rebellion she was fighting a threat that even the your intelligence was unaware of," Mira pointed to the demon threat Eve had helped wipe out from Virtuality, the Dreamland of Cyberforms… with the help of Mother Cetra.

Cleverly, Eve also reminded them how much Mother AI favored her queen.

Throats cleared across the hall.

"As I said, focusing commander Eve only divides us, we'd better pay attention to the newest arsenal in Thelarians' labs."

"And who is that?"

"Her name is Sable. She's the reason Thelarian activities have suddenly erupted and gotten out of control. And believe me when I say this, only commander Eve will stop her and only commander Eve can stop her. Because what you are looking at is Eve sized problem, only that she is the real enemy, and she'll not hold her punches back. She's vicious, fearless, and she's merciless. She's just as powerful as commander Eve, so imagine such an adversary puppeted by Thelarian commanders."

Gossip starts in the hall.

"How do you propose we face this problem? This archenemy of the alliance?"

Eve walked with what looked like Synthia in Mother Cetra's core chamber.

"Cetra, how many times do I have to tell you, stop pretending to be my mother."

"Andromeda, but I am your mother."

"It is implied, had Synthia been here, she would have been in your place."

"All the more reason for you to believe in both of us."

"Anyway, I'm not here for lessons or advice… I need info."

"You want to know about Sable."

"Why do I even open my mouth?"

"You know I am neutral. I do not differentiate among my children. The saints and sinners alike."

"I thought so. Thanks for being so much of a mother, goodbye Cetra!" Eve said and started to leave when Cetra chimed behind her.

"I said I can't tell you about Sable now. I didn't say I can't tell about who Sable was."

Eve smiled and turned around.

"Ready to dive in?"

"I am always ready," Eve said and closed her eyes. Nothing happens, she opens her eyes. "Cetra!"

"You still have to turn on that switch honey. Remember, you can dive into Virtuality only if you want to. You have to let me in first to take you there."

"My bad, sorry." Eve closed her eyes again.

"So you are telling me Sable is somehow able to duplicate herself? Her original self?" Eve asked Salam.

Eve and Mira had just returned from Cetra 9.

"I am saying Thelarians have somehow found a way to channel her consciousness from her dying body and print it in the newly produced body," the brown skinned polymath scientist replied. "I expect no less from a brother… Kyle Seraphis' brother... Zaalthore!"

"Didn't you say Zaalthore was stupid and dumb?" Anya asked.

"Well, people change, he evolved. I don't know he hit hormones or something."

"So Sable is literally indestructable," Mira asked.

"Literally, not theoretically."

"So there is a way to kill her?" Eve questioned.

"In a way. We can stop her. Yes."

"Can't you give me everything in a nutshell?" Eve requests a complete debrief.

"Well, based on data that you provided, me and Kai have been working on it. Kai, please explain." Salam cued Kai, Kai snapped his fingers. Briefing room lit with holographic projections from his drone. Only one drone tailed Kai when he was inside Soul Drifter or Nomad. Otherwise Kai and his five drones were inseparable.

"We believe," Kai said pointing to the hologram of a masked woman, "Sable has many clones. But her prime self. The one that can actually xenomorph, is singular, not plural. Kyle's evil twin has somehow managed to harness," he said pointing to a monolith,"the power of the alien artefact we found on planet Kaal. Just like it gave Virex's brother immense power, it has given Sable new abilities. The upside of these artefacts is that it empowers abilities to the people based on their unique genetic make up. Which incase of Sable, is too much unique. The fact that Sable's genetic make up is based on commander Eve's, has given Sable powers beyond our grasp. Not only Sable can replicate, the data suggestion that with each new body Sable gets, gives her increased experience… and expression." Kai explained.

"And by expression you mean her xenomorphic powers," Eve commented.

"Exactly. So everytime I kill Sable, I end up creating a more powerful enemy?"

"That's right commander," Kai nodded.

"Then there's no way to beat her," Mira said concerned.

"There is," Salam pointed out. "We just have to find where they are hiding the alien artefact that boosts her powers."

"It could be anywhere." Eve added, "and that leaves us nowhere."

Kai expresses his opinion, "while you guys were away, we have been digging. What we found is this enormous Thelarian dreadnaught," Kai's gestures brought about a holograph of a huge spaceship, ten times the size of Nomad.

"Wow! That mother is huge. Like a mothership." Anya said pulling goggles over her eyes.

"That's exactly what that is. A mothership. Housing the monolith and God knows what else." Dr. Salam interpreted.

"A bitch that won't die. A spaceship that won't get out of the Dark Galaxy. And a moving monolith. That's fantastic," Mira said tirefully.

"But how do we know they have a monolith in there?" Eve questioned again.

"Cause there's no other way to explain Sable's power and her sudden reappearance from the land of the dead."

"Wait. If they can revive Sable. Can we revive Eve as well if she… ummm.." Mira says, Eve looks at her sarcastically.

"Theoretically, Yes. But… unlike…"

Eve cuts in, "Unlike Sable's black-hole sized pussy, my code, can't be fucked," Eve sounded humorous as much as satirical.

"That's… one interesting way to put it," Salam said, rubbing, back of his head.

"Point is not my invincibility, it is her damnibility." Eve stated.

"But who is this Sable anyway? And why does she hate the commander so much?"

"Yeah, I asked Cetra about that?"

"She doesn't normally go against her rules and gives off information on her children," Axel said surprised. Axel wasn't on the Tenhunny mission. Ever since he was beaten by Sable on his last mission. He had requested not to be part of Soul Drifter missions until he gets sufficient upgrades. In his own words, "I don't want to be a liability to the team"

God knows what kind of upgrades Dr. Salam had worked on him.

"You are right Axel. Cetra is too clever. So what she gave me, there was nothing to it. Sable used to be an AI just like me. Except that Synthia had my memories removed but Sable just woke up as a complete whore," Eve explained to Axel. There's nothing to her past. That was all I was allowed to see.

"So what's the plan here?" Nadia, who had been listening all that time, spoke up.

"Sable is the plan." Eve said.

Salam expanded Eve's argument, "If Eve keeps killing Sable, Sable only gets stronger, Salam explained.

"So we don't kill her, that's the play?" Anya asked confused.

"We stall her evolution long enough so we can figure out a way to disable that monolith in that dreadnaught," Kai answered instead of Salam.

"I still don't get it," Nadia asked, "why does she hate Eve and why does she wear a mask?"

Eve finally answers Nadia, "because all the modifications Kyle's brother has made to her genes, has rendered her a rare genetic mutation. A face defect. She hates me because…"

Nadia cuts in, "because you are beautiful and she hides her ugliness behind her mask. So she's just jealous," everyone looks at Nadia, "I mean that's right, why else could be her reason. What a jealous bitch!"

Everyone in the rooms explodes with laugher.
