# CHAPTER 18:- COMMANDER OF GWM
Two tall figures sat at opposite ends of the long sofa, one appearing to be female and the other male. They occupied the far corners, facing the assembled officers — Maxi, Noxiya, Roxford, and Triface — who stood in the center of the room, locked in a tense discussion about the incident involving Kavya.
"How could you be so careless about this?"
The man's voice boomed across the spacious chamber, echoing off the high walls.
"I want results — not excuses."
From the left side, another man rose from a single-person sofa. Without a word, he reached for his black coat and slid it over his shoulders. An unfamiliar symbol on his coat. Three gleaming white stars adorned each of his shoulders, catching the light with every movement.
Meanwhile…
Kavya stood in a white-painted room, the bright ceiling light making the walls seem almost blinding. In front of her stood a tall table, and behind it sat Karma, leaning casually in his chair.
With a simple hand gesture, Karma motioned for her to sit.
There was a small sofa placed just behind her. Feeling a slight wave of nervousness, Kavya turned and lowered herself onto it, her fingers absently brushing over the fabric — testing its softness as if it might distract her from the tension in the air.
Karma wasted no time. His voice cut through the silence like a blade.
"You were saved by Rox's father… Loca, right?"
Kavya nodded casually, as if it wasn't anything extraordinary.
"Yes."
For a moment, Karma just stared. Then he leaned back in his chair, one hand brushing his jaw as a curse slipped out under his breath.
"…Shit."
Karma slowly pushed himself up from the chair, his palms pressing firmly against the armrests as if grounding himself before standing. He walked toward the wall in measured steps, each one echoing faintly in the sterile white room.
Reaching up, he pulled down a retractable display screen from the ceiling. The faint hum of machinery filled the silence as the white sheet unfurled. His fingers slid across its surface, the glow casting sharp angles of light across his face. For a moment, the only sounds were the subtle beeps and swipes as he searched.
Kavya leaned forward on the sofa, her brows knitting as her chest tightened. What was he looking for?
Then—click.
An image expanded across the screen.
Her eyes narrowed instantly, locking onto the figure. A tall man in a stark black coat, its fabric pressed and sharp. On his back, a curved-edged cross, and beneath it bold letters: GOVERNMENT WITH MERCY. Three white stars gleamed on each shoulder. His presence in the photo was commanding, unquestionable.
Kavya's breath caught. No… it can't be.
Her voice barely escaped her lips.
"…Loca?"
Karma turned slightly, his gaze heavy but calm.
"Commander Loca," he said, each word deliberate. "Highest officer of GWM. And the same man who saved your life."
The silence that followed felt suffocating, like the air itself had grown heavier.
Kavya lowered her head, cold sweat trickling down her temple as her wide eyes fixed on the floor. Her hands trembled slightly, betraying the storm inside her.
Karma's voice cut through the silence.
"I don't know if this is some kind of intention… or something else."
With a sharp tap, he closed the display and slid the screen back into the ceiling. Slowly, he walked toward his chair, his tone calm but heavy with caution.
"I'll say this—keep in contact with him. Why? Because it could be beneficial for us. If he truly isn't working against us, then we can gain valuable information about the government. Information we desperately need right now."
Karma sat down again, both hands resting firmly on the chair's armrests. His gaze lingered for a moment before he exhaled deeply.
"But the risk is high… too high."
Kavya's body trembled. Her lips parted, and in a faint, shaky whisper she said,
"So… it means Rox doesn't know either…" She slowly lifted her head, her uncertain eyes locking onto Karma. Karma met her gaze calmly, his expression unreadable.
"Maybe, yes. He doesn't know." His eyes narrowed, his tone dropping heavier.
"Or… maybe he's hiding it from you."
Meanwhile…
In a private room, In the calm blue room, a white bed stood by the wall, a lamp glowing faintly beside it. Loca sat slouched in the massage chair, coffee in hand, lost in thought.
'If Kavya Chandan is with the PEACE organization right now… then Karma has already told her about my position in the government.'
He set the cup down gently on the armrest, his expression hardening.
'Maybe…' he muttered under his breath, 'sorry is the only way.'~
Hexa led Kavya down the quiet corridor until they stopped at a door near the end.
"These are the rooms made for PEACE members," Hexa explained, her voice steady. "Everyone has their own. Some stay here often, some barely at all…"
She slid a key into the lock and turned it. The door clicked open with a soft sound.
"Most of us have other work to handle too," she added as she pushed the door open. "Like me—I make weapons."
Hexa stepped inside first, then gestured for Kavya to follow.
"This will be your room. You can stay here as long as you want."
Kavya smiled warmly and nodded. "Thank you."
Hexa returned the smile, a rare softness crossing her features, before she quietly excused herself and left.
Now alone, Kavya stood in the center of her new room, the silence pressing gently around her.
Kavya let herself fall onto the bed. The words Karma had told her still echoed in her mind, twisting like thorns.
She pressed both hands against her face and groaned in frustration.
"Ahhh… why did I get dragged into the middle of this world's problems? Why did I ever accept this mission in the first place…? I'm seriously dumb."
Her fingers parted slightly, and through the small gap she caught a glimpse of the night sky outside the window. The stars were distant, unreachable—just like the world she once belonged to.
A single tear slipped down her cheek. She bit her lip, her voice breaking as she whispered,
"Agasta… I miss you."
Her quiet sobs filled the room, the sound of a girl who carried the weight of two worlds but only longed for one.
