Chapter 232 - Ninth Life, Mountains Rise

Hearing Eliog's words, Morax showed no reaction. Without a flicker of emotion, he simply raised his spear and charged forward.

"Not even a ripple of emotion? Should I call you remarkably calm… or utterly cold-blooded?"

Eliog met him head-on, his spear clashing with Morax's in a burst of power.

Morax knew that with Brother Elliot watching over everything, there was no need for doubt or fear. He couldn't let Eliog's words shake his mind—his only focus now was defeating the enemy before him.

Eliog's strength was terrifying; if Morax didn't put him down quickly, the consequences would be dire.

...

Meanwhile, far to the north, deep beneath Qingce Village, the Chi had also sensed the signal. The enormous serpent stirred, its colossal body surging as it summoned a century's worth of accumulated power.

With that force, it unleashed the most terrifying flood Teyvat had ever seen.

Its intensity dwarfed the flood that had once struck Liyue—hundreds of times greater, powerful enough to drown half the land itself.

The Chi poured all of its strength into this final assault. As long as it succeeded, Liyue would fall. Once the mighty God of War was brought down, the rest of the gods would be easy prey.

The monstrous deluge roared forward with unstoppable might.

BOOM!!!!!!!!

In an instant, the flood swallowed Reedflower Marsh, tearing through everything in its path as it surged toward Wangshu Inn—and from there, onward to the Guili Plains.

"What… what is that…?"

A farmer working in the Guili Plains froze as his eyes widened at the sight on the horizon.

Others nearby set down their tools and turned to look.

They squinted into the distance, uncertain at first of what they were seeing. But as the wall of water drew closer, their confusion gave way to horror. Soon, every face was pale with terror.

"Flood! A great flood!!!"

"The flood is coming!!!"

The farmers dropped everything and ran, screaming in panic.

Their cries echoed through the village, drawing others outside. At first, people were merely confused—but as they saw the endless wall of blue water surging toward them, terror spread through the crowd like wildfire.

"H-how could this be…?"

Some collapsed where they stood, paralyzed by fear, staring helplessly at the incoming flood.

"Run!!! The flood is coming!!"

"Lady Guizhong! Save us! Save us! The flood is coming!!!"

The villagers either fled in chaos or fell to their knees before Guizhong and Marchosius, begging desperately for salvation.

But even Guizhong felt despair rising in her chest as she looked upon the endless, towering wave.

Morax was still locked in battle with the gods in Liyue, unable to come to their aid—and here, they faced a disaster of unimaginable scale.

No mechanism or construct could stand against a flood like this. Every defense they'd built would be washed away.

...

And then, a figure appeared—standing in the air above the plains, beneath the blazing sun.

He wore a black cloak and an eerie mask, his presence calm yet immeasurably vast.

Looking down at the chaos below—the panicked villagers and the approaching flood—he furrowed his brow slightly.

"At this moment…"

"Let the mountains rise."

He slowly raised his hand.

The ground convulsed violently. The people running below stumbled and fell; even Guizhong and Marchosius lost their footing and tumbled to the ground.

The tremors were so fierce that mirages shimmered before their eyes. Unstable houses began to crumble. Panic rose to new heights as the villagers dropped flat to the ground, clutching the earth as if doing so might spare them.

"What… what is happening!?"

Amid the chaos, massive stones began to push their way up through the earth across the vast plains, each separated by great distances.

As they grew, the stones rose higher and higher—until they became towering pillars that blotted out the sky.

BOOM!!!!!!!!

The deafening roar shook the heavens.

Before everyone's stunned eyes, six colossal mountains—vast enough to reach the clouds—erupted from the ground, standing tall at the northern edge of the Guili Plains.

The terrifying flood slammed into them, but the mountains held firm, their peaks absorbing the full force of the torrent. Only a few waves splashed over their ridges, harmless against their immovable mass.

The flood that should have destroyed the Guili Plains… was completely stopped.

Everyone stared, dumbstruck. Even Guizhong and Marchosius were left speechless.

It was beyond imagination.

Moments ago, they had all been certain of their doom—and now, six mountains had risen from the earth to save them.

"It's the Geo Emperor! The Geo Emperor has saved us!!!"

"I knew it! The Geo Emperor is omnipotent—he protects us all!!!"

"The Geo Emperor is our god! The god of Liyue and the Guili Plains!!!"

"The Geo Emperor has saved us once again! As long as he stands, Liyue will never fall to disaster!"

"In these chaotic times, to follow the Geo Emperor is our greatest blessing!!!"

"How fortunate we were to pledge ourselves to Liyue, to the Geo Emperor! Only now do I understand his true power—to summon six mountains from the earth itself!"

"You don't know the half of it! My grandfather once told me—the Tianheng Mountains in Liyue were born the same way! The Geo Emperor raised them to stop the floods long ago! And since then, Liyue has never suffered from flooding again!"

"Long live the Geo Emperor!!!"

The cries of praise echoed across the plains, rising like a hymn beneath the shadow of the newly born mountains.
