Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Persuasion

The three veteran robbers refused any interviews or assistance, closing the door tightly. This deeply disappointed the many visitors eager for social practice and big news, who could only turn their attention to the other workers, hoping to find some new groundbreaking news.

Bella, on the other hand, knocked on the door with great fanfare.

"I've told you so many times! We don't accept interviews!" A middle-aged woman angrily opened the door and stood inside, her face stern. "

I'm the most beautiful! I'm your friend! Look at my sincere eyes!"

Bella's face was filled with a particularly contagious expression, the outward manifestation of her psychic energy slowly mobilizing.

She frantically hinted to the middle-aged woman and the little girl beside her, who looked no older than ten, "I'm your friend ."

Her guard gradually lowered, distrust turning to confusion, anger turning to guilt. The middle-aged woman suddenly felt a surge of regret. Had she said something a bit too harsh? Seeing such a beautiful girl coming to her house, shouldn't she have let her in for a moment? For a drink of water?

The little girl also thought they looked kind, like friends of justice, and quietly tugged at her mother's sleeve.

"We'd like to learn more about the pension suspension and bank wealth management products."

The same words, spoken by different people, had completely different effects.

The middle-aged woman felt Bella's words resonated deeply with her; they sounded so heartwarming and moving! "

  Come on in!"

The moment they were invited in, Natasha was startled. She'd been here before, and not been treated this way. She eyed Bella suspiciously. Could this person have such a strong appeal to passersby?

Their first target was 82-year-old Joe. In his younger years, he seemed to have been a small-time boss at the factory, with considerable organizational and social skills.

Everyone knew they were the bank robbers, and they knew they were known to everyone. But without proof, everyone pretended not to know, and they, in turn, pretended not to know they were.

Joe was somewhat surprised by their visit. He had already told his daughter that they wouldn't be receiving visitors or answering any questions at this time. Now

that they had the money, they could keep a low profile for a while. Once the news died down, they would have enough to eat and drink. There was no need to do anything extraneous at this moment.

However, since they were guests brought in by his daughter and granddaughter, he still struggled to get up and greeted them politely.

Bella's charm had a much lesser effect on the old man. She was eighty-two years old, and her eyes were blurry. Everyone looked blurry to Joe. Everyone was a moving mosaic. Even if you were as beautiful as a fairy now, it was useless! He couldn't see clearly!

But Natasha was very skilled in conversation. Before the man could start to dismiss them, she steered the conversation back to business.

Bella said pointedly, "The FBI's pursuit can't be ignored. Those guys are all wolves. Once they're targeted, there's no way they can escape."

She wanted to shatter the old man's hopeless hopes, telling him bluntly that the stolen money was stolen after all. "You dream of using it properly?" she asked.

The old man responded nonchalantly: "Maybe they have their own way."

"Method?" Bella chuckled: "It's nothing more than laundering it with the gang. Ordinary students like me know this method, so how could the FBI not know it? Won't they keep an eye on the bosses in the city? Or can the three robbers transport the money to Mexico?"

The old man immediately panicked. If after all the trouble, the money was taken back, wouldn't the three of them have worked in vain? At their age, they worked hard for a month just to rob a bank in two minutes. How easy is it!

Natasha, sensing the old man's panic, asked Bella, like a comedian in a comedic comedy, "It's truly terrifying. If after all this hard work, there's nothing left, it's truly devastating. Do you have any suggestions?"

Bella replied sincerely, "If those three robbers were smart, they should have donated the money, all of it, and then pursue legal action. This time, we're not acting on our own behalf, not just for the three of us, but for everyone, to get justice and compensation for all the veteran workers."

Old Joe thought for a moment, then asked noncommittally, "Why are you two here today?"

Each of them pulled out a small notebook, preparing to take notes like a reporter.

"Mr. Joe, can you explain to us the reasoning behind Wexler Steel's pension freeze?"

This time, they avoided mentioning the bank robbery, focusing solely on the conflicting issues of the pension freeze and the bank's wealth management products. The

old man's attention was captivated, and he naturally wanted to talk to someone. He was afraid he'd die of anger if he didn't share such a grievance.

The old man trembled. "That Stark Industries thing is moving Wexler Steel to Vietnam, claiming labor costs are cheaper there?! Damn capitalists! During the war, we worked tirelessly, day and night, producing steel for the front lines, working without rest or sleep, just so they could build tanks, planes, and artillery! Why didn't they say we were moving to Vietnam?"

His voice was agitated, his lips trembling slightly. "The guys at the factory are devastated. Vietnam? Oh my God! They've never left Arizona in their lives! What awaits them is unemployment, maybe not even severance pay!"

Natasha and Bella reassured him that they could discuss this with the acquirer, and the old man's temper finally calmed down. "They said they want a breakdown of all pension expenses. They really want it?" The old man

pondered for a long time, unable to figure out the word.

Natasha prompted, "Asset restructuring?" "Property liquidation?" He tried to remember

the terms the management had used, but none of them seemed right. The old man shook his head, indicating that he couldn't remember the terms used by management at the time.

Bella was more concerned about the actual amount: "Um, how much is your annual pension?"

The old man remembered the number clearly: "Forty-five thousand dollars."

He pointed to his home and said, "Look at me here. My daughter is divorced. Her husband is a scumbag. She lives alone with the children and me. We have no source of income. My granddaughter is still in school. All the expenses of such a family depend on my pension. Those villains! Those maggots won't let me live, so I will!"

The old man became more and more excited, and was about to reveal the bank robbery. Bella coughed, interrupting his complaints.
