His presence could be felt throughout Elarion, the supercontinent divided into seven nations, two of which were ruled by humans, five of which were ruled by a sole leader. The dragons pursued further, to rid humanity entirely through countless victories and battles, increasing territory piece by piece, dominating every battle with practiced ease. The tides of war would soon change. A warrior born in the Varnhollow nation. A gifted warrior with strength matching the weakest of dragons. From birth, he was trained in the ways of the sword, in strength and agility. His name was Varek, and he began to push the dragons back. Little by little, the dragons were losing battles and forced to retreat. After four years. Humanity was able to recover and reclaim a lost country, holding three nations proudly over the dragons.
Varek continued pursuing war. Tearing through dragon warriors with a palladium greataxe. Staining the fields with a thick coating of blood. The legendary warrior of the humans finally arose! Bards sung in grasslands grazed by the gentle feel of the sun. Poets told stories and passed the legendary tale down through generations. Varek, the Dragonslayer would never be forgotten.
Twenty years of an iron vice grasping tightly to the dragons, hunting them to extinction. Trumpets sang in the air with the faintest drums in the background. Armies rushed and continued their restless charge. Humanity covered 6 nations whilst the dragons barely held on to one. Varek was plagued by old age, no longer in a state to fight and remain victorious, but his sharp mind pursued. After 46 years of strife and war, chaos and lament. The trumpets marked the end of the Dragon Age, and the absolute extinction of dragons. The Dragon King was slain in a spectacular battle where Varek gave his last breath to plunge his greataxe into the dragon's skull, letting out a deafening screech and casting a fireball that scorched the earth, temporarily creating a second Sun in the sky. Many fell that day, many were honoured that day.
