Chapter 98 - Chapter 97 - Negotiations (I)

When Godwyn and Thalia returned to the material world and consequently to the Garden of Eden, both were surprised to see a creation at the drink counter. The reason for their surprise was the angelic wings on the back of the child, who seemed to be no more than five years old.

Godwyn and Thalia looked at each other, seeing the surprise in each other's eyes. Thalia, especially, showed a somber expression with the arrival of the Reincarnation of the Primordial God of Love, Desire, and Eroticism. It was practically impossible to kill Aphrodite with the intervention of the Primordial God.

Even being rebellious by nature, Thalia did not want to create such a powerful enemy because of a jealous and crazy bitch like Aphrodite's.

Yes, the child with angelic wings was none other than Eros, or for the Romans, Cupid.

Chaos was next to his son, but both were silent, with a strange atmosphere hanging around them both. Sally, being Sally, was happily chatting with both primordial gods, which made the situation less awkward.

With the arrival of Godwyn and Thalia, a relieved look appeared in Chaos's eyes. He was truly a terrible father who didn't know how to talk to his children, much less express his feelings. Which wasn't exactly his fault; when you are older than the universe itself, it was extremely difficult to open up to other people, especially the son he had never cared about once in his life.

Godwyn took Sally's place behind the counter and after thanking the woman, he looked at both primordial gods and said with a provocative smile. "What an exciting reunion, father and son finally meet after millions of years."

Eros and Chaos looked at Godwyn with an expressionless face and snorted at the same time.

"I think Lord Godwyn knows the purpose of my visit." Eros did not look at Chaos and spoke in a gentle tone, his inhumanly beautiful and childish face strongly contrasting with his mature expression.

"You don't want your mother's life to end?" Thalia said with her arms crossed under her breasts, she looked at Eros and did not hide her desire to kill Aphrodite.

Eros couldn't help but smile bitterly hearing Thalia's words. His mother was truly a factory for causing trouble; it wasn't once or twice that he cleaned up problems for Aphrodite. And it was really many times; his mother practically slept with anyone who showed interest. He wasn't talking about a dozen, but tens of thousands of men over hundreds of thousands of years.

If it were just mortals, there would be no problem, Eros wouldn't even bother to resolve things, but Aphrodite liked to see gods dueling for her; the goddess manipulated both gods and made them fight to the death. When these gods realized they were being manipulated, the anger naturally fell on Aphrodite.

And when many gods made many complaints in a short time, Zeus had to intervene and send Aphrodite away like a bitch in heat.

Eros naturally intervened when Zeus tried to punish Aphrodite. The Primordial God truly loved his mother. However, this time it was even worse, as his father warned him that Thalia wanted to kill Aphrodite.

This wouldn't be the problem if it weren't for Thalia's boyfriend, who was the Primordial God of Death!!!

Even Eros didn't dare to think about creating such a powerful enemy. Other gods might not know the meaning of a Primordial God of Death existing, but he knew very well. The very concept of death could kill everything and anything, including concepts.

If Godwyn controlled the Divine Position of Death completely, he would be practically invincible because the target would certainly die; this was the horror of a Primordial God. It was a totally different level from other gods, something Eros could understand, after all, he was also a Primordial God.

"I apologize for my mother's action, she is a little childish and too jealous..." Eros looked at Thalia with sincerity and spoke in an apologetic tone. There was no falsehood in his words, he was truly apologizing, which surprised Thalia.

Thalia rolled her eyes hearing that Aphrodite was childish and jealous; this was more than obvious, the goddess was a well of jealousy and envy for any woman she saw who was slightly beautiful.

"What do you offer so that I can spare her life?" Thalia asked with a smile appearing on her lips. Before her was the Primordial God, his secret vault was infinitely more luxurious than Zeus's vaults!

Seeing the girl's greedy appearance, Eros frowned his lips, he really felt that he would lose many things from his vault.

"A third of my treasures." Clenching his teeth, Eros spoke in a pained tone. Just thinking that a third of his wealth disappeared in a few moments made his beautiful expression turn somber. But there was no other escape; it was either pay or accept that Aphrodite would be killed.

Thalia's and Godwyn's eyes lit up hearing the words of the Primordial God of Desire. Both wanted to create a pantheon and needed many things, including treasures to create armor, weapons, and divine objects.

Godwyn would have other gods, and these gods needed divine weapons or they would be at a disadvantage if they were to fight against other gods. Godwyn's spear was a clear example of this. With the spear in hand, Lord Gods or Near-King Gods were not difficult to kill.

"I hope your mother offends me again." Thalia said with a cheerful smile. Becoming a millionaire overnight could work miracles in someone's mind; she was no different.

Eros's inhumanly beautiful face contorted hearing Thalia's words. From his experience, it was quite likely that Aphrodite would offend Thalia again. Thinking about this, Eros's mood became even gloomier.

Eros felt that dark days were coming and his vault, which could make Smaug drool with greed and make the dwarves' treasures seem like small treasure, was in grave danger of existence!

Seeing her smile, Eros wanted to bang his head against the counter, but there was nothing he could do; he truly loved Aphrodite as a mother.

"You and your useless love for that child." Chaos couldn't help but comment with a touch of sarcasm in his voice. He really didn't understand why Eros would give so much importance to a miserable goddess.

Eros's face turned cold at Chaos's words, he looked at his father and spoke in a calm tone. "Unlike you, she loved me, raised me, and I had beautiful moments with her. She is my mother, and you are nothing more than a stranger to me."

Eros's words were precise, quick, and powerful, hitting Chaos like arrows.

Godwyn and Thalia watched the scene unfold with bright eyes. Whether men or women, everyone loved watching family drama; after all, the misfortune of others always gets attention.

"You talk as if you only come to me with requests." Chaos countered Eros's words with the same sarcasm as his son. He could admit that he was a terrible father, but his sons and daughters were not perfect either.

When did any of them go into the void to talk to him? He couldn't leave the void, but his sons and daughters could enter and leave freely. But everyone only sought him out when they had problems. It was like this with Gaia, it was like this with Tartarus, it was like this with Eros. The only son and daughter who never asked him for anything were Nyx and Erebus.

The smile on Eros's face became rigid with his father's words, but he showed no regret. The Void was dangerous, so dangerous that even Primordial Gods dare not step into the place casually. If a Primordial God stepped into the Void, their body would be erased from existence, and they would return to being an incorporeal entity without the chance to possess a physical body again.

What was the point of having all this power and never walking on earth again? What was the difference between that and an emotionless machine?

"We prayed for you to talk to us, but you simply ignored us." Eros spoke, but this time, his tone was softer with a touch of sadness.

"Unlike you, I work every day for trillions of years without rest. My own body is a filter to prevent certain influences from entering the Greek Pantheon. I cannot stop even for a day to rest, or many gods and goddesses would go mad." Chaos spoke in a gentler tone.

If it weren't for Chaos, the number of crazy and insane mortals would increase countless times. Once that happened, the influence of the Outer Gods would only grow unchecked, and in the future, the Greek Pantheon would be full of holes, and a true mortal would happen.

Father and son looked at each other, saw the guilt in each other's eyes, but both were too proud to say they were wrong in their respective mistakes.

Godwyn could see this, but he was not a psychologist and did not want to interfere in other people's families. He learned that in a family fight, you don't give an opinion, as you would only offend one side, leading to even more problems.

Suddenly, all the gods present looked up, their field of vision ignoring the walls and looking directly at the sky.

At that moment, the sky above New York became somber, dark, and volatile. It looked like an apocalyptic scene that probably scared countless mortals.

"It seems he discovered the deaths of Themis and Hermes." Chaos commented with a disinterested look; what did the anger of a spoiled boy matter to him?

Godwyn and Thalia looked at each other and saw the calm and deep look in each other's eyes. Honestly, the blame for the murders was attributed to Loki and the Norse pantheon, as the remnants of divine energy on the battlefield were entirely Norse!

Nota: Note: I am rewriting Son of Zeus. I wasn't liking the protagonist, so I decided to rewrite everything. The protagonist's name has been changed, as well as his age, appearance, and even his powers. He is no longer the son of Zeus or any other god from Percy Jackson.

The timeline has changed, even the universe. Now it's much more down to earth and full of magic, since the protagonist, Cadmus Peverell, has the complete legacy of Harry Potter in an alternate universe where Rhaegar wins the rebellion.

Unlike Son of Zeus, the new Game of Thrones: The Court Magician has a solid and coherent timeline. I will no longer write on impulse, as I did with Son of Zeus.

I already have 20 chapters, and I will release five chapters on Sunday.
