Today, I want to speak to you directly and honestly about this story. First and foremost, having you here is a blessing beyond words. I never imagined that such pure souls would connect with me and my story. My heart swells with pride to have readers like you, and that's why I want to share the journey of this story with you.
The Story's Journey
I started this story in 2007 with the initial title, "The Sacred Lotus Bloomed on the Cursed Branch." Its only purpose was to bring out two characters hidden within me. My life was not easy, especially with two distinct personalities. I knew what I was doing when one would take over, but I couldn't share it with anyone. I came up with a plan: if I could somehow believe that these characters were a part of a story, maybe I could heal. And that's what I did. I started a story, but "The Sacred Lotus Bloomed on the Cursed Branch" soon met with failure and got stuck after just 20 chapters.
But I didn't give up. I wrote it a second time, then a third, a fourth, and I faced failure 17 times. I rewrote this story 17 times, but I had nothing to show for it. Yet, each time I learned something. Every mistake taught me something new. It was during this journey that I wrote this story for the last time on May 27th and published it on Webnovel on June 30th. And what happened after that, you all know, as you are here with me on this journey.
However, something breaks my heart and makes me cry every day. It's the fact that new comparisons about this story are brought up every day, it's constantly linked to other stories, and my own story is overlooked. You can't imagine what I am going through, what I feel. I didn't just work hard on this; it is a part of me, like my own child. Every character is mine, no matter how bad or how good they are....they are a part of me.
