A long time ago, where kingdoms, nations and states where ruled by masculine gender. There lived a kingdom called Celicp. In this kingdom, girls and woman were nothing but filthy and dirty commoners and servants, so as the men put it. No female dared to stand against the man of Celic or else they would be beheaded or thrown into the well to drown. This practice was traced back many centuries ago and it was still been practiced, it was there culture, they only saw woman as a means of children and to satisfy their needs. No one knew why the king of Celic, King Aaron, never liked the feminine gender but he wasn't the first. His father, grandfather and his other ancestors never treated women right. They only haights so sell produces in the market then immediately it was their curfew by seven o'clock, no woman is to be seen outside. The only people that were not treated like this were the king's daughter and the prime ministers daughters.
The women many times tried to run away from Celic but they had never been successful. The birth of a son was always celebrated with a big feast unlike the birth of a daughter. Most of the time it felt like it was a competition among the man, whose wife will give birth to a son.
There was a woman named Beatrice. Her husband, Simon, he was one of the kings guards. Simon married Beatrice in hope for a son but unfortunately for him, Beatrice gave birth to a girl named Elizabeth. Simon was so full with rage that he was going to throw the child in to the bush at night but luckily Beatrice found out. "You will not take my child from me." Said Beatrice. "But she is a girl, our kingdom will look down on our family, I will be embarrassed in front of all the men of Celic." Simon said. "So that is a good excuse to throw your daughter away like she's some garbage?" Said Beatrice with anger and disappointment. "She is no daughter of mine." Said Simon. "You know you are a very heartless and terrible person." Beatrice says in tears. Without thinking twice Simon slaps Beatrice to the ground with the baby in her hand then Beatrice struggles to stand but with anger, Simon tries to push her down back but she is able to kick his leg and run away.
On getting to the bushes, she falls to the ground and the baby begins to cry. "Oh my darling Elizabeth, I promise I won't let harm come upon you, I won't let anything happen to you and you will be safe with me." Beatrice says with tears in her eyes. The she suddenly sees a light in a direction the she runs into the bushes to hide. A female voice from the bushes says "You know you can come out, I am not a bad person, I promise." As Beatrice hears this voice she comes out slowly holding her child and asks in fear "Who are you?" "Oh please don't be scared, my name is Sarah. You look hurt, my cottage is not far from here, you can come with me." Sarah says. "Hm…You don't have to worry about me, I will be fine." Beatrice says. "Quarter of my worries are for you, the remaining is for your child and I can understand what you went through and I am a woman myself." Sarah says moving closer to her. Beatrice says stretching her hand "Fine. I'm Beatrice." She agreed for Sarah to take her to her cottage. They began to walk to the cottage where only Sarah lived after her husband died two months ago in a war. Unknown to Beatrice that Sarah was pregnant as Sarah never mentioned. They got to the cottage and Sarah showed her to a small room. "It's not much but I hope it's something." Sarah said. Beatrice is in tears and asks how she could ever repay her, Sarah says she shouldn't bother with all of that. As Sarah and Beatrice talk, Sarah asks what happened to her the she tells her the full story the Sarah feels sad for her and says with her hand on her stomach "That's the kind of kingdom we are in, you know my husband always wish it was a boy but I always prayed it was a girl." "You are pregnant?" Beatrice asks. "Yes I am, I really hope it's a girl." Sarah answers. "Wow congratulations but where is your husband? Hope he won't mind my daughter and me staying here?" Beatrice asks. Sarah tells her he died in war just two months ago. Beatrice feels sad for her and tries to cheer her up. Few minutes later, Sarah asks Beatrice how old Elizabeth was and she says "she is one but will be two in a month's time." Then Sarah says "I guess Naomi will have a big sister to play with." Both of them smile and then laughed. Sarah couldn't wait to have her child in three months.
Ever since that day, Sarah and Beatrice became best of friends and had each other in their bad times like when Beatrice found out her husband, Simon was married to another woman already and it had only been two months since she left the house, she felt pained and betrayed but Sarah told her he wasn't worth it. They also had each other in their good times like when Sarah gave birth to Naomi. Elizabeth always loved Naomi as her own sister and she always looked up to her. Elizabeth never let anything bad happen to Naomi like when Naomi was six and she went out without telling anyone to get a birthday gift for Elizabeth but on her way back is was been bullied by some girls who were say her mother was a widow and Elizabeth's mother was a run away wife. She tries to defend herself but she is treated like a slave Elizabeth immediately sees her and runs to take her away as she reached there, one of the girls, Rosalind, which was King Aaron's daughter, who was the same age as Naomi, pushes Elizabeth and Naomi into the pond and they begin to laugh, then a boy calls out her name "Rosalind!" He calls from a distance. Immediately she started to cry to make the boy think she was innocent. The boy who called out Rosalind's was Nathaniel, her elder brother, King Aaron's son and he was four years older than her. He already saw how Rosalind and her friends bullied Sarah and Elizabeth and pushed them in the pond. Immediately he got there, Rosalind started to cry the more and said crying harder "Nathaniel, can you believe these girls tried to push me into the, it's because I was strong enough to push them in." "You think I didn't see you, the way you pushed them." Nathaniel says in disappointment "But Nathaniel, they started it." Rosalind says. Nathaniel moves close to Elizabeth and Naomi "I'm so sorry, you know how kids there age act." Nathaniel says to Elizabeth as he stretches his hand to helps them from the pond. "Thanks but we don't need your help." Elizabeth says as tries to stand and help Naomi. He offers again but she refuses to accept his help. She successful gets Naomi to stand up but as she is about the get up from the pond' her dress reaps at the back and Rosalind and her friends start to laugh. Elizabeth took Naomi and started to run back home. As they continue, Nathaniel looks at them with a sad face than turns to Rosalind with a disappointed face. Rosalind sees his face then her laughter begins to fade slowly. Nathaniel walks out as Rosalind runs to catch up. "Why did you do that? It wasn't right?" She tries to defend herself but he shuts her up then enters his room and shuts the door in her face.
