As Leon made his way to the adventurers guild, he remembered the conversation with Rebecca and slowly started to dread the way things might play out. Walking into the guild he found Rebecca, staff in hand, wearing a tight black dress that showed off her curves, and wearing a smile so bright it could drown out the sun.
"Oh, Leon." She said walking over to meet him. "Let me introduce you to my friends and our new party."
Behind her stood three beautiful women.
Carla- A member of the wolf-kin, with purple hair and fur covering her shoulders, wearing light armor with two short swords at her sides.
Efil- A human with blonde hair and green eyes. She dawned a black outfit, a quiver draped over her shoulder and a bow in her hand.
Lynnette- A high elf with silver-platinum hair, blue eyes and wearing a white skirt with a green top. In her hand, she held a small and simple wand.
Brimming with joy, Rebecca introduced them one by one. She then leaned in to whisper to Leon. "Since you said you could hand the defense, i figured i could get you some help on the frontline."
With a tired and exhausted sigh, Leon asked her. "Did you form a harem on purpose or was this completely on accident?"
To his dismay she just smiled and replied. "Don't worry. They are my old friends, once they see your mana they will be addicted just like me. Your welcome."
Holding his head, Leon felt embarrassed. "Please don't call it addicting."
Already regretting his fate, Leon decided to at least let them show what they are capable of, before judging them. After accepting a goblin extermination quest, Leon bowed and apologized to the women.
"Listen, i apologize for being rude. The name is Leon, and I've been through a lot. If Becca deems you trustworthy, then i shall put my trust in you as well." With apologies out of the way, the group made their way to the southern forest outside of town.
As they passed farms and fields, they could see the remnants of previous attacks ranging from broken fences, dead cattle, to even a house being partially destroyed. Upon seeing the party, an older man ran from the destroyed building to speak to the party.
"Are any of you healers?" the man asked, his voice tinged with worry. "As i was fighting some goblins that had been attacking some of my cattle, a few slipped by and attacked my wife. I was able to stop them before anything serious happened, but my wife still got injured."
As Becca healed the wife, the group heard a commotion coming from the forest. Out of the tree line, came thirteen goblins and one goblin elite. Whether it was the livestock, or the wife. It didn't matter what they were after. In the eyes of the party, these goblins had to die, or else they would only reek more havoc. Readying themselves for a fight, they stood their ground as the goblins rushed forward.
As the fight raged on, Leon decided to take the time to assess his new comrades. So after killing his third goblin, he started to evaluate the women.
First was Carla, who was exceptionally skilled with her swords. Utilizing her speed and agility, she dispatched goblins before they could group together. If any managed to get passed her, they were soon taken out by Efil with her bow. While she as incredibly accurate, it seems like she is focusing on accuracy over power. Whether it was by choice or if her bow just wasn't strong enough to kill goblins in one hit, Leon didn't know. Next to her stood Lynnette, wand in hand, commanding both flames and water like a conductor creating a masterpiece.
Seeing him distracted, the elite goblin charged at Leon. Since he was a black overcoat instead of armor and wielding a worn down sword, it had thought of him as the weakest of the group. Honestly, even a human would have thought and done the same thing. However.
"What, How?" Everyone thoght as they stood in shock at the sight before them. Leon stood there casually, the elites blade caught in between his fingers, he then snapped the blade like it was the easiest thing in the world. With a single swing from his worn down sword, Leon proceeded to cut the elite in half. Seeing that he was covered in blood, Leon took off his coat and shirt, then chanted "Cleaning Magic- Simple wash". Soon bubbles started forming on the bloody parts of his clothes.
Now everyone was staring at him in complete awe. Even Becca, who had just finished healing he wife, was staring at him, But her panting showed she was staring for a whole different reason. Finally Lynnette broke the silence as she screamed.
"What was that!?"
Leon, confused and a little caught of guard, asked. "Are you talking about the elite or about my magic?"
"While casually snapping a blade is shocking, i am obviously talking about that magic you just used." She spoke the words that were on everyone's mind. However, as confused as they were, Leon was about to confuse them even more.
"Oh, it was just a spell i created to help me clean things. Since its isn't really a simple spell i have to include an incantation."
Gripping her forehead, Lynnette signed. "Created, huh? you make it sound like your some sort of disciple."
"Of course I'm not a disciple." Leon scoffed. "Though i used to be, I'm not anymore."
In unison they all whispered to themselves. "What the hell? who is this guy?"
The trip back to town was dead silent, even the wind and insects were silent. Leaving the guild after turning in the quest, Leon figured he should tell them about tomorrow. Sadly for Leon though, his plans never go the way he wants them to in this world.
As Leon was asleep in bed, he was awoken by a sudden thud on the floor of his room. Remembering the harassment that Becca had caused, he cast light magic and immediately starting saying. "Becca, we have a party now. So please for the love of..." He was then cut off by the sight in front of him. His other party members, Becca included, were huddled in the middle of the floor arguing amongst themselves.
With a sense of Deja vu, Leon asked. "What the actual hell are you all doing here?"
Through the jumbled ramblings of excuses, he heard the real reason they were there. Becca, with a drunken smile on her face, spoke for the group.
"They wanted to know exactly who you are and what led you to this point."
He walked over to his jacket and pulled out his status plate, unlocked it, and tossed it to Carla. As the girls looked through his level, stats and skills, they began to grow more and more astonished. He told the women that he was promoted from disciple a while ago, though he left out how it happened. At the end of the explanation, Leon noticed that Lynnette was fidgeting quite a bit. With no hesitation, Becca stood up and looked at Leon.
"Alright, now that that's over. Time to whip it out." She said pointing at Leon.
"Im sorry, but, what the hell did you just say?" Leon asked with a serious expression on his face.
"They want to see your mana. So come on, show us already." She replied, looking smug.
Looking around the room, he discovered it wasn't just Lynnette that looked nervous. I seemed that Becca had told them about her "addiction" to his mana, and convinced them this was the best way to go about it. Every time she brought it up, she would just drool like a perv and say "amazing". Which did absolutely nothing to ease their curiosity.
With an exasperated sigh, he finally gave in. "Fine. However, this will be the only time i indulge in these weird little raid sessions."
The ladies all agreed with stiffened posture, and watched as he slowly extended his hand. they stared in amazement as the pitch black ball gained a crimson river, then golden flakes for waves. After a few minutes, he closed his hand and made the mana vanish.
"Alright, ladies. Shows over. I'm going back to sleep." He said as he proceeded to lay back down and try to go back to sleep. Except, there was something not allowing him to fall asleep, to be more precise, there were four somethings. For some reason, the girls were still sitting on the floor moaning and panting in ecstasy.
Leon stared at his hand, questioning if his mana had some sort of aphrodisiac effect. Sitting up, fully prepared to tell them all to leave, he saw their faces and immediately had another thought blow through his mind.
"Oh, hell no! Whatever you four are thinking, you can fucking forget it." He shouted as he grabbed his sword and attempted to flee through the window.
The moment his feet left the ground however, magic chains caught him in midair. As he looked over, he could see Becca slowly making her way to him. She then whispered in his ear.
"You said it yourself, i built you a harem. I also told you this would happen eventually, so time to man up and take some responsibility."
Just like that Leon was drug back into the room and resigned himself to the longest night he had in this world.
A few days after the goblin quest had been turned in, the group gathered in the guild to collect their reward. Stepping in the building, the party was met by a grizzled old man. His name was Tengen, and no matter how hard he tried, Leon could tell he wasn't just an ordinary old man. This man was the guild master of the adventurers guild, and he wanted to apologize for putting the group in unneeded danger.
The elite goblin is usually a C ranked monster, and the group is still technically an E rank party. Tengen offered the party an extra 5 silver and a rank up to D for the troubles that had transpired. Leon refused, telling him to give the extra money to the farmer and his wife.
With the rewards dispersed, the two shook hands and parted ways. Since they were already at the guild, Becca decided they should try out a D rank quest. With no objections, the group waked over to the wall, so they could inspect the current available quests.
Out of the three jobs they could take, there was one that was an absolute no.
"Don't you even think about grabbing that."
"You best put that back right now!"
"Hell no. I'm not fighting slimes!"
"Heh, heh. Look at this one, its an escort quest."
Confused as he was as to why they didn't want to fight slimes, he put the job back on the wall and question himself. "I thought slimes were easy to kill?"
What he failed to realize was that, in this world, slimes might be easy to kill but they weren't mindless blobs. There was a sub-species that only attacked women, and to make matters worse some of them could have special abilities ranging from melting fabric, to having an effect similar to an aphrodisiac. After the ladies explained it to him, he understood why they would be wary of slimes. Since he was a man, he would never have to deal with those issues, but his curiosity was certainly peaked. No matter how much they tried to convince him, but his curiosity would have to wait for another time.
To appease their minds, he agreed to take the escort job. they would be protecting a merchant caravan on its way to the city of Sans. Which just so happened to be one of the larger merchant cities in this world, or so he was told. The caravan would be leaving early in the morning, so that gave them the rest of the day to prepare for the long journey. Thinking of how fast certain rations would go bad, Leon thought back to his time in his old world and his knowledge of anime and light novels. Now that he could create spells, with enough practice, he decided to create a spell that would be extremely useful in this fantasy world.
After six hours of practice, the ladies walked into his room holding all the supplies they could carry. As they entered they could see Leons mana swirling around him, they all stared in confusion but before they could question what he was doing, he muttered a single incantation.
In a calm voice, he muttered. "Dimensional Storage." His mana gathered in front of him and created a mini black hole. Looking up to see the ladies staring in amazement and confusion, he grabbed an apple and placed it into the swirl. With a simple swoosh, the hole closed.
"What was that?" Lynnette asked, more confused than ever. Without answering, Leon just smiled, stuck his hand out and said "Dimensional Storage". With the hole opened again, Leon explained.
"In order to make our supplies last longer, we would have needed something to stop them from going bad. So i made a spell that would top an objects time while its in storage. So, theoretically i can put anything inside this, and it should last forever."
Amazed, she asked her next question. "How do you retrieve the things inside of it?"
Leon chuckled as he told her "that's the easy part, just think about the item you want and it will come out." As he explained, the apple fell back into the palm of his hand. Continuing, he stated.
"Don't worry, i plan on finding a way for all of you to use it as well. For now though, lets just be happy this worked." Hearing that they might also be able to use this spell, they smiled as they started bringing the supplies over to him.
The next morning, they met up with the caravan and met the man in charge. "My name is William Moore. I am the owner of this caravan and i thank you for helping us with the transport of my goods."
After he and Leon shook hands, the journey was underway. During this quest that was supposed to take roughly a week, Leon was trying to remember spells from anime, manga and light novels from his old world. Things that could make his and his parties lives better and easier. One spell kept coming to mind. It was from an anime where a one eyed, one armed, white haired boy could essentially make anything. The basis of the spell crafted, molded and enchanted materials into any shape and with any spell or ability.
The name of the spell was transmute, but to make it he had to experiment a lot to create it. After two days, he had successfully created the spell, but mastering the use of it would be another long and arduous task. After another four days of practicing, he was able to make simple objects like jewelry and some more complicated things like armor, but that was the extent of his practice so far. He was also able to enchant objects with one or two spells, but it takes a ton of concentration to do.
As their journey was coming to an end, the city of Sans in the distance, the party heard a commotion in the distance. When they looked towards the noise, they could see another carriage being attacked by a pack of six legged dogs. Realizing the danger the group raced towards the carriage and started to eliminate the dogs. With each dog taken down, another one soon took its place, they seemed to be endless.
After a few minutes their numbers started dwindling to single digits and the dogs, realizing their dropping numbers, began to flee. Once the area was secured, the owner of the carriage popped out to thank the party. She said she rain an inn and was headed back there after gathering supplies, and once the people guarding her saw the dogs, they took off back to the city.
"As thanks for saving my life, please allow me to give you lodgings while you stay in Sands" She pleaded while bowing. Not sure what to do in this situation, Leon turned back to the girls who all gave him a thumbs up to accept the offer.
Sighing in defeat, Leon agreed and asked the name of the inn she ran.
"The silver fang." She said with a smile as she headed back to the city, while the party returned to William.
"I was about to warn everyone to be on guard in case anything bad happened," William said, chuckling to himself. "But i think it would be a little late for that."
After another hour, the caravan had finally entered the main gates of Sans. Once the receipt from William was received, the group headed towards the local guild to turn in the quest and receive their reward. As they walked past people and buildings, they finally could see the guild and surprisingly, The Silver Fang Inn happened to be right across the street. Running toward the inn, Carla shouted. "We should go say hi, before we get our reward." Everyone but Leon decided to go to the inn, since he just wanted to get the reward and practice some more with his new abilities. The first floor of the inn was mainly a restaurant, with a staircase, right next to the entrance check in, that lead upstairs to the rooms.
Looking around, the ladies spotted the owner, who again thanked them. As the girls were getting everything ready at the inn, Leon was collecting the reward from the quest. When he mentioned the dogs they had slayed, he was asked to show the cores of the dogs that he had collected to prove he had actually killed them. Nodding, he pulled out forty-three cores from his bag. Seeing them, the receptionist put a bag containing roughly eighty-six silver coins on the table.
confused, Leon asked "What is this for exactly?"
The receptionist went on to explain there was a bounty on the digs, each one was worth two silver coins as long as you had the core. Thanking him for the help, Leon took the bag and proceeded to head for the inn. Once he had left the guild however, he had an idea. Taking out six silver coins, Leon headed to the blacksmith they had passed on their way to the guild. Having acquired Steele, he proceeded to the inn to meet up with the ladies.
Inside the inn, he was met with four beautiful women who were smiling bright enough to outshine the sun. To anybody else this would be a dream come true, but Leon knew better.
"I didn't get my own room did I?" Leon asked, already knowing the answer. But before they could answer he handed the bag to Becca, who looked at it curiously.
"That's the reward for killing all of those dogs." He said, as the group started up the stairs. "there should be twenty silver coins for each of you, i already grabbed mine out of it." The women smiled as they followed him up the stairs.
With the group relaxing in their room, Leon asked them all what kind of jewelry they all enjoy.
Like a hive mind, that creeped Leon out, the girls replied in unison.
"Rings."
Sensing where this conversation was headed, he explained that the rings were for their own Dimensional Storage and nothing else.
He had a rough feeling as to how they all felt about him, and honestly he couldn't trust himself to feel the same way about them. Given his previous experiences with love in this world. Who would feel safe, after the one they loved had sold them into slavery and had been forced into wars? He had told Becca about his past so he knew she understood, but he wasn't sure how the others would react. Would the hate him? Fear him? Sympathies? Even to this day he couldn't sleep throughout the night because those memories kept replaying in his head.
After a while, he had finished the rings and proceeded to hand them to the ladies. Who, in turn, started examining them with beaming smiles.
"If you want me to make you anything else, just tell me what you want and bring me the materials to make it." He stated, watching the girls mindlessly stare at the rings. Unsure if they had just heard a single word he said.
Feeling exhausted, Leon decided to try and get some sleep. As he lay on the floor, half asleep, he felt them all start laying on a different part of his body. They all just stared at him with content smiles on their faces.
"What do are you guys doing?" He asked, not even opening his eyes.
Becca, being the ringleader of the gang of women, answered. "What do you mean? You just made us your wives, so why would you sleep on the floor while we get the beds?"
"I already told you, there was no further mean-" As he spoke, Becca cut him off with a quick kiss.
Efil quickly chimed in, telling him "It doesn't matter what you say. We claim to be your wives, so your stuck with us for as long as you live."
Becca, leaning down, whispered in his ear. "I know you cant trust yourself to see us like that, but the day you do we will be there for you."
Looking around, he could tell they all were thinking the exact same thing. Sighing in defeat, Leon told them all one thing.
"I dont consider any of you my property. If you wish to leave one day, you can return the ring and do as you please. The only thing i want in this life is for everyone's happiness."
As he watched the women start giggling and cheering at his agreement, he noticed Becca was suddenly holding a large bottle of wine. Seeing the confusion on his face, she game a simple smile and told him.
"you said if we wanted anything else, we just had to bring you the ingredients and tell you what it is we wanted right? Then how about making us a family?"
Leon was completely astonished. Not only had she asked him that, but it was so brazen that it felt like he just got smacked. It was then he realized, just how deep their love for him actually went. And while they hadn't met that long ago, they were the closest thing to a family he had in a very long time.
