Chapter 73 - [73]. Whis Descends Again

"Just one box?"

"Got a problem with that?"

"One box?"

"Mhm."

Kaso shut the capsule warehouse and looked Philiya dead in the eyes, completely unapologetic.

These instant noodles were precious supplies he'd stockpiled from Earth a year ago — in all flavors except sauerkraut — precisely for emergencies… like another visit from Lord Beerus. Every extra pack meant one more chance to avoid annihilation.

Giving Philiya a whole box was already exceptionally generous.

Clutching the box to her chest, Philiya glared at him like he was some kind of petty tyrant.

Kaso shrugged. "Take it or leave it."

As he reached out mockingly, Philiya flinched and backed away, clutching the noodles tighter.

"You weren't gonna take it, right?"

"…"

She was a princess of the Lolita Clan — admired, doted on, raised with everything she ever wanted.

Until she met this brat.

The stingiest creature in the entire galaxy.

Just then, the other gravity chamber hissed open.

Out walked a sweat-drenched Ausbi'er, wobbling a little but grinning ear to ear.

Her current limit was around 180x gravity, still far below Kaso, but this new chamber had definitely helped. She could already feel a bottleneck in her power starting to loosen.

"Big Brother Kaso!"

Without a second thought, she threw her arms around his neck, grinning happily.

"How's the chamber feel?"

He didn't mind the sweat. He just wiped her brow gently and held her close.

From their wandering days before Planet Vegeta's destruction, to their survival on Mumu Star and learning Instant Transmission on Yardrat…

From the beginning, Kaso and Ausbi'er had always been together.

She wasn't just a companion. She was his only family.

"Super good!" she beamed.

"You two go rest. I'm heading out first."

Philiya spun on her heel, still hugging her instant noodles like a treasure chest.

The image of that brat's warehouse — stacked floor to ceiling with instant noodles — haunted her.

And he'd only given her one box!

She shot into the sky, vanishing in a streak of blue.

Kaso sighed. "No way I'm giving her more. Gotta save them… just in case."

Just as the thought crossed his mind—

A flash of divine brilliance lit the sky.

The ground trembled faintly. Between the two gravity chambers, a pillar of rainbow light descended from the heavens. Sacred energy flowed outward like ripples from a divine bell.

And then—

A tall man with silver-white hair and pale blue skin appeared, clad in divine robes, staff in hand.

"Whis!"

Ausbi'er cheered, waving her little hands.

"Whis?"

Kaso stiffened. His expression tensed slightly.

Whis was no ordinary guest. As attendant and master to the God of Destruction, he rarely left Beerus's side. His appearance usually meant Beerus was nearby too.

Kaso immediately started scanning the skies.

If Beerus had come, they were in danger.

"No need to look."

Whis smiled gently. "Lord Beerus is asleep."

Kaso sighed with visible relief.

The last visit still haunted him. Beerus had nearly destroyed Planet Sadala — and only backed down because of Earth's cuisine.

Whis floated in place as Kaso slowly circled him, still holding Ausbi'er.

"Here for another snack?"

It was a cheeky question — one only possible because Whis was known to be polite, gentle, and… a bit of a foodie.

Two dark crows flapped across the sky.

Whis sweatdropped.

"More or less," he said calmly. "But that's not the only reason…"

"Come with me!"

Kaso interrupted mid-sentence, pulling Whis by the sleeve.

And just like that—

The three of them vanished.

Planet Sadala — Residential Sector

Kaso's home

"So this… is the delicacy you spoke of?"

Whis sat gracefully at the table, staff resting against his shoulder, brow slightly raised.

Before him sat three simple green plastic cups — unassuming, ordinary, and a little cheap-looking.

Kaso had just ripped open the lids, poured boiling water inside, and told him to wait.

It was… a bit underwhelming.

Could this really be the divine food he remembered?

Ausbi'er, meanwhile, was wide-eyed, staring hungrily at her own cup, swallowing hard every few seconds.

She already knew what was coming.

Instant noodles were sacred.

The seconds ticked by.

Then it began.

A savory aroma curled upward from the cups, slithering through the air and into Whis's nostrils.

He froze.

What was that smell?!

Could it be…?

Just water and dried noodles?

His throat bobbed involuntarily.

"I want to try—"

"Not yet."

Kaso held out a hand, stopping Whis mid-reach.

Proper cup noodle preparation was an art — it required the exact water temperature, precise soak time, and a master's patience. Otherwise, you'd never unlock its true potential.

Kaso had memorized Master Jin Chengwu's ramen doctrine.

Time passed.

Whis began to tremble slightly from the wait.

If he had known he'd be forced to watch and smell instead of eat, he would've dragged Lord Beerus out of bed and let him deal with Kaso.

"…It's ready."

As Kaso spoke, a strange shimmer flickered above the noodles.

Ausbi'er moved like lightning, grabbing her cup instantly.

Whis…

Whis moved even faster — a flash of light, a gentle sway of his sleeve.

Kaso only saw a blur.

He blinked.

And both of them were already digging in.

Whis peeled back the lid, inhaled deeply—

"Heavenly…"

Then he scooped a bite, eyes glowing with joy.

Ausbi'er was already lost in her own food trance.

Kaso shook his head.

"Two bottomless pits."

He took a bite himself.

The flavor was nostalgic — just like back on Earth. But thanks to Master Jin's secrets, the broth had reached a new level of depth.

"So, Whis… what did you come for again?"

Kaso asked as he slurped.

He vaguely remembered Whis trying to say something earlier, before they'd started eating.

Whis struggled to pull himself out of the noodle-induced bliss.

"…I'll talk after I finish."

Kaso didn't push. He'd learned his lesson.

Don't ask questions when noodles are on the table.

Time passed.

Eventually, Whis set down his empty container and let out a long, satisfied burp.

A blissful smile crossed his face.

Honestly?

This was better than that entire West City night market.

After a long pause, Whis's expression turned serious.

"I came to bring the girl—"

He paused and looked at Ausbi'er, who was still chewing away.

"…I want her to come to the God of Destruction's world, to train under me."

Kaso froze.

Ausbi'er blinked, noodles still hanging from her mouth.

Whis's eyes sparkled with uncharacteristic focus.

"I believe she has… remarkable potential."
