Chapter 1
"Chloe? Chloe wait please I'm sorry! Let me explain please"
I couldn't believe my eyes, even in my wildest dreams I wouldn't believe that Luke would do this to me. I entered my car and was about to drive off but Luke came and was banging on my car's window, I scrolled down to hear what he had to say. I had to,I needed to know why.
"Luke how could you? What did I do to you?!" I shouted feeling mad,betrayed and stupid, my emotions were all over the place.
"Chlo it's not what you think….Bella and I… it was nothing just a fling its you i love,please I'm sorry it was just a mistake" luke said looking all fidgety and sweaty he looked like a mess.
"Just a fling? and with my cousin? Luke why? Why??" I knew I couldn't cry but I felt I would if I stayed here, so I rolled up the window and drove back to campus. I heard Luke shout my name as I took off, I was so shaken, it didn't feel real. I reached my dorm room and after locking the door I just collapsed on my bed recollecting the events of today.
Earlier…..
I was at the mall trying to get a birthday present for my boyfriend Luke. We've been dating since my second year and it's been really great. He was nice, sweet, attentive and very good looking. Even though I was way richer than him, I never made him feel out of place or inferior. He was a middle class guy who had to work odd jobs and other things to get money, while I was an heiress. My family owned the biggest jewellery company in the country. I always made sure he felt comfortable. I payed for dates, bought him clothes,sent money to his parents, I helped out in any way I could. He always told me he was very happy and grateful to have someone like me, I felt the same way as well and told him all the time. We were inseparable love birds.
I decided on getting him a Rolex watch, new cologne and the newest shoes from LV. I was sure he was gonna love it. I immediately called him
"Hey baby, happy birthday"
"Hey darling! thanks a lot"
"You're welcome. So…what's your plan for today?"
"Nothing much, I think I'll stay home"
"Ohh that's cool. I was even on my way to your house"
"Really? Oh don't come yet dear"
"Why?" I asked
"Cause I'm not at home at the moment" Luke answered
"But you said you'll stay home and You're already out?" I asked as I payed for the items I bought.
"Yeah I'm at my parents place at the moment, after I'm done here I'll come home" Luke said
"Ohh ok then" I said smiling
"You're smiling aren't you" Luke asked me
"No I'm not!" I could feel the smile transform into a blush
"Now you're blushing aren't you?" Luke laughed
"You're enjoying this aren't you?" I asked red as a tomato
"You know I do baby. See you later dear love you"
"Love you too" I cut the call to calm my beating heart. Luke…my heartbeat. I left the mall to proceed to campus and wait for him to call me. Just then, Luke's mum called me.
"Good morning Aunty"
"Good morning darling, how are you doing?"
"I'm fine mam thank you, how are you?" I asked
" I'm fine dear. Sorry I just called to ask if Luke is with you"
Did she just say Luke?
"No he isn't with me, infact I just got off the phone with him and he said he was with you guys"
"Gracious! That boy..he isn't here dear" Mrs peters said
"Where could he have gone? I'll go check his house and see if he is there Aunty" I said
" Ohh thank you dearest, I'll make sure I give him a scolding for this silly stunt he has pulled. Take care"
I chuckled "okay then bye!"
I hung up and rushed to my car to go to Luke's place. I called him again but this time his phone was switched off.
"I hope he's okay" I said to myself feeling very worried
I reached his place at exactly 5 mins. I used the spare key with me to open the front door because it locked.
"Luke?" No answer. Gosh where was he? I climbed upstairs to check his room, the door was slightly opened and I could hear giggling and laughing. A girls voice?! and not just any girl it sounded like my cousin!. My heart skipped with fear, what was Bella doing here? And in Luke's room. Luke..! I immediately opened the door and at that moment I wish I didn't. I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces with what I saw. My cousin was sitting on top of my boyfriend's lap and they were kissing eachother, they only stopped when they saw me. Luke looked like he'd seen a ghost and got up immediately.
"Babe..it's not what you think" He said nervously
"This can't be happening! No no nooo!" I began to scream, my breathing became shaky and I could barely see right.
"Luke why? Whyyy??" I looked at Bella who only smirked at me and I felt very stupid at that moment.
"Chloe I can explain" Luke said as he walked towards me. As he came closer to me I instantly felt disgusted and ran out of there.
Where did I go wrong? And what was Bella's deal?. I felt really weak and didn't want to think about what happened any longer. But matter how hard I tried to forget I just couldn't get the image of them out of my head. I texted my bff's about what happened and threw my phone aside. I really wish I could cry so that I can let all these emotions and feelings out. But I have dry eye syndrome meaning I can't cry. Bummer actually…
I layed down on my bed and tried to push away everything from my memory but it didn't work. It was torture. Like I was living in a nightmare. After some time I fell asleep.
