At this moment, Peter had no idea what Orochimaru was thinking.
If he did, he probably would've given him a thumbs-up.
As expected of the number one scientist in the ninja world—just a few of Peter's casual remarks, and Orochimaru had already figured out the general reason why Peter couldn't leave the store.
Although there were some deviations, it was pretty close.
"Did you go out to capture a Tailed Beast?" Peter asked, frowning slightly.
Everyone shook their heads in unison.
"No, we've been making money honestly during this time. We gave up on hunting Tailed Beasts a long time ago," Biwa Juzo replied.
Peter rested his chin on his palm and sank into thought. "That's strange. If you didn't capture any Tailed Beast, why did the Five Great Ninja Villages unite to attack you?"
"Boss, to be honest, we have no idea why they want to attack us. When we first got the news, we were completely dumbfounded," said Sasori of the Red Sand.
"They must've taken the wrong medicine or something. We didn't even do anything that bad! But now they're coming at us with everything they've got. It's outrageous!" Biwa Juzo growled through gritted teeth.
Everyone nodded in agreement, clearly frustrated.
They recalled what they had done in the past few months—accepting bounty missions at the Gold Exchange, occasionally completing Black Zetsu's assignments, and running a door-to-door debt collection business.
Sure, they had offended a few high-ranking officials from the five major nations, but that didn't seem like enough to warrant a full-scale alliance against them...
Peter couldn't figure it out either. In the end, he simply chalked it up to the butterfly effect caused by his time-travel.
"If the Five Great Ninja Villages really want to fight, then let's make sure they never return," Peter said calmly. "Wait a minute—I'll get the nuclear bomb for you."
Of course, there was no nuclear bomb in the store. Peter opened up the system's mall and began searching.
"Nuclear bomb... nuclear bomb... ah, found it!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a bright white light flashed on the floor—and a football appeared.
"...Is this the legendary nuclear weapon?" Nagato murmured.
"I didn't expect something so small to carry such terrifying power. It's unbelievable," Konan added in awe.
"Haha, I really want to study it," Orochimaru said excitedly, his eyes gleaming.
Peter chuckled. "Yeah, this is a nuclear weapon—even though it looks like a football—"
His words suddenly caught in his throat.
"Wait... why is it a football?!"
Peter looked like he'd just seen a ghost.
Wasn't this supposed to be an atomic bomb? Why the hell does it look like a football?!
"Boss, is there something wrong with this nuclear weapon?" Nagato asked, confused.
"Something wrong?" Peter muttered under his breath. "This is more than just a little problem..."
Peter immediately questioned the system in his mind. "System, what the hell is going on? Isn't this supposed to be an atomic bomb?"
Ding!
The host is not mistaken—this is indeed an atomic bomb.
To avoid any misunderstanding, the system continued, "Activating the Eye of Insight for you now."
The moment the system finished speaking, Peter felt a bright flash before his eyes. He reflexively shut them.
When he opened them again, his vision had changed completely. Now, everything in his sight came with detailed descriptions.
For example, a line of text hovered above Nagato's head:
> Uzumaki Nagato. Holder of the Rinnegan. Founder of Akatsuki. Advocate for peace.
Rinnegan transplanted by Uchiha Madara during childhood. After the death of his parents and best friend Yahiko, he was manipulated by Uchiha Obito and pursued peace through pain.
During the destruction of Konoha, he was persuaded by Uzumaki Naruto and used Rinne Rebirth to resurrect those who died. Entrusted his ideals to Naruto and passed away.
Later resurrected via Impure World Reincarnation during the Fourth Ninja War. Fought alongside Uchiha Itachi before being sealed by Itachi, Naruto, and Killer Bee.
Peter blinked in shock.
This ability was awesome!
He quickly shifted his gaze to the so-called football on the floor.
> Though it appears to be a football, it is actually a genuine atomic bomb. Upon detonation, all life within a 100-mile radius will be annihilated.
Peter's expression turned stiff.
"...f**k. This football is really a nuclear bomb?"
He picked it up ever so carefully, like he was handling the most delicate glass in the world, afraid that even a slight jolt would trigger it.
"The weapon is good—no issues at all," Peter explained to Nagato while inspecting the object. "But... let's just be careful. One bump and we're all toast."
Then, he handed the "football" over to Nagato.
Nagato accepted it with trembling hands, his eyes shining with awe and anticipation.
He could feel it—this tiny object in his hands could completely reshape the ninja world. With it, his long-standing dream of achieving peace through overwhelming power might finally be realized.
"So... this is the weapon that can change the landscape of the entire ninja world..." Nagato whispered, breathing heavily.
However, just as he became lost in the fantasy, disaster struck.
Out of sheer excitement, Nagato lost grip of the "football." It slipped through his hands and fell to the ground with a dull thud.
Nagato's face turned as pale as a sheet.
Peter: "…"
Nagato: "…"
Everyone else: "…"
Peter didn't even speak. He just dived to the ground instantly.
"GET DOWN!" he screamed.
Everyone else hit the floor like dominos.
Shit! It's over! It's really over!
Is this thing going to explode?! Even with Peter's invincibility inside the store, he wasn't sure if he could survive a nuclear blast…
But luckily, the anticipated explosion never came.
Peter exhaled in relief and slowly got to his feet. He turned to glare at Nagato. "F**k, can't you be a little more careful?!"
The others looked at Nagato with the same combination of fear and frustration.
"Hehe... sorry, I got a little too excited," Nagato chuckled awkwardly, scratching his head.
Konan stepped forward, carefully storing the football inside a scroll. "Let me keep this. Just to be safe."
"Boss, here's the 10 billion," Nagato said, handing over dozens of scrolls packed with funds.
Peter nodded and stored them in the system space without checking. He trusted them.
He looked at Nagato seriously. "Are you really planning to use the nuclear bomb on the Ninja Alliance?"
Truthfully, Peter wasn't in favor of it. The weapon was far too dangerous, far too destructive.
Nagato paused, then said, "Don't worry, boss. I won't use it unless it's absolutely necessary."
Peter nodded slowly. "That's good to hear."
"Boss, we'll take our leave now," Nagato said with a bow. Then he and his group exited the store, heading out to prepare for tomorrow's war.
Watching their backs fade into the distance, Peter sighed.
"I just hope the Ninja Alliance doesn't push them too far..."
Because if that nuclear bomb did go off—no matter how many forces the Five Great Nations had—they'd be completely annihilated.
