Chapter 57 - Chapter 31: Split Personalities and Midnight Madness

Shi Mo thought she had experienced all kinds of madness since arriving at Yingnan High.

Possessed lockers. Whispering ghosts. Hauntings disguised as love letters.

But nothing prepared her for what happened at exactly 2:03 a.m. on a rainy Wednesday.

Fu Yunshen… changed.

It began with soft humming.

Shi Mo, half-asleep, blinked in confusion. Her bed was near the window, and the sound floated in from the corner where Fu Yunshen's desk sat.

She sat up slowly.

He was standing—barefoot—wearing one of Zhou Zhi's pink strawberry-print aprons over his sleep shirt, twirling in slow circles.

"Huh?"

Shi Mo rubbed her eyes.

Was she dreaming?

Then Fu Yunshen turned to her with the biggest, most dazzling smile she had ever seen on his face.

"Good morning, sleepyhead!"

Shi Mo choked. "W-What?"

Fu Yunshen—or whoever was currently piloting his body—skipped over to her bed and perched on the edge delicately.

"I made you tea!" he announced brightly.

Zhou Zhi, from the top bunk, groaned in his sleep. "If this is a dream, I want out."

Shi Mo slowly reached for her phone.

This isn't normal.

The Gu worm inside her was unusually quiet, as if equally confused.

"Fu Yunshen?" she asked cautiously.

He giggled.

GIGGLED.

"That's not my name tonight! I'm Yun Yun!" he declared, placing a hand dramatically on his chest. "The spirit of sweetness and sparkle!"

Shi Mo stared at him, stunned.

Yun Yun winked. "Fu Yunshen's heart was a little too gloomy, so I'm helping him unwind. Think of me as his… emotional detox."

Shi Mo wanted to scream.

Instead, she whispered, "You're possessed."

"Nope!" Yun Yun chirped. "He unlocked me. I'm the part of him he keeps buried beneath all that brooding. Like a glitter bomb of repressed emotions!"

Zhou Zhi finally sat up. His face was pale.

He pointed. "Dude… why are you wearing my apron?"

Yun Yun twirled. "It suits my vibe, doesn't it?"

Zhou Zhi fainted.

For the next half hour, Shi Mo had to endure:

Yun Yun attempting to reorganize the dorm "for balance and inner harmony."

Yun Yun braiding Shi Mo's hair—while humming.

Yun Yun writing a diary entry titled "My Favorite Roommates and Why Shi Mo is Definitely Hiding Something."

That last one almost triggered a full spiritual flare-up from Shi Mo's Gu worm.

Eventually, Shi Mo cornered him.

She pressed a cold talisman to Fu Yunshen's forehead.

It fizzled.

And then—

He blinked.

The glimmer faded.

His posture straightened.

The apron slipped off.

"…Why am I wearing strawberries?" he asked groggily.

Shi Mo stared.

"You don't remember?"

Fu Yunshen blinked again. "Remember what?"

Zhou Zhi, from the bed, whispered, "He braided my socks."

Later that morning, Shi Mo sat alone on the rooftop, trying to make sense of everything.

The system pinged softly in her ear:

[Hidden Trait Unlocked: Suppressed Split Persona – "Yun Yun"][Note: Activated under emotional duress or exposure to excess spiritual energy.][Brotherhood Value +60 (Revealed Hidden Vulnerability)][Current Total: 960 / 1,000,000]

Shi Mo let out a long sigh.

So.

Her emotionally guarded target now had a split personality that baked imaginary cupcakes and called her "sparkle queen."

Yup.

Totally normal.

Absolutely manageable.

Completely not making her feelings even more complicated.
