"Hey, wait Up," Mei ran after Rain who had stepped out of the sect's gate.
"Do you know how much it costs to buy a horse?" She yelled, running after Rain.
"It's over a hundred gold coins for just a horse, are you sure you can afford it?"
"Let's go and when we get there, you'll know if I'm able to afford it or not," Rain answered, without turning around to look at Mei.
"Are you some sort of a rich Young Master?" She yelled once again, not giving up.
Though Rain's answer was cold and stiff, she was never going to stop talking.
After all, in the entire sect, Rain was the only one who talked to her apart from the elders and the sect master.
This was due to a special condition of hers. She had a special body constitution which if one was to cultivate with her, their energy would be drained beyond saving.
Though this might look like a blessing, but there was no man who would be willing to have all of his strength sucked out of him with just a session without gaining anything.
Though it was a secret at first, the news of her body constitution spread like wildfire with no one knowing who spread the rumor, as a result, everyone avoided her like a plague, no one wanted to die.
But then Rain didn't seem to avoid her and even agreed to go on a mission with her. Normally, a female cultivator would accompany her Dao partner to go on a mission together. Otherwise, it would all be either a group of males or females equal.
This was why the elder was a bit shocked seeing Mei's Cultivation was higher than that of Rain's. But it was none of his business, so he really didn't interfere. Besides, he knew who Mei was.
Though she had guessed it was because he didn't recognize her. But then that was rare. But even if Rain had recognized her, he wouldn't really care about it.
"Wait up for me. I know a good spot where good horses are sold," Mei yelled, running after Rain as it seemed she was not able to catch up to him.
"Seems like the Young Master has finally made some breakthrough and a friend," Chen who was watching the entire scene from a distance breathed in relief.
He had changed his technique since it felt it was no longer safe if even Rain could tell where he was.
But after seeing Rain didn't notice him, he breathed in a sigh of relief. Seemed like he was right to change it.
Who knew what Chen would have done if he realized that Rain had just ignored him so as not to flatten his ego?
"I need to write to the master. The young master has broken through to the early Foundation Establishment Realm in just a week," Chen muttered again, a wide smile on his face.
There was a lot of good news coming in lately. Finally, he was growing stronger.
Rain on the other hand couldn't care less about all of this. As for his Cultivation level, there was no way he would reveal it all.
Even in the past, no one could tell what exactly his strength was.
Now that he was weaker, he knew he couldn't conceal that from truly powerful experts like Old Chen and the elders of the sect.
So he chose to fool them instead. Using a technique, they would only be able to see what level of strength he was at as long as it was not more than Three major realms of his real strength or three minor realms of his real strength.
He would have preferred to keep what they would see at the late stage of the Qi gathering realm, but he needed to go for a mission, so he just kept it at the early stage Foundation Realm.
"Come on, let's get going, we don't have any time to waste," Rain glanced at Mei who was still staring at the horse he bought for her.
If it were not because his strength wouldn't keep up and the fact that he was not strong enough to Cultivate any of the movement techniques he knew, there was no need to waste his time buying a horse.
Getting on the horse, the two rode out the city heading towards Bo Village.
Also, Chen followed quietly from a distance ready to deal with anything that looked like it could pose a threat to Rain.
Though he didn't know where Rain was going, he was never going to question the Young Master's movement.
In no time, Rain and Mei arrived at the entrance of what looked like a desolate village.
The lamps in the village were lit and smoke could be seen rising from all the houses in the village.
"Welcome," An old voice came as a figure with a walking stick approached the two.
"You must be the two sent from the Glory Dome Sect," The old figure continued, scrutinizing Rain and Mei.
"Yes," Mei nodded quickly,
"Follow me," The old man turned around and walked into the village.
Rain on the other hand frowned slightly and spread out his spiritual perception.
Though it was only able to cover a few meters, it was still powerful.
He might have lost his Cultivation, but the strength of his spiritual perception was still there.
Walking into the Village, the old figure led them towards an old hut house.
"Please stay here for the night, we'll tell you all about the beasts attacking the village tomorrow," The old man said then turned around to leave.
Staring around, Rain noticed all the houses in the village had been shut. There was not a single soul outside. He could even hear the light snore of some of the villagers.
Well, they were all mortals and from the looks of it seemed like they were also farmers.
So they sure need to replenish their strength, or else they won't be able to do anything. But wasn't it too early for them to be asleep?
