Chapter 150 - My Foolish Little Brother

To obtain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, one must transplant the eyes of one's brother?

But what if you don't have a brother?

Would you have to clone your own eyes and fuse them?

Uchiha Obito implanted Hashirama's cells, and was then able to use the Mangekyō's power without restraint.

Was Senju Hashirama's body really that miraculous?

No—it was the power of Yang Release chakra.

The growth of the Sharingan depends on ocular power, the essence of which is highly concentrated Yin Release chakra. The Senju clan represents Yang Release, and Hashirama's Wood Release is the manifestation of extremely pure Yang chakra. His Water and Earth affinities were merely sufficient but not necessary conditions.

There are not many ninja in the world with both Water and Earth natures, but still quite a few exist. Yet aside from Hashirama, none of them awakened Wood Release. Yamato's Wood Release was only possible because of Hashirama's cells. Compared to the overwhelming Yang chakra of Hashirama, Yamato's Yang aspect was too weak, so his Wood Release was vastly inferior.

As the saying goes: "Yin alone does not give birth, Yang alone does not grow."

In the end, the world of Naruto also revolves around Yin–Yang theory.

It was precisely because of this that, after obtaining just a small piece of Hashirama's flesh, Uchiha Madara was able to, over decades, cultivate the Rinnegan.

What he relied on was the Yang chakra contained within that fragment of flesh.

But of course, a mere scrap of flesh held very little Yang chakra, which is why it took Madara decades. If he had had Hashirama constantly pouring high-purity Yang chakra into him, his eyes would have evolved much faster.

Therefore, in theory, aside from absorbing ocular power from another Mangekyō of equal level, having a sufficient supply of pure Yang chakra could not only solve the problem of deteriorating eyesight, but also push the eyes to evolve.

The correct path should be: after obtaining the Mangekyō Sharingan, acquire a massive amount of high-purity Yang chakra. Let Yin and Yang chakra circulate together, and through that, evolve into the Eternal Mangekyō and eventually the Rinnegan.

Madara's claim that one must transplant a brother's eyes in order to evolve into the Eternal Mangekyō was not entirely wrong—but what he truly did was forcibly combine high-purity Yin (ocular power) with high-purity Yin (more ocular power).

Essentially, Madara's method of evolution was a deviation—a twisted path.

Now, the Yang chakra contained in Naruto's body is in no way inferior to Hashirama's.

Theoretically, his power could also help Sasuke's eyes evolve. The best proof is that when Naruto shared his chakra with Sasuke, Sasuke could use his Mangekyō without suffering the same constant bleeding tears as Itachi. Instead, he was more like Obito, able to wield it with little consequence.

"Too bad. You don't need this power." Naruto shook the bottle containing Itachi's eyes. "And I don't need it either."

'If you two don't want it, then give it to me!' More than a few people present stared hungrily at Itachi's eyes, their own reddening with envy, screaming silently in their hearts.

And at the same time, they cursed Sasuke as an idiot.

Those were Mangekyō eyes—the power of the Eternal Mangekyō! To obtain it was akin to ascending to godhood in a single step.

After all, Hashirama bore the title "God of Shinobi." Could his rival, Uchiha Madara, be any lesser?

If you, Uchiha Sasuke, don't want them, plenty of others will.

But Naruto wasn't about to hand them over.

"Give me the eyes of that sinner," came a voice.

From among the Root operatives, one person stepped forward.

Uchiha Izumi.

Slowly, she removed the mask from her face, revealing beautiful features—marred only by the eyepatch covering one eye.

It was the eye she had sacrificed when she used Izanagi.

Izumi took the bottle from Naruto's hand, staring deeply at Itachi's eyes inside, lost in thought.

"Izumi-nee?"

Sasuke stared blankly at her. Though years had passed and she had matured, he recognized her instantly.

"Sasuke… you've suffered so much all these years."

And then, Uchiha Fugaku also removed his Root mask. "As expected of my son."

"F-Father?" Sasuke was utterly stunned.

'Clan Head Fugaku?!'

If Izumi's face had only shaken a few people, then Fugaku's appearance sent shockwaves through the gathered clans.

And then, one after another, the Root operatives removed their masks.

"You… you all…???"

For a moment Sasuke thought he had fallen into an illusion again—believing he was still trapped inside one of Itachi's genjutsu, and everything before him was fake.

"Sharingan!" Sasuke activated his Mangekyō once more, staring at each of them one by one. But no matter how hard he looked, he saw no sign of illusion.

'They're real?'

These Root operatives… were all Uchiha?

All the clans present—except for the Hyūga—were utterly shocked.

Hadn't they all been wiped out?

Hadn't the Uchiha been annihilated years ago?

'I saw hundreds of Uchiha buried with my own eyes.'

"The Uchiha did indeed suffer a massacre," Fugaku explained, speaking both to Sasuke and to the other clans. "Most of our people truly did die that night. But a small number survived."

"I see… the missing hundred or so," Nara Shikaku murmured.

Out of more than a thousand Uchiha, nine hundred were confirmed dead, but the bodies of a hundred or more were never found. Because Root's traces were discovered nearby, suspicion fell on Danzō. Though he denied everything, the missing were officially declared dead rather than missing.

Most people had no idea, but Shikaku had known fragments of the truth.

"That's right," Fugaku said with an apologetic look at Sasuke. "I'm sorry, Sasuke."

Sasuke whipped his head toward Naruto, silently asking why even he had kept this from him.

"Not my fault—it was your dad and the others who wouldn't let me tell you," Naruto shrugged. "They wanted you to grow strong quickly."

"And the results prove they were right. Your strength has soared—you've even awakened the Mangekyō."

Sasuke's eyes brimmed with red—not the Sharingan this time, but tears.

'Why didn't any of you tell me?!' At that moment, Sasuke felt unbearably wronged. He had believed he had lost everything—yet now, what he had treasured most had returned to him.

Overcome, Sasuke had no words to describe the storm of emotions in his heart. He could only think—

'Happiness came too suddenly.'

"We were going to tell you earlier," Fugaku continued, scratching his cheek. For the first time, his usually icy expression carried a trace of awkwardness. "But… some things came up, and I was tied down."

He certainly wasn't about to admit to Sasuke that he and Mikoto had been so preoccupied they had nearly forgotten about him altogether.

'What could possibly be more important than me?' Sasuke thought, pouting unconsciously.

"Sasuke, this is wonderful news," Naruto said, patting him on the shoulder. "Congratulations."

Sasuke: "???"

But then Fugaku's next words captured his full attention, sweeping away his grievance.

"Mikoto… she's had another child."

"She gave birth just a few months ago."

Sasuke's eyes widened in shock.

His mother… had had another baby? That meant—he was now an older brother?!

"This time, it's a little sister."

Sasuke: "!!!!"

"My foolish little brother?!"
