Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Not Even an Admiral Can Stop Me

"Slaive, even if an admiral stands in my way today, I'll still take your life!"

Wayne's eyes glinted with mockery as he stared past the World Government official who dared to shield Slaive.

He pulled out a Den Den Mushi from his coat and spoke into it.

"Daniel, rally the crew. Bring everyone to the Island of Slavery immediately!"

He hung up, his gaze locking on Admiral Kizaru. Kizaru was undoubtedly the biggest obstacle in his path—

assuming, of course, the admiral intended to stop him.

Kizaru looked at the escalating situation and spoke in his usual lazy drawl,

"My my... how scary. I should probably check in with the Fleet Admiral. He did tell me to avoid a direct clash with you if possible."

Wayne chuckled and unsheathed his blade, the demonic katana Rakshasa. Armament Haki surged over the blade's edge, and the sword let out a sharp hum, almost eager for blood.

"Flying Sword Style: Nine-Headed Dragon Flash!"

Wayne's killing intent ignited. He struck, swinging Rakshasa in a blinding flurry. Nine massive arcs of cutting force roared through the air toward Slaive.

Slaive's pupils narrowed. He cast a glance at Kizaru, who was still on the phone.

"Useless Navy..." he muttered.

"Looks like I'll have to handle this myself."

Wayne's Observation Haki sensed Slaive's strength. He was formidable, perhaps around the level of a Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral maybe even weaker than Hardy.

Which was why Wayne didn't hold back. He aimed to finish this in one blow.

Boom!

Faced with the nine incoming slashes, panic flickered in Slaive's eyes. Only when the technique locked onto him did he truly grasp its overwhelming might.

His Observation Haki was useless here.

In desperation, he cloaked his body in dense Armament Haki to tank the hit.

The nine slashes landed.

Wayne, seeing that Kizaru made no move to intervene, breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

Slaive wouldn't survive this.

This technique was one that even admirals treated with caution. It wasn't something just any thug could withstand.

Deep, gaping wounds tore across Slaive's body, blood soaking his figure as he collapsed in a crimson heap.

"Damn it... I was so close..." he muttered, his unfocused eyes filled with regret over the failed contract.

Wayne stepped forward, listening to Slaive's ragged breathing.

He was tough enough to avoid being cleaved to pieces, but that was all.

Wayne raised Rakshasa again, ready to deliver the final blow.

Just then, Kizaru's voice rang out.

"Sorry, Wayne-kun, but I can't let you kill Slaive."

Wayne paused, mildly surprised.

"That's the path you've chosen, then?"

Kizaru cut in,

"Don't get me wrong, Wayne-kun. You might've misunderstood."

"The Fleet Admiral believes the power of the Slavery Fruit is too dangerous. Killing Slaive would only cause the fruit to respawn and fall into someone else's hands."

"So instead, the plan is to lock him away in Impel Down for life."

Wayne thought for a moment.

"So… as long as he stays alive, it's fine?"

Without waiting for an answer, Wayne slashed downward five times.

Rakshasa cut through Slaive's limbs one by one.

Slaive let out a gut-wrenching scream before falling unconscious from the pain.

Kizaru flinched.

"Wayne-kun… you're seriously terrifying, you know that?"

Wayne gave a faint smile.

"Wouldn't want him getting too comfy with life imprisonment. Now hurry up and save him, or he really will die. And don't forget the Seastone cuffs."

As medical personnel rushed in to stabilize Slaive and carry him away, Wayne exhaled slowly.

He knew Impel Down would eventually suffer a major breakout in the future.

But with Slaive in this condition? Even if someone did come to rescue him, he'd be useless.

Clamped in Seastone and wheeled into intensive care, the so-called King of Slavery had officially fallen.

One of the ten rulers of the Dark World had been removed leaving only nine.

The end of Slaive.

Was the Slavery Fruit powerful? Absolutely. It was practically a bug-level Devil Fruit.

Its core ability was simple contracts.

Anyone who signed a contract could receive the rewards written within.

But if they violated its terms, they would instantly become the slave of the Slavery Fruit's user.

That was the fruit's first method of control.

The second? Signing someone directly into a slave contract.

Those bound this way would slowly lose their will and identity, becoming utterly incapable of disobeying the user's commands.

So in many ways, yes the Slavery Fruit was practically invincible.

Of course, like all Devil Fruits, it had its weaknesses: Seastone and seawater.

Once shackled with Seastone, the contracts would temporarily lose their effect.

And a powerful fruit didn't automatically mean its wielder was invincible.

Slaive was strong, but not so strong that his life was never in danger.

That's why he devised the perfect scheme—

All public knowledge about him, including images, were of his decoy.

Only his personal slaves and a select few knew the truth.

Of course, working as a slave auctioneer had always been Slaive's personal hobby.

He had once been just an ordinary child—

separated from his parents at a young age and sold to a noble family.

He spent years as a slave on the Bridge of Sorrow.

Until the day he stumbled upon the Slavery Fruit.

From that moment, everything changed.

Power, wealth, women he had it all.

But none of it moved him.

Years of dehumanizing slavery had twisted Slaive into a sadistic, paranoid monster.

What brought him joy was watching slaves be sold off in agony.

The fury, humiliation, and despair in their eyes made him feel alive.

So he remained hidden behind the curtain—

a slave auctioneer in public, a puppet master in the shadows.

That was the true face of Slaive.

Not that Wayne knew or cared about any of it.

At that moment, Wayne was reviewing his crew's movements.

Daniel approached, followed by a squad of pirates marching in clean, orderly formation—

more like trained Marines than the unruly pirates they were.

"Report, Boss! I personally led five pirate ships and 500 men to the Island of Slavery.

More are on the way from the New World. Awaiting your orders!"
